This classy hotel occupies a building dating from the early 20th century, set in amongst the many sights of central Madrid.

Located just off the main thoroughfare of Gran Vía, the Petit Palace San Bernardo enjoys one of the city’s most prestigious settings. It lies just a few minutes walk from Plaza de España and the Royal Palace. The city’s focal point of Puerta del Sol, the classic Plaza Mayor and the 3 world-famous galleries are also within easy walking distance.

One of the best features of this contemporary-style hotel is the laptop computer you will find in each room. Through these computers you will enjoy free Wi-Fi access to the internet.

Located right in the centre of Madrid where Plaza de Santo Domingo meets the Gran Via (the main shopping boulevard in Madrid). Some 25m from ‘Puerta del Sol’ which is a great starting point for discovering the major places of interest the city has to offer.
The Royal Theatre, the Royal Palace, the Cathedral are a 5 minute walk away and a 10 minute walk form 3 of Madrid’s most important museums: El Prado, the Thyssen Bornemisza and the Reina Sofia.
The hotel’s building dates back to the beginning of the 20th century and has been undergoing a careful renovation since 2005

The shower was amazing (perfect for 2 people) would stay again just for
the shower! Free internet & laptop in room! Good location & didn't hear
any noise from outside.

The aircon was noisy & don't have anything from the minibar... 4 Euros
for a small chocolate bar!!

location. staff.

small room. under the roof, low ceiling ( tall people can't stand near the window!!). not very clean. bed matress was awful, woke up with back-pain

The only think that I like was the hotel's localtion

For 200 Euro I expect much more than a simple room with a bed and a bad without any ventilation, the breakfast was very poor and bad.

The room was as depicted in the hotel's photos, with very hard beds, the perfect room temperature, wifi and a laptop.
I could sleep very well because of the beds and the room temperature.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Some 'low tech' things were not ok: there was no garbage bin in the room, only a small one in the bathroom.
I was not able to 'save' the towels from being replaced each day and unfortunately they had a sensible chloride smell.
The light in the bathroom was not well positioned - when shaving the light would be behind you so the face would be in contre-jour.
The breakfast room was quite small and the breakfast offer was also less than ideal if you are trying to eat 'healthy' - there would be an abundance of processed processed meat and cheese and numerous muffins but no fish, hard boiled eggs, etc.
The in-room safe had an odd system: it would require you to swipe your credit card to use it - this can easily raise security concerns...

Comfort, design & location. Large bathrooms, personal laptop is good as well as free wi-fi.

It's noisy! Although on a side street there was a lot of street noise. OK Madrid is known to be noise but even so the moise at night was quite something. Avoid the rooms facing the street. The corridors may be dark for some but personally didn't bother me.

Location was superb!! VFM very good

Hot water in sink was fine, but shower was lukewarm at best, maybe just a fault with our individual room (204)

Location was central to everything. It had a cool look although the execution of some of it's ideas was rather poor (see 'did not like' section).

Stayed on the 6th floor and it was way too hot even with the a/c on high and the window open. The shower needs to be changed somehow so that the water doesn't shoot all over the floor of the bathroom. For the price the breakfast could have been complimentary.

fairly comfortable and quiet enough to sleep in busy madrid!

hallways very dark, which helps people be quiet at night, but very hard to see when you come out of the bright sun and are trying to find your room the first time!
