Staff were friendly, and helpful with suggestions, directions around the Alhambra. The location was very close to the Alhambra, the Cathedral and Granada restaurants and shopping. The view was brilliant. We had a booking for a room with a view of the Cathedral and we got a free upgrade to a larger room, on a corner, with a view of the cathedral from one side and a view of the Alhambra from the other.
The only problem I had was getting up the last flight of stairs with my suitcase, as the lift only goes to the third floor. Would not be a problem for many people, but I travelled with a very heavy suitcase.
-- Outstanding friendly and helpful staff. -- Complimentary coffee and tea on cold days. -- Location right on the side of the Alhambra hill. Physically, this is a typical small 3-star hotel, but the human/service factors make it special.
-- The location is wonderful but best if you are not driving. We had a rental car and getting to the hotel was a huge adventure (including wrong turns and total confusion). We were saved only by the hotel's very clear directions.
The staff at Puerta de las Granadas gets an A+. They were so helpful with any and every question we had including restaurant recommendations--wonderful Moroccan food. If you are young and love walking up steep hills, this place has an excellent location. You can walk straight up to the Alhambra and it's also close to restaurants and sites in town. If you don't want to make the hike before you spend a day on your feet at the Alhambra, there is also a bus that will take you up the hill. The wifi was consistent and the bed was comfortable. The street was very quiet.
The rooms are very very small and the bathrooms microscopic. You look directly into the windows of the building across the narrow street and so you often have to keep the drapes closed (and the room dark). The price is high for such small rooms. So the main advantage of this hotel is being able to walk to the Alhambra--something that we decided not to do since it's quite a hike.
very friendly staff.Good location.Free coffee or tea 24 hours.
room a bit small. Not very comfortable mattress.
Staff were fantastic in helping us with a lost passport; location is superb; a lot of thought has gone into the design. Lovely little garden.
The rooms (we used two) are extremely petite, to put it euphemistically!
Excellent staff, close to shops, restaurants and Alhambra. Excellent value for money
Some furniture in the room a bit tired.
frendly staff good location nice room beautiful view
Excellent, friendly & helpful staff. Handy location for Alhambra & old town.
Difficult to park.
Location and excellent staff. Buy Allhambra tickets on line and go in the gate close to the hotel. Close to all sites and lots of restaurants but avoid the ones on the square. Good value.
Driving to it was a challenge
Small rooms The pillows
Staff Location Facilities
Nice staff, location.
No dedicated shower in bathroom.
location, friendly staff--good directions and recommendations for nearby tapa bars & restaurants, elevator, tea/coffee always available in breakfast room, quiet room
great blackout curtains on front windows but no way to block light coming through bathroom window from exterior lights (frosted glass bathroom door).
Along came St. Christopher on a scooter. Follow me he said and five minutes later we were at the hotel. He then led me to the parking . Fifteen Euro. Ten for Chris and five for the Bambino. The Hotel. The staff were excellent and so helpful. A two minute walk to the no. 23 bus to the Alhambra. The same to the Arabic area. Half that to the city tour train. Great location. Room was small but clean and tidy. Reasonable breakfast.
The shower could do with some maintenance. Tiles old and grubby. The shower screen was held together with a tie wrap.
Excellent location for most of Granada's attractions. Very clean, but bathrooms are worn and need some upgrading.
Parking is some distance from hotel.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, central location, nice building with terrace open for use
Room was small and had only window on ceiling, which however did not bother us much
This little hotel offers everything you could want. It is small, quaint, super clean, comfortable, the staff was excellent (extremely helpful, knowledgeable, courteous). The location is 1/2 block for the main square and is at the entrance to El Alhambra. Lots of shops and restaurants within a few steps - literally. I would most certainly recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to be near just about everything while visiting Granada!
Just a note that there are 4 floors to this hotel but the elevator only goes to the 3rd floor, so if you ask for a room with a view and they put you on the 4th floor, just know you'll have to schlep you and your luggage up a rather narrow and winding staircase from the 3rd floor.
This hotel was decorated in a modern and stylish way but especially the bathrooms are in very bad condition now. Everything is broken! Alao the rooms are very small.
Location, cleanliness of room, functioning AC, friendly/helpful staff, breakfast (for 8 euros).
Rooms are small but comfortable. Staff is very attentive. Hotel is in a very good location close to central area and Alhambra.
Room was not as clean as it could have been.
We loved close proximity to Alhambra and other attractions. Staff were very helpful with booking tours & giving us directions. Prior to our arrival the front desk offered to book Alhambra or Arab baths for us - they gave us directions & suggestions on how to get to hotel - they always replied quickly & kindly to our enquiries. Free tea& coffee was nice after sightseeing - breakfast was very good. We would recommend staying at this hotel !!
Very friendly and helping staff. Very close to Alhambra - just some 15-20 minutes of nice walk. Very close to city historic center. The hotel has good arrangements with the private parking so we had a place for our rented car in advance. Many restaurnats and cafes nearby.
A bit small room, though it is obvious given the age of the whole building. We were living on the top's floor (4th I guess) with the Alhambra view, while the view was good, the climb up the stairs to the room was a bit dangerous, esspecially with small kids (the elevator goes up to 3rd floor only). Too high gaps along the stairs - very easy to mis-step and fall down. Had to keep an eye constantly on kids and prevent them from falling.
bedroom to small, matress not good quality and poor options on the breakfast
On arrival we were given the top floor room with views of the Alhambra & Cathedral which was a lovely surprise. All staff were friendly & Ana gave us a perfect guide of what not to miss during our short stay & some great recommendations for restaurants etc. Thank you!
The glass bathroom door doesn't allow maximum privacy as there is a gap & the sink is very small so that water goes everywhere if you need to wash your face etc.
location, location, location. And the reception staff was also very helpful and pleasant. The guy gave us good recommendations for food, especially since we had dietary restrictions. The lady was kind enough to explain the way to a clinic to me and even wrote a note in Spanish explaining my ailment! Tea and coffee were on the house, which was a nice touch.
Our room was tinier than the impression one gets from the image online and it felt a bit cramped initially. We were offered a better room but it cost more and being students on a budget we weren't ready to spend more at that point. The hotel was generally very clean but I do wish the room floor had been swept even more thoroughly (I admit I'm a bit OCD about this matter and cannot stand any strands of hair on the floor, which are bound to exist when there's two females in the room!).
