Location and space for a family of four. Good availability of staff for cash payment, quick response to air-conditioning concerns, good overall satisfaction.
Uncomfortable bed, I never complain about this issue but in this flat this is a big concern, pillows are the same as having nothing, never seen such slim pillows. Sofa-bed in the sitting-room may cause you troubles, two iron bars on the two sides which can hurt you if you sit on that part, even if you're a child, not weight dependent.
Location to the beach was good, a number of restaurants and bars nearby giving ample choice Close enough to the main railway station for your jaunt to Granada and the airport is close enough too.
Only one set of keys Lack of information in the room Had to make a 2nd international call to get the wifi pass word Please ensure you have a phone (local sim for spain) otherwise you will not get access to the room - be warned!
Everything worked as notified via email, late booking unproblematic, decent apartment and good wifi connection.
It's difficult to capture just how soulless a place with a 'virtual reception' is-if you don't mind, go for it! But it permeates the experience: we arrived late and getting in was easy enough but unnerving and eerie. The apartment was decent but boxy. We didn't see a soul-and were glad to leave. Probably perfect if it suits your purpose-it was the cheapest available-but worth checking.
Convenient location, good facilities, spacious apartment.
Main issues are related to check-in procedure. Since reception is virtual, you can only contact staff by phone. Please bear in mind that staff speaks English quite little. Unless you speak Spanish, you have liaise with booking.com customer support to communicate with them. I wasn't sure I will have access to my e-mail while in Almeria, so I asked staff to provide me with check-in details in advance. With some help from booking.com customer support I got a response I have to send them a copy of my passport - although this wasn't mentioned anywhere previously. I didn't like the idea sending copy of my passport to someone's e-mail, but there were no options (properties had already charged me the full amount), so I did send it. After doing so, I received all the necessary details and we checked-in easily.
Location. Wifi. air conditioner. Could be excelent for a family of 3.
Value for money. too much money for almeria, next time another place.
Apartment itself was good value, close to the beach more than the city. Washing maching in the apartment (with a washing line on the rooftop) was useful)
BEWARE of the virtual check in!!! Make sure that you will be able to access your email while away as the instructions to access the building are emailed to you the day before arrival. I did advise I wouldn't have access to the email address used on booking.com and advised an alternative. This was ignored and when I arrived I was 30 minutes standing on the street while the staff at booking.com helped me out. Luckily I had a fully charged phone and phone credit or I would still be standing there. The Wifi password was not displayed, so again more cost while I contacted the manager to obtain that. Zero human contact, check in/out and registration experience was frustrating. Know what you are getting into before you book.
Very clean modern apartments. Very close to beach and shops
The entrance door was broken but was fixed quickly. The street was dirty, dog poo and wee everywhere.
Very modern decor, very clean. The shower was very powerful. Would stay again : ))))
location, automatic check-in, check-out
not working wi-fi
Very close to theatre. Good bars and small shops nearby
Virtual reception. You just need to call and they will tell a secret number of key safe behind the door. Huge TV
The do not speek english. No wifi password (were 2 information sheets with 2 different passwords and no one fits).
Apartments were secure.
Lots - as follows:- *Whole apartment wreaked of tobacco odour, despite being advertised as non-smoking. After complaining, cleaner brought us a can of spray air freshener, which was useless, as the odour had permeated every crevice of the apartment and air- conditioning/heating ducts. The putrid odor greeted us every time we entered the apartment. * The bed was very small (conventional double) *No kettle or toaster (although after complaining a toaster was delivered to us a few days after check-in). We had to purchase our own kettle. * Apartment looked nothing like the photos online. *Be careful when parking your car, as there are no actual signs to say where you CANNOT park - only parking available is in the street (very seedy-looking area) and not readily available. Sometimes had to park blocks away. Due to lack of signage and information available, our beautiful hire car was towed away the first night and cost us an 85 Euro fine! *Air conditioning ducts were putrid. * Hot water ran out quickly * Kitchen only has hotplates and microwave, no oven. No mugs or normal-sized cups, only midget coffee cups provided. No sharp knives, just 1 broken small knife. Also no butter knives (only knives are serrated, and impossible to butter toast!) * Small refrigerator * Wifi - not working when we first arrived, complained & only worked spasmodically - didn't work at all last day and a half. We ended up not really liking Almeria at all - hard to find any redeeming features. Very hard to even find somewhere suitable to eat, that wasn't dodgy-looking or dirty - except for Chinese Restaurant around corner which was very good value (good special 9 Euros each for a set 3-course meal).
