Great location and the host was very nice and helpful.
The single bed room was very small and the wifi didn't reach every where.
The location but given the serious bed bugs issue raised below, I could not really appreciate any other aspect of the hotel sadly.
The single room is a disaster. It is extremely small, gloomy and dirty. But on the top of that it is infested with bed bugs. I was supposed to stay there for one week but I was bitten by bed bugs so bad that I had to interrupt my stay in Barcelona to go back to my home country to seek medical care. It is painful and itchy and caused sleepless nights. My body was covered with huge pimples from the face to the butts and including the arms. One month after, I still have scars. The worst is the scandalous attitude of the hotel that was aware of previous cases of bed bugs bad stories but did not fumigate the room pretexting that the bugs were imported from the customers. The hotel did not do anything to compensate me for the damage either.
Excellent facilities and amenities, Alvaro was very helpful and friendly aswell which was a nice touch
Small single room...
very cheap, clean and nice personnel
extremely small room, more like a broom cupboard with a small bed and nothing more.
Great place to stay. We were in 4 persons room. Owner is very nice guy. We felt as if friends lent us an apartment :) Kitchen, bathroom, rooms are well equipped (air condition, very big tv, wi-fi, coffe machine, water machine, etc..) Place is near one of the main streets, but noise is not a problem. Nice balcony :)
Hostel was very good) Very comfortable! We had everything we needed) So clean! In comparison with other hostels I stayed in Spain and Italy it was the best one!) The owner was so friendly) It I return to Barcelona again I'll defenitelly choose Pigalle ))
Had arranged with the person who runs pigalle to meet us at the house between 7pm and 9pm. We arrived at 8. He was not there, but luckily another traveller buzzed us up. So we had a roof over our head. Had no wifi as the owner was not about. Emailed him the next day, no reply. Also had no towels for drying oursleves after showers. Air con poured out with water. Has been two days since we left and yet the owner has still no been in contact with us. We saw no staff what so ever during our stay. Thank you to the other travellers for letting us in as we would have been homeless and very pisssed off, more than I am right now.
Buzzer in the room wakes you up in the middle of the night
There has tea, coffe, hot and cold water which is very helpful for guest and the kitchen is also very useful
During our stay, there is a couple who came back late and rang the bell as they forgot to bring the keys with them. Coz it's too late, so the manager didn't hear it and I had to get up to open the door for them.
Location was good, close enough to metro stations but not central Barcelona. Fabiano was lovely, very accommodating. Access to kitchen and laundry facilities. Two bathrooms, clean and relatively new!
No on-site staff...had to phone Fabiano to get him to come and check me in. Wifi very poor in the single room although good in the rest of the apartment.
Location..kitchen was a bonus..staff - Antonio was helpful and flexible..
More a B&B than a hotel..bed linen..and other cleaning not in-time
The host was lovely, he helped and recommended places to go and see. The place is very central. host of provides free tea and coffee. Host waited for me to come as my flight was late.
Walls were super thin so you could hear everything. My bed was slightly too hard.
Location is perfect, Bathroom and toilets are clean (I had hot water in the shower); room very small but fine to sleep in; the guy is very friendly
wifi was very weak in the room; the bed was small (I m 1,72 and it perfectly fits me, if I were a bit taller it would be a problem); a bit hard to find as there is no sign (when nobody answered when i rang the bell first - i got scared if it s the right place); When i stayed it was silent in the hostel, but when there is any noise - it perfectly heard in the room
Friendly staff, even being waken up at 08h00 in the morning.
Both the email address and telephone number are incorrect on the booking conformation. I was very lucky to slip in at the main door and being able to wake up the staff. Please have it reviewed and corrected for future guests.
They really wanted to help with everything. You may use everything in the appartment.
It was a bit hard to find. It's in a privat appartment. So just ring the bell. Also the geyser was broken the first day. But they put a new one, so we didn't have problems anymore. We expacted breakfast. That was a misunderstanding, but they paid for it the first day and than they had a (simple) breakfast in kitchen.
It is close to the metro and bus station. The shared toilets and kitchen are clean.
The room is small and you can here the sound from other rooms clearly. We arrived there a little bit late, no one was there waiting for us to check in, so we stay outside of the building and felt anxious until the owner came.
Excellent location, very close to city center and metro station. Airport Bus Stop is just within 3 minutes walk. Mr Pigalle is very friendly and helpful. As I did read the previous reviews I knew that there wasn't a front desk so I arranged an appointment for our arrival to Pigalle. Mr Pigalle was waiting for us in front of the building. The flat had 4 bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet. One of the bedrooms was Mr Pigalle's and the other three were for rent. The bathrooms and the corridors were very clean. The wi-fi connection was very good.
People staying in other rooms made a lot of noise and we woke up in the middle of the night and could not sleep for hours. Signs asking the logers to be quiet after the midnight should be put on walls. The pillows were not clean and were smelly. If the bed sheets and the pillows were cleaner and newer our stay would have been a perfect stay.
Close to city centre. Close to metro and metro is convenient. Inexpensive.
Noises from the street and neighbors can be heard from the light well. There is no counter. When checking in, I have to call the person in charge and wait at the door for 15 minutes. Quite inconvenient for foreign travelers. I was also asked to pay in cash instead of bank card, different from the description on the website, which is also inconvenient. Wifi doesn't work at all.
Room tiny but ok for 1 night. Everything you might need both in bathroom and Kitchen which was nice. Nice friendly guy at check in.Its important you let him know what time you will arrive,as there is no check in desk. good value.
So hard to find, only the number on doorbell., Nearnly gave up!! One of the reviewers said it was near to pg de gracia ,be aware it is 1 hour walk from there. 5 mins from Urgell metro.
it looked really modern, exotic and pleasant.
in a nutshell: 1. poor staff 2. there wasn't any on-site staff 3. unbearable wifi speed 4. no hot water from the shower 5. although it looked modern and clean, it's actually not. first of all, the hostel sent me an email warning that if i didn't inform them about my arrival time, they'd cancel my booking. that's ridiculous. I've never seen any hostels threatening their customers in this way. After replying to the email, I received no reply for acknowledgement. Then when I reached the hostel, I rang the bell and no one was there at the hostel, so I had to wait for 2 hours with all my heavy backpacks and stuff. The second thing i dislike about this hostel is that there wasn't any staff at the hostel. The staff only came to the hostel when someone had to check in and during cleaning hours. So if you need help during your stay at the hostel, I'm sorry, you'll be on your own. Yes, you'll literally be on your own because the wifi didn't work as well. although my phone was connected to the wifi, the internet was so slow that I couldn't even update my mailbox. Also, my partner and I were so frustrated when there was no hot water from the shower and no one was there to help. And yes, no hot water. If you're lucky, you may get a hot shower. But at most of the times, you'll get a freezing shower. Lastly, even though the hostel looked really pleasant, those decorations were very unnecessary. For instance, there were loads of egg-size rocks at the sink. They made it looked really cool, BUT it was really disgusting that they never change the rocks. So the rocks were actually covered with used toothpaste, saliva and phlegm. in short, this is one of the worst hostels I've ever stayed in. And, obviously, I would not recommend this hostel to anyone.
The room with the balcony was quite nice. The free hot/cold water dispenser and the free teas were definitely a plus. There is a shared kitchen.
The WIFI did not work and that was a major problem for us. It gets connected to the line but then the actual connection doesn't work at all. During our stay there was no actual staff there, just somebody coming to the flat from time to time. The door of our room was difficult to close and all the handles are noisy. The room was not clean enough, the ground near the closet and close to the bed was dirty. The two toilets (one extremely narrow) have their sinks filled with rocks (?!?) that did not allow the water flow freely.
This guest house has a really great location, especially it's perfect if you're planning to travel to other destinations from Barcelona: 1. There is a bus stop of Aerobus in 200m, you don't have to go to Placa Catalunya, so it's very convenient to get from and to the airport; 2. It's in 10 min from Placa Espanya from which you'll likely to go to Montserrat; 3. Railway station Barcelona-Sants is in 20 min; 4. Bus station Estació del Nord is in 4 stops on direct line by metro; 5. Finally, it's in 15 minutes from the heart of the city. It was pleasant to live in Pigalle. I had concerns about my late check-in at midnight, but I had no problems.
WI-FI worked slowly.
Nice appartment, with nice and equipped kitchen, bathroom. Good price.
Room was dark, not very good air. Requires notification of arrival time, since it is an appartment and does not have a reception. Notofication was asked ONLY by email, if you dont check emails during your journey, you come to the place and nobody's there. Phone number listed here on booking.com is not reachable. Even if they block money on your card, you have to pay cash on arrival and wait for unblocking of money on your account (dont know for how long).
This hotel hasn't reception desk and no waiter waitress there, it's not a hotel, it's just an appartment for renting!! We've arrived at 10:00, there's no people in the appartment and the telephone number was closed! Then we went to another place near the landlord's home for catching the key.
