Location is ideal to go to old town or new town. Good views of old town from our room No. 703 with a balcony. Friendly and helpful staff in reception maria taking over from carlos in the bar on our last night which was a treat.
We stayed here last year to the day and requested the same room which we got. The patio door didn't shut properly as we mentioned to them last year (which made us laugh) as with the shower head wall fixing which would not hold the head in place and would collapse in the bath (good job the bath is plastic) bar closing at 11pm unless carlos is working which would be 10.45pm. Mini bar kept drinks coldish but took ages to get there. Didn't try breakfast as carlos also covered that but bar across the road sorted that out.
Parking inside the hotel. Position. General comfort.
No mirror in the room. Lack of free WIFI in rooms. Furnitures, bathroom and rooms need to be renewed.
The location was central to the town. The room was clean, tidy and fairly large size by Spanish standards. The parking was underneath the hotel once we found it..Had to drive around several blocks to get to the back entrance. The dinner was okay with limited choice but very cheap. My son loved the complimentary juice in the fridge. Overall, it was okay for a one night stay. As its an older hotel, of course the furnishing are a dated but the lobby area smelt a bit musty.
The breakfast was not nice at all. Even the coffee was horrible. I have never had bad coffee in Spain so don't know what happened here..Mostly typical sugary pastry, cold meat/cheese and breads.. Would have gladly paid for some eggs or healthier options. My son had some yogurt but after a few spoonfuls gave up. Lastly, my bed was hard as a rock...
Situation car park friendliness view absolutely fantastic
Things could be updated a little ie wifi, bathroom
The location is very central which makes it a convenient place to stay for those who are interested in the architecture of Alcoy (which is lovely) or the many shops, Bars etc of the town. The staff are very friendly (they do not speak English, by the way.) The rooms are bigger than is usual these days. The lifts are quick and quiet. There is good wifi and there are a couple of Computers available to residents in Reception. The Hotel is very reasonably priced - especially in August when everywhere else in the area is very expensive.
The place is getting a bit dated. The Reception Area is quite shabby and needs updating. The rooms are beginning to show signs of wear with some lights hanging by a thread. The door between the Bedroom and the Bathroom is made of semi-opaque glass. This, by the way, seems to be an Alcoy "thing", the only other Alcoy Hotel also suffers from "glass Loo-door syndrome". Personally I hate it as I like my privacy.
Nice feel to the place for a Spanish rural location..Excellent value for money and good selection for breakfast unless you are a snob and born with a silver spoon in your mouth. Then I would say head for a 5 star hotel.
