Smell in the room. Very poor beds and pillows. Very Limited standing height at 4th floor room. No wardrobes at all!
This hotel is perfect if you are visiting the city for a short time. Being in the hart of the city makes everything close by.
The only problem that we found was that the Taxi had to drop us of a block away because of the a proximity of the hotel to the pedestrian Plaza Major
Great hotel in the middle of Madrid
Could be a bit noisy until the early hours
location, character of the hotel
I had an e-mail confieming an early check in and late check out, but my room was not ready on arrival and I had to argue to get the late check out after been told I would have to pay for it, also breakfast was until 11 on Sunday but we were not told it finished at 10:30 on Monday, staff were rude in the breakfast room.
We always stay here when we travel to and from Spain. The location is fantastic, and, for the most part the staff is phenomenal. I travel on business to Spain several times a year and this is always a "must" stop.
loved this historic and awesome hotel. Great breakfast and great location. We were happy and comfortable. Also liked the complimentary fruit, kids buffet area, and kids gifts. We would definitely stay again!!!
We were stayed here for 3 nights, went to seville, and then returned for one night. Our first room was smallish and an interior room looking into a courtyard area. It was super quiet. Our second room was huge, and looked out onto a square in Madrid. It was a great view but loud at night.
The hotel is very beautiful and is situated right in the centre of Madrid which made it a great city break. Staff were lovely and the breakfast very good. A good few nights.
The bed we had (room 517) was really hard, and the room very small, which meant we could not relax there between sightseeing trips. We came home tired through lack of sleep!
Location, breakfast, people.
Room could be bigger
needed a triple room as 3 lads on football trip and they are very hard to find but ended up with a room with 2 singles and a bunk bed which suited us perfectly. free wi-fi. great location for metro and bernabau.
front desk staff allowed me to use their computer
public computer kept shutting down before I finished my task
Location and value
Staff could be friendlier, but that is general in Madrid. Good service, but lack enthusiasm.
Excellent location - not a minute away from Plaza Major and just 2 mins walk from the main P del Sol Metro station. Very good breakfasts and wifi worked very well.
The air conditioning system was being replaced so it was pretty warm at night.
Staff room breakfast location
The location. The feeling, the loverly staf and that we sex have one hotel room. Perfekt in every way.
Very centrally located with good facilities and friendly staff.
A little too noisy at nights but that comes with the location I think
The location is very good, shops and restaurants are nearby. The hotel is very beautiful from outside, but wait untill you go in.
The first room we got was very stinky, kind of an attick, we always bumped our heads, the ceiling was so low. The atmoshere was rundown and disapponting, the furniture cheap and tasteless. I asked for another room, what was even smaller and uglier, facing to the back of the kitchen. Such a stinch and noise. The best moment was when I left this hotel.
Location Friendly staff Nice building
Uncomfortable mattress Asked for double bed - got two singles together
Location next to Plaza Mayor, other sites, dining and nightlife. Staff was helpful and nice.
Beds were hard, but we knew this before staying based on other reviews. They weren't too bad for a couple nights.
Nice location. Good breakfast.
Noisy in some of the rooms.
Excellent location Very good breakfast
The bed was a little bit too hard
no mirror in bedroom - a minor point but was inconvenient when sharing with friends
poor small bed for 2 no bathroom fan poor lighting at desk
Love the location! Right in the heart of Madrid. In 24 hours I showed my boyfriend so much of the city. I'll be back! :)
Shall return to this hotel. Ideal location for exploring central Madrid. We had lovely balcony room. Decor is really pretty.
