Everything was fine. The rating that you find on the page should be much higher. The room was very clean, the breakfast offered a wide choice for everyone. The staff were very helpful, the location is much better than in the centre where there is too much noise,
The final score of the Gran Derbi played on October 25. :)
Well run, efficient and comfortable hotel near Madrid's important Atocha railway station. Good breakfast spread in the hotel and restaurants nearby for meals.
Almost close enough to walk to the station but not quite (if you have baggage). This is not a complaint, just a statement.
It is quite far from the centre
the room is big and clean
Restaurant way too expensive and not good at all
My kids had the most expensive soup in my life in this hotel, the simpliest soup you can possibly imagine " sopa con fedeos" no meat no egg- was at the cost of 45 Euro, and I was told the price after the kids ate the soup already Wow! the same apply for drinks in the hotel, do not eat in the hotel quality and the price are not great at all! I am not coming back for sure! the manager can warn as well well in advacne sure Its not a problem at all you can ahve soup in the notel, we ahve stock ready already just a put handfull of " fedeos- small pasta" .. she should add and we will charge you 45 Euro for 3 plates! its a good 10-15 minutes walk to the Atocha station!
Near the Atoche station Close to museums etc.
A beautiful hotel with excellent facilities and wonderful staff. The room was fantastic in every way. A perfect place with everything we needed.
The metro was a short walk away. - some 10 to 15 minutes with a nine year old. Shame it wasn't a little closer to the life of the city. Still, it suited us perfectly and we were not disappointed.
Room had 2 single beds instead of the 3 as it was described and so an extra bed was brought to the room which was wholly unsatisfactory, really only of use to a small child, and we were a group of 3 adults. Very disappointed, not the room we had booked!
Beds were very comfortable. Staff was pleasant.
Too far from any life! Restaurants and cafeterias were too far away as was the train station. Hotel restaurant was too expensive to be of use.
first night was peaceful and slept well.
no sleep the second night due to loud, nonstop party noise in back garden courtyard until after 2 a.m.
We stayed at Rafael Atocha for 3 nights (1 without the tour and 2 with the tour). The hotel is very clean, staff is friendly, and our room was comfortable. Breakfast was pretty good.
The hotel is a bit far from city center. However, it is within walking distance to some museums. Perfect for business trips or when on a tour. Wifi didn't work in our room (small inconvenience).
I was travelling to other cities so the hotel was convinient located close to the train station.
Mattress not soft.
Enjoyed your location. Easy to catch the subway to Madrid sights. Also easy walking to those sights. Breakfasts were good and filling. Staff were extremely helpful.
Rooms could be improved.
Comftortable room. Nice staff. Near train station.
Need to walk more than 10 minutes to subway stations.
The Wi-Fi was of very poor quality.
close to bus station
room service pizza bed and pillows to hard
Clean comfortable rooms with a very helpful and friendly staff.
Location was within 10 minutes walking distance of the train and bus station, but a long walk from the downtown Madrid center.
Clean, obliging reception staff. Hurray, English spoken by reception staff.
No Wifi free. Internet free. Was NOT advised for 2 days available if one paid for Wifi - but v expensive. Not close to shops, restaurants. Small cafe. Used a lot for tour companies.
Too noisy, the room doesn't have any sound isolation. It was impossible to sleep hearing everything from the neighbors, the corridor and the pipes. No free wifi and too expensive. At the check-out, they tried to charge me a greater amount than the price of my reservation in booking.com.
