very nice location. We had the corner junior suite, with amazing view on the "puente colgante"

parking lots in hotel garage not sufficient and quite narrow. Anyhow there is another convenient parking at walking disctance (2 min, same prices)

The Camino goes past this Hotel - just walk up one street and you join the Camino. The view from my room was of the Puente on a warm sunny evening .

Close to Puente Colgante Easy access to Metro Scenic location Friendly, professional service

Beds weren't very comfortable and instead of queen size bed had two twins pushed together Food could have been better compared to other restaurants and bars nearby.

Booked this to be close to ferry for return to UK. Loved the hotel and location next to the bridge - much more than a convenient stopover

We stayed here the night before our ferry crossing back to UK. The location is excellent although it's very difficult to find initially. As a family of 4, including 2 small children, I had booked 2 double/twin rooms. The rooms we were allocated were numerically adjacent (113 & 114) but the rooms were not next to each other. I guess families with older children who might consider putting children in a room by themselves would not have been happy with this arrangement but it was ok for us. Room 114 was larger than 113 with a better balcony. Both rooms had lateral views of the river and bridge. The bathroom to 114 was suitable for disabled people with a high toilet and was more of a wet room with just a shower and no bath. We weren't told any of this when checking in by the way so it could have been a problem. The rooms were fine. Think slightly dated Novotel and you're on the right lines. Mini bar well stocked and reasonably priced. Hotel restaurant served excellent food and wine. Kids meals were iffy but ours just took from our plates and left their own. The restaurant staff were good but seemed to have an issue with each other which made the atmosphere a bit tense. Underground parking was very convenient. Overall we were happy for the night.

The wetroom in 114 didn't drain well with old hair and other debris coming up through the plug. it's a good job my husband took this room as I'd have complained immediately.

    STAFF, LOCATION

ROOM WAS HORRID - GLOOMY POORLY EQUIPPED AND SMELT FAINTLY OF CIGARETTE SMOKE. POOR ROOM LIGHTING (SOME OF WHICH DIDN'T WORK E.G BEDSIDE LIGHT) REALLY NEEDS SOME THOUGHT WHEN REPLACED WHICH CAN'T COME TOO SOON IN MY VIEW.

Staff were very helpful, building and location great. Lots of nice bars about and only minutes from ferry port. But with breakfast included it was very good value and I would use it again.

Bedrooms a bit drab. Linen was spotless but covers and carpets very tired .

Brilliant location, our "superior room" overlooked the river and paseo, juliet balcony, comfortable bed. 10 minutes from the car ferry to UK. Really helpful staff in bar/restaurant and reception, very nice terrace to people watch while enjoying a sundowner. Useful garage in basement.

Rather run down, nasty looking stain on room carpet, limited quirky menu. Very hard to find, the entrance and signage overlook the river, you have to drive up an unmarked alleyway, park and walk round to the main entrance, in my case this was after two journeys up and down the road looking for a name so discovery was accidental! Overheard the gentlemen ahead of me who had a similar experience. If you have a low sports car be careful leaving the alleyway, I grounded.

There was plenty going on locally when we were there, mid July. You can catch a train or the metro into Bilbao. The transporter bridge is fascinating. It is an easy 5 mile run to the ferry.

    Bit hard to find.

This was my second stay. Enjoyed facilities and the Gastrobar for dinner. Good room comfortable and spacious.

With its location always slightly difficult to get to with streets in Portugalete

The location although a little difficult to find and the area is not really car friendly but there is a good underground car park. The outdoor T dancing by the bandstand on a Sunday was amazing. Loved it.

The "restaurant" in the hotel. Unless you were a traveller on a set menu, forget dining in hotel. The immediate area was not really good for food. Be prepared to travel into the city.

    The view from the room

It is too pricey for what they offer. It is bearily a 1 star hotel charging as a five star. The carpet was thilthy. The reception was smelly. The parking was the most expensive I paid in Europe. I cancelled my second night and went to a five star for the same price. I stayed in Portugalete because downtown Bilbao was pricey but then found much better hotels for even less than what I paid at Puente Colgante. They need to clean their facilities and charge 50% less!

The location was excellent. The hotel very good indeed

With two small dogs an extra 26€ was excessive. We questioned it and were told that the website said we would pay. In fact the wording is you may be asked to pay. Booking.com need to change their wording

Super location by the bridge. Follow the signs to the Puente Colgante and your hotel is only yards away! Really glad we booked this place. More relaxing being by the river and you can get a train, metro or bus into Bilbao.

The location next to the Colgante Transporter Bridge and proximity to the ferry to Portsmouth. Comfortable room, good firm bed. Receptionist on duty in the morning was excellent giving us detailed instructions on how to get to the ferry port, the usual road was closed due to "feria".

    Nothing.
