Most of the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. On one occasion we had booked for dinner and the reatsurant wouldn't allow us to use a table for four, when the tables for two were either occupied or else in a draught.

Brilliant location, lovely modern small hotel. The bar area was always busy with locals - place had a real buzz. Nothing really - it was a little noisy but only becuase we went to bed relatively early.

Fantastic location in the centre of the old city, for those who enjoy a heritage location and want to experience the 'Tapa bar trail'. An old building that has been renovated with flair, for a great 'city/chic' feel. Parking difficult if you are driving (and directions on internet not great).

Everything was very nice. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was very hot (which is very unusal for Spain!). The decor was wonderful. The restaurant downstairs was very nice. The staff was very quick to address concerns. It was relatively quiet. Location was a little further away from Sol than I expected.

The Posada is smart and stylish, with an excellent location, right in the middle of a street full of tapas bars. Located in the old quarter of Madrid it is perfect for touring about that area on foot and well away from the more touristy destinations like the Puerta del Sol. Staff were friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. We were able to buy tickets for the sight-seeing bus at the desk. Didn't take breakfast, so can't comment on that. Some aspects of the room were good - cleanliness, modernity, super shower, comfort of the bed. We had the least satisfactory of the room types. On each floor there is one with no balcony and only an internal window. That was ours. Also the sink was in the room - not the bathroom. Avoid these rooms if possible. It made the room feel cramped, we couldnt' open a window for fresh air without inviting the gaze of other residents and it became too warm at night, even in February. The quality of toiltetries should also have been better for what is in theory a four-star bistro hotel. No tea- making facilities and no booklet of any kind to explain the hotel facilities. The television though modern was also a little wayward and hard to fathom. If I stayed here again I would want a room to the back - the rooms to the front look on to the street and you would not get a lot of sleep I think. Nice, but not as nice as I had expected.

The quality of design, cleanliness. Location- perfect for Tapas bars & Restaurants, walkable to many pleasant squares & the main galleries & to at least 4 Flamenco establishments. Would have much preferred not to have an internal room - felt a bit claustrophobic without an outside window.

Great location to explore Madrid. Clean, modern and spacious rooms with balconies overlooking a very old and very typical Madrid street, with great places to visit and to eat and all kinds of shopping within minutes of walking. Subway is around the corner too. Family owned with a very relaxed atmosphere. I loved that the old and charming facade gives way to a modern facility that still keeps elements of how the hotel looked before being renovated. The biggest plus is they had rooms that accommodated the four of us in one big room, family with two older kids and that was very hard to find. The room was perfect and it is just a have a good time and relax boutique hotel. Nothing generic about it. We all loved it. I can't think of anything. If we needed something they responded right away.

LOVED this hotel! It is very chique and has a fabulous atmosphere. Always busy with locals and tourists alike enjoying the food and drinks, Very cool restaurant and bare with with a glass floor through whihc you can see the old wine cellar. Fantastic location if you want a great night out. On the same street as all the traditional tabernas which are full every lunchtime and evening. I LOVED my stay. Because of the location it can be quite noisy so not for you if you are looking for a quiet relaxing time.

What an absolute gem! Probably one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in anywhere in the World. Everything about it was charming, chic, cosy and comfortable (4 c's!). The staff were dressed casually and had an air of informality about them, but there was nothing unprofessional about them - they were slick and excellent at everything they did. There was a huge xmas tree in the lounge area (which doubled as a bodega) and although our room wasn't ready, we were served drinks and gorgeous olives by the tree. Will definitely stay there again every time we go to Madrid. The area is lovely - quite bohemian, lively and interesting, with a young and cool feel about it. Can't wait to go back. The breakfast wasn't a huge selection -which was nice as there was no sense of gluttony or waste. But what was there, was beautifully presented and everything you could wish for. Well done to all the staff and thank you for an excellent stay. My one complaint: (and I have seen other reviewers mention this), the shower is hard to turn off and floods the shower room floor. We had to put a towel on the floor to mop up the water and actually it was virtually impossible to work out how to turn the shower off completely. This was a real shame because everything else was so perfect about the room and the bed was blissfully comfortable and the linen soft and immaculate.
