This ground floor apartment was in a area of town which was clean and safe, it was just a few minutes pleasant walk into the city centre and bus routes. The modern bathroom had good towels and the bedroom had clean sheets. It's nothing special, just decent no-frills accommodation and light and bright.
Not even a toilet roll! Don't expect any luxury touches at this ground floor apartment. It's an ok little place to stay, but don't arrive here when the local shops are shut because you will need to go shopping! This is the only place I've ever stayed at that didn't even supply any toilet tissue or soap. That is incredibly mean when you are paying about 100 euros a night in early June. In the kitchen there was nothing for washing up with except a filthy old scouring pad and there was no drying cloth. Also don't expect any welcome pack of coffee or tea etc. The only thing in the cupboard was salt. It gave a very bad first impression and made you notice things you would have overlooked, like the chipped paint-work and basic furnishings and creaky bed. They really need to do more to please customers.
The location is great. In a nice neighbourhood on walking distance to Gran Via, the Retiro park and Malasana. Close to the subway. A small but good supermarket just one block away. The apartment was quiet at night even though it was located close to bars and clubs.
The sofa bed was small and unconfortable. Worked ok for two small children but would have been hard to sleep on for two adults. Also good to know that the walls inside the apartment don't go all the way up to the ceiling, making noise and light spread between the livingroom, bathroom and bedroom.
The location was great - within walking distance to most of the main sites of Madrid. Easy to get to the metro stations. Very close to small market/convenience store. The kitchen was well stocked and there was a good sized refrigerator. The small TV had a great amount of channels including children's stations. The bathroom was a decent size for European bathrooms. There was a safe in the closet of the bedroom that worked well and gave us peace of mind about our belongings. The place was stocked with tea and implements to make coffee. There was an elevator that fit our stroller and luggage. There was an instruction manual in the apartment with info on the appliances, heating, etc.
This place has a lot of potential with a great location and nice kitchen, but very little effort has been put into the actual upkeep of apartment so it was an overall disappointment. The floor threshold into the bathroom had rotted/moldy wood. The shower had moldy grout/tiles. The shower was an awful experience: you had to choose between a cold/cool shower with decent water pressure, or a warm/hot shower with barely a trickle. Toilet was fine, towels were all clean. The sheets and pillow cases were clean, but very worn, with lots of pilling. The sofa-couch was awfully dirty and stained. The walls were in pretty bad shape with lots of stains and markings. But the worst part was that this was listed as a "one-bedroom" apartment and it is not really. There is a door and wall to the bedroom, but it doesn't go all the way up. That's right... it's just a partial wall. So if you're with kids or another couple, if they turn on the light in their area, it goes into yours, and of course the sound. There is not much privacy. Also the Wi-Fi...When we called the staff for our codes to the key box and for the Wi-Fi, the lady on the phone mentioned the Wi-Fi is really only in the garden/atrium area. I said that is unacceptable because the advertisement said "Wi-Fi available in all rooms and free of charge". She told me that I had to wait until HouseKeeping could bring a wireless router for the room the next day. That was awful and a real bait-and-switch. For foreigners that don't have sim cards/cell phones with data plans who really need wi-fi, this could have been bad. So we found ourselves sitting on the shared garden area/patio, or hunched next to our door frame just to get a signal. Another disappointment was the check in process. First of all, nobody meets you to give you keys or show you the place.
The location is great. Really nice neighborhood with cool shops. Everything you need is a few steps away - supermarket, pharmacy, metro stop. Walking distance from major sites - Prado museum, Plaza Mayor, and more. The apartments is very nicely designed, has useful appliances - washing machine, iron, small heaters, toaster, tea kettle (ours didn't work) and a full kitchen. Plenty of storage space for clothes.
The wall of the small room doesn't reach the ceiling, so it is open to noise and light from the living room. Electricity can't handle all the appliances in the apartment. Our first night the electricity fell. After calling the emergency number a few times, they finally managed to help us by phone (otherwise we would have had to wait for maintenance an unknown period of time). We were told that we can't use too much electricity at once - if the AC is on and someone is taking a shower, we shouldn't turn on any other appliance. The sofa bed got stuck one night - couldn't open. Emergency line (after a few tries) finally offered us the use of another apartment to sleep in, and fixed the bed the next day. Their overall handling of this was reasonable. Bathroom has no hook or anything to hang a towel or clothes.
One word- location! For this price you could not find better hotel.we spend 4 days in Madrid and did not use any public transportation since all popular places are 10-20 min walking distance. We did had everything in the apartment: small kitchen with some appliances, dishes and stove. Nice and clean washer with detergents for two loads and drier. The overall apartment looks a bit scary for the beginning but it's ok after a day. Supermarket with all you need is about 60yd away. The only negative thing is some noise level. We did arrive on Friday and we're not ready to hear happy young voices until 6am
The service is bad. The staff tells us that she will meet us at 10am, but she did not show up on time. And the water for shower is cold.
Central location, this apartment is good for short staying.
Check-in was uncomfortable . Staff sent me sms with requirement to call them 1 hour before arrival, and codes was sent by email in arrival day. I was driving some hours and hadn't Internet access, so I lost time.
The location is perfect, very close to city center. Apartments was clean and contain all that you may meet e.g. shampoo toilet paper etc. Service was very good, when you arrive you just calling contact person and pick up keys from mail box, after check out money will be charged from you credit card an that's it.
It was not so easy to find by car. As near apartments many one way roads if you miss your turn be ready to drive some circles around. Room was not too big, perfect for two persons.
Location, close to underground station, supermarket and parking house. The kitchen and the bathroom is well equipped and the appartment was clean.
