The location of this hotel is beachfront and is ideal for all age groups, particularly those who enjoy walking along the prom. There are great strolls in either direction. The public spaces and rooms are also impressive. We were lucky enough to be offered an upgrade to a penthouse suite so our accommodation was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was fantastic! For a four star hotel a minibar and safe should be available in the room and not require discussion with reception.Similarly, air conditioning should be at the guests' disposal all the year round ,not just from May to September. It can be very hot at different times of the year in Spain not just in the months highlighted. We were disappointed in this aspect and it does not seem to be mentioned on any of the websites, just in the information in the room.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food quality was excellent although choice limited. Lovely quiet area, easy access to promenade. We booked a beach sunset room at extra cost but didn't get one! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and wanted something special. We were still charged the extra rate for a basic room. Rooms look tired and dated now, in need of a major overhaul.

The food was great and resaurant staff were excellent. On arrival the receptionist wasnt partcularly interested in us,he was more interested in looking at holidays on the intrnet. The room we were allocated was on the ground floor , we requested a high room. It was ok but thats all,we requested to change rooms and were offered annother it was worse than the first with paint peeling off the walls .The leg on one of the beds was broken we reported it but they did nothing. We couldnt sit on the balcony at night as the sprinklers came on and we got soaked, we were then infested by flying ants we sprayed them .Next day the cleaner came and went but didnt seem to notice the dead ants and hoovered and left.

Excellent hotel, couldn't fault the food or its position more or less right on the beach. Lovely views from the balconies. We normally go self catering but we will definitely return to the pez espada. You couldn't get to know your waiters as every meal time you were on a different table, but apart from that they were very quick on service and the young girl in the kitchen was in and out allthe time replenishing the food. Perhaps if they allocated people the same table, and put two lots of people at the same table if would be better. There were a few single travellers and I am sure they would have liked some company at mealtimes.

This was our second stay at the Pez Espada and was equally as enjoyable as our first visit. The Pez Espada rooms are large and comfortable (and this time benefitted from magnificent sea views from our balcony). Our family group were allocated rooms within close proximity to one another and we were also able to enjoy group meals together in the hotel restaurant. The buffet style meals (breakfasts and dinners in our case) were well cooked, well presented, generous and varied, and the restaurant staff were efficient, friendly, attentive and discrete. We also made use of the hotel pools and garden - and the comfortable cafe and bar. The Pez Espada has a fine location overlooking the sea and is close to the beach, cafes, bars and shops. We enjoyed a wonderful, if brief, stay and will very likely return in the future. Thanks to all for a great holiday.

Very good position next to the beach , within walking distance to the marina ,free parking , good food , good staff ,nice garden and pool area , tends to be for older people and not many children which suits us , price of the drinks very reasonable for a hotel , have stayed with friends before so knew what to expect ,perhaps not suitable for families and more suited to couples and single travellers , bus stops just outside of hotel .

The location was great. Close enough to the airport to only be 20 Euros in a cab, but far enough away so that you didn't hear the planes. It is right on the beach. You could walk to either Torremolinos or Benalmadena. It has plenty of bars and restaurants close by. People were saving sunbeds by putting their towels on them from 7am. Some would even save the sunbeds and go out for most of the day, then use them when they got back late afternoon. If you didn't have a sunbed by 9am, you couldnt get one all day.

The location is superb, at the quieter end of La Carihuela. It is convenient for travelling to Malaga or Fuengirola. The dining area is light & airy & the waiting staff & maitre most accommodating. The evening music entertainment is definitely geared towards the older guest & so my 22 year old daughter & I spent the evenings outside of the hotel, which was a pity. By 8.30 A.m one morning every single sun lounger had already been reserved by guests placing their towels on them. I noticed that several of them were not occupied for the majority of the day. The management should really not allow this to take place.

Pero yo he quedado gratamente sorprendido.
