Fun and Sun on the Costa Brava
A vibrant Costa Brava resort at the foot of mountains, Lloret de Mar boasts fabulous beaches and plenty to do for all ages. Carrer de Sant Pere leading inland from the beach has lots of international brand shops and exclusive jewellers. The town also has excellent nightlife, with a wealth of restaurants, bars and one of the Costa Brava’s biggest casinos.
For a spot of culture, the Verdaguer Centre houses relics from the Iberian settlement of Puig de Castellet dating to 250 BC.
Just north is Water World, one of Europe’s biggest waterparks, while offshore watersports include diving, snorkelling and sea kayaking. Lloret de Mar also offers karting and a few golf courses.
In the town centre are Booking.com’s selection of guest houses, apartments and hotels with pools, while high-rise Lloret de Mar hotels face the town’s 2 beaches – Fenals and Lloret. The latter has a long, tree-lined promenade ending at one of the craggy coves typical of this coastline. The walk up to the cliffs is worth it for the views over the town and Mediterranean Sea.
As Lloret de Mar is only around 30 minutes’ drive from Girona Airport, it’s not long before you can dip your toes in.

The small town surely has its own charm for certain groups of people, but probably not for families with small children, the beach is not clean, the sand is too rough for kids to play with, and the waves are too strong for swimming, which are very disappointing for my toddler. Lloret seems to be quite a sleepy seaside town with not much going on except the beach, but that was fine as that was all we wanted. There were lots of pubs and nightclubs around but 99% seemed to be closed. Again, this was great for us as we dislike that kind of thing! If you want to go for a jog on the beach, or a coastal walk or simply sit on the balcony and be mesmerised by the constantly changing sea view, this place is for you. I had hoped that I would find more Catalan speakers, as I am learning this language. All the shops and signposts are in Catalan, but most people speak Castillian Spanish. Very busy shops. Streets are really dirty and smelly! Smell like urine and drains. We also got lost ALOT and ended up walking in dodgy back streets. No signage and constantly on Google maps. Hotel Roger De Flor is by my opinion the best hotel to stay in Llore de Mar because we had one of the best hollydays ever

Our hotel was good. Lloret De Mar itself was not the right place for me though. Dirty, dark and dingy in places. No good restaurants, all typical tourist traps. Much better to hop on a bus up to Tossa De Mar, nicer beach, restaurants and general vibe.JamieUnited Kingdom

Our room had a seaside view, but I think all of the hotel rooms do. Located at enough distance from Lloret clubs to not hear loud music at night. Very friendly and responsive personnel. Excellent food. We are frequent guests in Lloret, having been there a few times in the past years in different hotels. But we already know which hotel we will be booking for our next Lloret summer vacation.

There is very straight path-shortcut to the beach (5-8min) or you can pick series of variants to walk across the city center passing a lot of shops and restaurants through beautiful streets still ending up on the beach!:) Nice and romantic places aside the beach, and countless touirist attractions! Thank you for the room, free to use beach equipments, refrigerator and microowen in the lobby! See you next time!:)

Our apt was lovely, comfortable beds and spotless clean. Sergi was on the other end of phone day or night if we needed to know anything.
