The double glass in the rooms location price was amazing in the offer I took smoking rooms over looking the main street chocolates they give on the first day of arrival For someone classic like me I hatet the too much modernism in the hotel the elevators was too tight that I had to get my bags on 4 times!! The design of the elivator from street to first level of lobby was extreemly stupid and un reliable case to get up or down a bag you have to take it in 2 tight elevators! Imagine having 3 or 4 bags..... The rooms were wide but in an l shape that makes the bed sitated in a too tight area makes the room looks smaller the grey painting on the walls made me feel like in jail! Also bathroom design for having a glass door that cannot be locked is so bad, specially if a group of friends also the glass wall between the bathroom and the bed that anyone in the room can hear your pee!!!!

Excellent central location, great view from restaurant, friendly/helpful staff & compliemtary laptop usage. The only thing disappointing about Petit Palace Alcala Torre was the breakfast. It was discounted due to off-season, but there was little on offer, it was cold, and the wait staff were way behind in cleaning up tables.

Amazing location in the heart of the city, walking distance to all major sights and easy train and subway access. Very friendly, helpful staff. Decent breakfast buffet. Room was good size and bed very comfortable. Room furnishings are shabby, curtains falling down, shower head in need of adjustment, that sort of thing. Skimpy supplies of bedding and towels, had to ask for extras. WiFi very difficult to manage, system is set up so you have to go through complicated steps to re-enter secure login every single time you want to go online, which was very time - consuming and annoying.

The location, the price and the fact they had rooms available for families w/5 people. Simply put, I've stayed in Youth Hostels that had cleaner rooms. Smell: Apparently there were drainage issues with our shower, so the smell of sewage kept wafting up into our room, forcing us to continually run water back down the drain and air out the room. Run Down & Dusty: Our room had holes in the walls and floor (seriously two large holes covered up by the carpet), wall paper peeling off the walls and the carpet was filthy. There was mold in the bathroom and the room had the feel as if it hadn't been truly cleaned for some time. Space/Furniture: While there was enough 'room' for the beds there was little else in the way of furnishings or space. We had a small wardrobe and 1'x3' table w/a laptop and tv, but nothing else. There was really no way/where to unpack and place our things save living out of our suitcase. While we appreciated the somewhat dated laptop, the table and chair set up was at the end of a bed, providing almost no space to actually sit and use the computer.

I found the staff incredibly helpful and pleasant and they were available 24hours a day. The location is also fantastic as it is immediately outside the Seville metro stop and only a 2minute walk from Sol which leads directly to both Gran Via and the Plaza Mayor. Retiro Park and many of the art museum are but a 5-10minute walk in the other direction. The hotel was also very clean and quiet within the rooms, my room faced directly onto the main street and with the windows closed I could not hear any traffic/pedestrian noise. The laptop with internet, skype facilities, dvd and cd player within the room was a lovely touch. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and I will be staying here again on my next visit. The frosted glass bathroom door did little for privacy and seemed pointless. The wifi connection for mobile phones was poor and unreliable and worked maybe 50% of the time. Though the hotel did provide breakfast facilities, there was no bar or restaurant facilities that I could see beside this. Also, I was lucky to be staying on only the second floor as the lifts are terrifyingly small. However, these are all small complaints and they would not deter me from staying in this hotel again.

location an upgrade to upper-level room once we complained about the poor quality of the allocated room lounge, lobby and restaurant areas are substandard for a 4-star hotel and the original allocated room was stuffy, rundown with a soiled and smelly carpet - more like a 2-star room.

The room was smelly and the bed was uncomfortable. When we opened the windows the sweage smell got worse. This hotel is not even a one star hotel and it is overly priced for the quality and service. We could not cancel the oom reservation and to move to another hotel as the Booking.com wuld not allow us to do it. Overall it was a bad experience. We will do the direct reservations with the hotels ion the future so that we can chnage hotels if required.

The location was great! Only a 5 minute walk from Puerta del Sol and it directly next to the metro stop. The room came with a laptop which was very useful and the view I had was great! The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful with providing a map and showing me all the must see places around the downtown area. They always had a smile and were quite friendly. I'd skip the breakfast. Not very big and not worth the price. However, there is a VIPS next door that serves a bigger breakfast and also a Starbucks across the street.

So close to every thing. Perfect location for a few days in Madrid. Metro station right at the doorstep as is a Starbucks , if you like that sort of thing. Room very clean and modern and very nice buffet breakfast. Highly recommended. Front desk staf very very helpful. Two or three nights here to visit Madrid for a holiday is perfect!u Only fault was they had no English speaking tv channels. They said they did. Us I checked every day and none, but I was out and about as it was summer so wasn't too much of a problem, but the Olympic Opening Cermony in spanish was too much ! Apart from that absolute excellent value for money

Perfect location, butifull view from the restaurang, computer with Internet at the room Ventilation stoped working in the middle of the night, the staff said that technician comes at 9.00 am. At 8.00 am was to warm at the room, I asked to change the room ang got a single room ( We had dooble) because it was the only one that was cleaned. Ventilation in the new room stoped work after 2 hours.

My friends and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It is so close to La Gran Vía, Plaza del Sol and Chueca. Plaza de Cibeles and la Puerta de Alcalá are not far away. Metro Sol is close by which makes reaching Atocha a breeze for connecting trains to Cercanías like: Segovia and Toledo among others. The staff was helpful and nice. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a family suite with a king bed and two twin beds. There is a laptop in the room, this was great! The rooms are soundproofed, we could not hear anything from the rooms next to ours. We would definitely stay at this hotel in a future visit to Madrid. The bathroom is comfortable and modern, but the doors are frosted glass which makes privacy a little tricky when traveling in a group. The elevators are really small, but this is to be expected of most hotels in Europe.
