Bed was so hard I was sore in the AM. One or two days is fine but the third was difficult.
The hotel is very well centrally situated in relation to Madrid's tourist attractions. It is also in close proximity to shopping areas and a variety of places to eat. The metro is only a few minutes from the hotel so transport is a cinch. The hotel is clean, well appointed and the staff professional in their approach. The breakfast was excellent. I would have no hesitation in staying there again.
Over designed; too little attention to function e.g. no plug in sink; breakfast mediocre, and gloomy decor. A pity as this was once a distinguished building.
We stayed for one night at the end of August. This is a lovely little gem of a hotel - it's tucked away behind the Plaza Mayor, very well renovated with all the modcons you need. We were very impressed with our room - it had 3 balconies looking out onto the street which was wonderful. Good aircon too! Location is perfect - very good base to explore Madrid from. Service is great - a bottle of wine and welcome note found its way to our room which was a great touch (and made us feel like celebrities!)
I loved my two nights here! The location could not have been better and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to stay here again the next time I'm in Madrid!
The only minor problem I had was that I couldn't connect to the wifi. To be fair, I didn't mention this to staff so they had no opportunity to rectify the issue. That said, it wasn't hugely important to me and would certainly not cause me to change the excellent rating I've given this hotel.

Helpful, accommodating and welcoming staff, great location in the heart of town
Hotel is tired and in need of some renovation in areas, our bathroom had a damp patch on the ceiling and in general needed a spruce up in the rooms, which are a little dark, and the corridors are a little stuffy in the heat of August..
Hotel did the job for a few nights away but it's nothing fancy by any means.
Very nice location. Excellent service.
something wrong with Wifi in my room.
Absolutely great location 30 seconds walk to Plaza Major. Good and clean, worth European 4 stars. Very good Wi-Fi, which is extremely important for me.
Cannot remember any drawbacks.
An excellent budget hotel in a superb location within 100 metres of Plaza Major and only a very short stroll from Plaza del Sol. Breakfast comprised a good selection of cold meats and cheese, with a further choice of hot dishes; plus cereals, bakery, breads etc. The staff were very efficient, polite and helpful. Very good value for money.
very good situation in the very centre of city. comfortable, though small - for family - room.
the door to the wc was of glass and didn't shut. thus, if one of the family members is there, others should leave the room
breakfast selection is poor. small room. Poor English speaking reciptionists
Excellent location, couldn't be better. Friendly staff, very clean rooms.
the warm welcome the spacious toilet and bath availability of free wifi
the window did not have a good view
The central location meant we were only a few minutes walk from all the bars, shops and main plazas, while the double glazing ensured a quiet night's sleep. The bathroom inside a frosted glass "box" in the bedroom was a novel surprise. Friendly, helpful staff.
Location and shower room
3rd bed barely fitted into room. You don't get the bunk bed shown in their photos unless you book the larger family room.
Excellent location, warm and welcoming staff
Location of the hotel is perfect. It is just next to Plaza Mayor, 15 minutes by foot from the train station. Room was clean, braekfast was good. The staff was helpful. There were wifi and safebox in the room.
Bathroom is seperated with glass from the room. If you and your fellow are not very close to eachother unlike us, it may be a problem about privacy.
Bathrooms. All glass looking into master bed. Very little privacy
Location. My husband left his cell phone in the room after we booked out and the hotel kept it for us until our return to Madrid a few days later.
Our room was a bit small for three people.
The location next to Plaza Mayor is great. Breakfast was OK.
Staff at the front desk rude, bed was hard, pillows too soft, room, especially bathroom, was not very clean.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was very central to most sights. Room was a bit small but bathroom was modern and spacious.
