The staff were extremely helpful and dinner in the restaurant was very enjoyable. Would stay here again when we are next in Bilbao as it is very convenient for the Brittany Ferry Terminal.

We stayed in Puente Colgante mainly to see the Vizcaya Bridge. The hotel was in an excellent position and we had a room looking at the bridge. Once there we also had a fantastic time in the area, very old charm.

The hotel is ideally situated for people travelling to the uk by Brittany Ferries. (Bilbao-Portsmouth) It is in a good position to spend a couple of days sightseeing in Bilbao and also Portugalete and Santurzi. We stayed 2 nights, having added an extra night. The room was not made up after the first night and we found fruit which someone had left, in the minibar. Can't imagine what the staff were doing. The breakfast was a disaster. I really can't imagine how anybody manages to get a coffee with the stupid machine they have - it takes 2-3 minutes to prepare 1 coffee! In the end they took the machine away and served coffees from the cafeteria. The dinner was equally bizarre, we ordered for our main course Duck Breast which turned out to be more like a turkey breast! It was awful, 1 large piece of meat and little else. Totally overfacing and unappetising. Having said all that the hotel is perfectly situated for ferry passengers.

Location, helpful staff. It's difficult to find, and because we stayed on a Saturday night there was noise from outside.

The hotel was beautifully set on the edge of the river, with the promenade running past it.There were bistros and bars a stones throw away.We had the added luxury of a balcony with breathtaking views of the river and the peuente colgante, most impressive!! We had been lead to believe the hotel restaurant was fully available and good value, though not terribley expensive there was only a very limited coice and service available(at the bar) this was our only disappointment.

Good hotel and great location only two kilometers from The port for Brittany Ferries We were told the restaurant would be open but when we arrived for a table were told it was closed and would have to eat in the cafe, not what we wanted!! The cafe was understaffed and faced extra pressure by the closing of the restaurant. We watched several couples look into the darkened restaurant and walk out for a meal elswhere. Management missed a trick, presumably to try and save money. Not good! Will stay again but eat out.

Great location, very comfortable and close to bars, restaurants and the metro to Bilbao I would definitely stay in this hotel again - but I would not use the restaurant which was not up to scratch for such a quality hotel.

Eccellent location for Brittany Ferry Port and good value comparing with hotels in Bilbao. Excellent room overlooking river and bridge. Good meal in restaurant. Underground carpark - a bit expensive but worth it for safety reasons. Hotel difficult to find and pasrking even more so.

Really nice area of Bilbao ...may be a separate town. Lovely location right on the waterfront, overlooking a famous landmark. While the area is active and interesting it is not overly noisy. The staff were extremely accommodating and the hotel restaurant had some wonderful offers. The room was well appointed and very comfortable. We're active tourists but enjoyed being able to stay in our room and enjoy our little balcony in the evening (ask for one). A little difficult to work out where the parking is at first ... and the hotel entry faces the river, so we weren't entirely sure where we were looking. The hotel car park entry is to the left of the hotel - seems more of a pedestrian access way than a driveway; which it is. Pedestrians coming from the bridge and heading into Portugalete often use the 'travelators' to go up the hill and this is the most direct access from the river to the travelators.

Brilliant for the price. Staff were great, restaurant served classy and tasty tapas/meals at cheap rates. Hotel says 3-star on the front but is worth more than that! Don't be put off by the location at the end of the river; cross the swing bridge for 0.3EUR each and visit the beaches and cafes on the other side all night. Good stuff, especially for flattering the girlfriend on a budget! The spanish in summer at weekends? They like to stay out way later than you and walk the streets. Either stay out late and gorge yourself on 1-Euro glasses of rioja with the locals, or best be boring and pack a pair or earphones or earplugs for when you want to get a good shut-eye. Hint: rioja for the win.

Most everything fine. The view was very good (superior river-view room) The worst was the breakfast--no indication that it did not come included. For "left overs"--a horrible bottom-of-the-pot coffee and very little else-- 13 Euros per person. Quite the unpleasant surprise. Avoid if possible! There are tons of little cafes that serve as perfect alternatives. While we were there, the Puente Colgante was in repair--we had to cross the river by ferry boat, which wasn´t bad at all (30 cents per person per trip). The first night, though, it ran only until 11 p.m., which was a bit of a rush to return from dinner.

The location is excellent alongside the river and cantilever bridge, you can watch the boats and people from the comfort of the terraces. It is also well located for activities in the local town and train/metro links into Bilboa. The staff are friendly and helpful but very busy. It is a bit more expensive than many Spanish hotels but they may be because of location and proximity to Bilboa which can be very pricey. It was a little bit difficult to find because the name is not on the roadside and the entrance to the parking not marked.
