Our luggage did not arrive because of a flight change. The staff was exceptionally attentive with tracking it down, using their phone, and the use of their Spanish instead of ours. Kathy Beach Haven, NJ
We having nothing but good things to say about our hotel experience.
Superb staff. Excellent service. Great Location.
No parking. Tiny rooms with window instead of wall to hallway. Impossible to sleep, light from hallway shining all night.
Location - busy historic old part of town full of bars and restaurants Very friendly staff The building itself - if you like history Nice breakfast Has character - offers something different to chain hotels
Noise might be an issue for people looking for complete silence during the day and on the weekend, but generally fine
The atmosphere, cozy and friendly. Great location and very nice breakfast to order
The room! Enter from the middle of the restaurant!! The dinnerguests were sitting eating right outside My door! Very noisy and disturbing,
The welcome .... room was excellent Location fantastic for us .... big reason for booking in this location. Chef Petro and assistant/s brilliant menu, choices and quality .... going back to Madrid in a week and will make a point of going back for a meal. BEST BEST pillows I have had at any hotel/motel/b&b etc
very good bed, great shower, good location but still quiet, room was very compact but was pleasantly designed.
The main light in our room did not work properly (it would turn off every few minutes, back on after a few minutes, and so forth. Very annoying. Turning it off completely would leave the room too dark as the same switch controlled other lights as well). We told the reception about it on 16:00 on the day of our arrival (we stayed 2 nights). They promised to fix it, if not the same day, then the next morning. It was never fixed and nothing was mentioned to us about it again, also no compensation offered or even apology when I reminded them they should fix it upon check out. The place is also a very busy restaurant, which gives the sense that the staff are very busy all the time with attending the restaurant, so it may feel uncomfortable asking them questions or such. Other than that, the room is very compact. It's ok for a city hotel, but it also means no bathroom/shower privacy whatsoever (the doors are transparent and they both are basically in the same room as the bed). It works fine for couples who are comfortable with each other, but it should be noted as this may not fit everyone. The wifi only worked some of time.
Most efficient, good looking, single room. In a quiet street moments from Metro La Latina and cross the road from Plaza Major.
The bar staff are the hotel receptionists as well as the restaurant attendants and that is complicated - for the guests.
The staff is great, we can see that they really enjoy working together as a team, and they share their enthusiasm. The hotel really has some character as well as a good vibe. The room are very comfortable, clean, and well decorated (modern style in a old building but with a modernity twist). I will definitely stay there again every time I stop in Madrid for business
I almost liked everything, but I had a minor issue with the Wifi, it was not really good in my room (it can come from my laptop). They had a birthday party in the restaurant which we could slightly hear in the rooms, but nothing major.
For a great location, wonderful staff and perfectly appointed rooms this is a great option to enjoy your stay in Madrid!
Excellent staff Free drink when I arrived Nice food
Airco wasn't working
Fantastic location, close to all main historical attractions, restaurant, markets.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and informative. The room was green, comfortable and soundproof. The tapas bar and "La Antonia" restaurant, had excellent food and wine. Overall, this unique boutique hotel was bang for your buck. It is now my go to hotel in Madrid.
Location is perfect - on famous tapas st with amazing food and drinks, restaurant downstairs is amazing, close to city centre, easy to get to from the metro. Hotel was clean and provided nice toiletries (on the first day anyway). 24 hour reception - the receptionist kindly made me a coffee before our early morning departure The shower and the aircon was good and strong.
We didn't get much attention from staff, which wasn't really a problem but the hotel almost seems like an afterthought to the busy restaurant downstairs. It didn't seem like the kind of accomodation where you could ask the front desk for a lot of information on what to do in the city. Housekeeping did an inconsistent job of cleaning our room eg they would make the bed but only sometimes empty the rubbish bins and they generally did not replace toiletries or toilet paper. The room did seem clean however but such service introduces doubt into your mind.
Location, Location, Location. You will have so many food choices within 100 meters of the door, or stay in and sample the great food and drinks. Very interesting boutique hotel, steeped in history.
Rooms can be a bit small but it's ok. Might be nice to have somewhere to hang a towel in the shower...my room this time seemed to take air in from the kitchen exhaust and smelled of whatever they were cooking. But still ok. I like this place.
Location is great, restaurant is excellent, staff very friendly
Thee location is great but very noisy, avoid rooms with balcony if you want to have a good night sleep.
Good location, modern facilities. Wi-fi worked well.
Room was very small and noisy. Also air quality in the room was very bad - food smells and fumes came to the room. Got allergic reaction.
Location and Furnishings.
Hotel room with a window into the courtyard without natural daylight.
Near historical centre, interesting design
Expensive parking, rooms without windows, water from the shower appeared in the room every time
I loved everything! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated like royalty. The food is fresh and local. The staff are friendly and helpful. We ended up staying an couple of nights because it was so good.
Although I loved the hotel the windows in our room didn't open which was a bit of a drawback.
We loved the quirky rooms with powerful showers and comfortable beds. The staff were superb and the customer service was excellent. Would recommend for a stay in Madrid.
Great location, very good price, the shower was nice, room was clean and unique / interesting.
Noise keeps up til 2 or 3am from the street, but early morning construction up the street starts at 9am. Staying in La Latina you expect late night noise, but the morning was rough.
The staff was very friendly and knew English well. The hotel is in a wonderful non-touristy location with tons of tapas bars around, including one in the lobby. The room was clean with a nice bathroom.
The AC did not make the room as cool as we would like, but it was tolerable.
The hotel is located in a neighborhood with lots of restaurants. My colleague in Madrid mentioned that the area tends to attract the 30-40 year old crowd. The room was very modern and clean. It was a 5 minute walk to the Plaza Mayor. As a single traveler, I felt very safe walking home from dinner at night. I look forward to staying here again someday.
Room was very hot i think the ac wasnt working. And as there was no window it was uncomfortable.
