Sharing the space with people from other part of the world. A kitchen for cooking
Perfect location, comfortable rooms, changing towels in the middle of stay, quiet and small hostel with a cosy light at the kitchen
I think there is too many rules for „not” at the hostel: (close the doors silently, don't use washing machine, don't listen the music too loud, don't smoke on the balcony... and 10 more… I know this is not the party hostel but if you read all these rules, you start to think what actually you can do… People are not so bad finally and the hostel should be an institution which says „yes” to the people:) There were only 2 cups in the common kitchen and no electric kettle
Property just on the door step from Main Street of ramblas be prepare for noise
It's advertise as a small hotel and actually is private flat with rooms to rent.Tiny private bathroom which wasn't attach to room it was down the hallway.Late arrival meant that we have to paid additional 20 -25 euros even that we actually arrive at 9.00 to meeting point and have to wait 25 minutes for someone to pick us up
this place is just amazing .. great value for money and locations was just at rambals.
there is nothing to hurt about it
The location was super, and the accommodation design with the red-black-white thing was amazing, the staff was nice and very helpful.
late night check is expensive
Noisy at night
The location was so good, just on the La Rambla.. But considering many other options available, this is not a game changer
There is no front desk. They are only available through e-mail and phone. We have arrived around 10:30pm and had to pay a late check in fee which is 25 Euro. Absolutely ridiculous!!! There is only one bathroom and toilet for 5 rooms / 10 people. So you have to wait a lot for your turn.
Staff very helpful, great wifi, perfect location, clean and (at my location) very quiet. Note: RamCat operates a number of different hostels all in the same area; my review is based on my experience in the one location (Carrer de les Ramelleres just off Carrer dels Tallers)
There is no "front desk". Staff are only available via email and phone. To check in, you will meet a staff member at the Hard Rock Cafe (at a time pre-arranged via email or phone).
- Central location
- Very noisy location, many night bars under the window - 25 EUR extra fee for later arrival - no reception and no possibility to leave your Luggage before departure - small, dirty room and kitchen equipment - stinking towels and bed linen - absolutely no value even for small money
Excellent location. Nice size room. Well equipped kitchen.
If you get a room overlooking the street, then prepare with earplugs (~1.50€ at a pharmacy) -- the street is very loud at night. Wifi is weak in the rooms.
windows set to the inner yard so the room was calm despite the near La Rambla, big bathroom, lift, location, in the middle of our stay (5 nights) the towels were changed
lack of dishes in the kitchen problems with a boiler (hot water)
Localisation was great and interior decor, thats all actually.
we had a room without a window! and nobody informed us about it before, shower was blocked, once there was no hot water and dust was on the shelves etc. No fresh air so it was really difficult to fall a sleep.
price central location
common bathroom with noisy extractor and poor lighting towels were never changed in a four-night stay wifi in common areas only common area dimly lit with red light poor discipline. despite no-smoking policy notices, our neighbour spent the week smoking marijuana in the terrace, leaving an unmistakable smell throughout the storey the owner didn't reply to sms sent to him during stay the room was done only once
- the location completely in the center - everything was clean and new - very good price for the quality
- no reception desk (annoying for the luggages the last day and when you arrive)
Windows are not secure; you have to meet staff at restaurant and you wait a while to get checked in because she meets several guests at same time and the hostels owned by same owner are far apart and the staff goes around each site.
Location near the ramblas. We didn't find the hostel immediately, but Diana showed up very quickly to guide us to the room. Staff is very friendly. Room has everything you need, except maybe airco. (It was still quiet hot during the night)
Only one bathroom for 4 rooms, no separate toilet. Room next to bathroom: quiet some noise when someone was in there. At night this could disrupt your sleep.
Location was the only thing I would say was good.
When I clicked reserve I was reserving a 3 bedroom that allowed 2 beds to join, when we arrived the room was with 5 beds dormitory style, and was long and narrow and tiny. The staff argued it was what we booked and was like a Greek man coming downstairs (Con- descending) the beds were uncomfortable, the next room mates although nice kids were noisy and woke us at 2 am, the place was stifling. The single bathroom was accessed thru the entry hall and kitchen, which no-one used as it was hot, and this was mid September not Summer! The free wifi I managed to get sometimes in the room, which was tiny and poorly lit by one wall light. The shared bathroom stank, and was hard to get to, with 3 other rooms using, so we got up early to avoid the rush. Most annoying was we booked a room capable of joining 2 beds as we are a couple. The staff said we should have said we were a couple, and blamed us for the wrong configuration. When as mentioned before I clicked reserve, I was clicking for the room I saw on the booking.com site. Lesson number one I will only book 1 night at a time from now on.I Booked a room in france a week before and the room I wanted was not available when I got there, so I am now very cautious on this site. They do not have any power to get mney back, and you lose your full booking cost if you disagree with the room. A risk I am not willing to take again. My advice pay the extra and get a hotel. There are plenty nearby at around 100 euro, and much better value than this cramped noisy and smelly place.
There was a dust on top shelf of a rack. And loud neighbors.
perfect location fully equipped kitchen two bathrooms
noise during the storm noise from other hostel
Amazing Location Clean Quiet building
One bathroom for over three rooms No TV Small old pillow Loud old fan No friendly greeting from staff member
Excellent located. We choose the room with private bathroom so, our room was in the back side of the building, we had no noise from the street, even with window open. This room had 6 beds even if we were just 3, we had a big space just for us. It’s a basic hostel but clean. They do provide line towels and some hands soap. For a group of friends who wants to discover Barcelona, it’s excellent choice. For tourism information there is a kiosk in La rambla really close from the hostel.
We were 3 with just one room key. This might be a problem since the bell does not work and we were in the 4th floor, so, everytime we split, we had to call with the phone to the one in the room to come down and open the door. There is no reception desk so, if you have a problem you have to call, what can be inconvenient and not practical. We met Blanca in front of the hard rock cafe that guide us to the hostel and welcomed us. It worked very well and she was nice and gave us the information we need but we never saw her again.
the location is very satisfying, there are metro station, bus station and airport shuttle bus station, all that you would need for public transportation.
You need to go through a quiet street for around 100 meters, so should be careful if back later than midnight.
Location was excelent, bedroom was ok and privacy as well. Good price-benefit relation
Very hot in the bedroom and they were very strict with the late check in policy, just keep this cost in mind when booking. Shower was tiny and water mixing was poor
I liked the location. Good value for money
Bathroom were stink
Friendly staff, convenient location right near the metro stop (about 2 blocks away), right on the main street, very clean, the kitchen was great! Very clean place, fans in all the rooms.
quiet hours start at 10:45
