This innovatively designed hotel is very well located for exploring all of the main sights of the city on foot. The property is close to the river in the old part of central Bilbao.

This is a good alternative to a standard hotel. The room is well decorated with everything that you need like microwave, TV. The breaksfast is nice and in sommer you can eat outside.
The location is not the best. The place is pretty load due to several bars in the streets around.
The hotel was excellent - it was nothing like our expectations. It is more like a dorm for traveling students - a lot of activities "in-house" - table tennis and other games, hall with a TV and all, some desks for work, etc. The parking was underground and secure (which is super important in this part of town!). The staff was very friendly and spoke excellent English - very helpful in giving directions, maps, etc. Good wi-fi.
The room was a bit noisy - but that's probably because we asked for a room with good wifi and we had to be on the first floor for that reason, close to the main road. The room was VERY small. They had utilized all the space very well (there was a kitchenette) but be ware - it was great for 2 nights but if you plan to stay for a longer period here, you might feel crammed in this little room. The neighborhood was shady-looking. It was not dangerous or anything, there was a lot of police and we never had any problems - but this was apparently the neighborhood of all immigrants from Africa and it was totally different than the rest of Bilbao.
The staff was not friendly. Neighborhood is restless.
Close to Geggenheim, Station & Old Town - for Mind Blowing Tapas Times!
No AC or fan
The common areas - well decorated and welcoming. The staff were lovely too.
It's fine if you want a private room for the price of a hostel. The area was a little dodgy - the street it is on is lined with prostitutes after a certain time but as two girls we weren't bothered and we didn't have any problems. A friend from Bilbao told me it's the one part of the city that hasn't been done up as a result of tourism so it's fine but not as nice as other parts of the city. If you expect it, it's no problem!
- location: only couple blocks to the old town or the new town. There are prostitutes at the street and drug users in some corners, but never caused us any big trouble even if taxi drivers and even police warned about the neighbourhood. Normal caution is adviced. - clean rooms - fridge and cooking equipment
- next to our room was a metal recycling center which caused noise one day a lot of noise from 7 am to 7 pm. Other days where better but still there were some noise. - we had two rooms: the other had cleaning (as well as towels) and the other didn't. If you don't have cleaning be sure and buy your own toiler paper. It's virtually impossible to get toilet paper from the residencia.
everything. actual location a bit dodgy but near to everything and accommodation was very safe. it was festival time too so lots of people about so did not feel at all threatened.
location in san francisco but right on edge so not as bad as i thought it would be.
No towels without extra charge, toilet paper etc. not easily available
The location was pretty good. Close to old town and rail station. The residence was decorated in bright cheerful colours and Very clean. They provide a good breakfast. The staff were OK but the residents themselves were friendlier.
Very expensive for what it was Run like an army camp Dangerous showering conditions Foam mattress does no tame for comfortable nights sleep especially when wrapped in a plastic cover. Hard to turn In the bed. Very small room. No TV in room. Had to pay for towels and they didn't dry you. Very poor quality. Had to give room number to get access to the Common lounge TV.
Very friendly guy at the reception who spoke very good english and gave excellent customer service (probably the best service I ever had in Spain).
Rooms were very hot and noisy. It is located in a dodgy neighborhood and it didn't feel safe to walk.
The staff was friendly.
The room was quite hot.
cheap, quite, nice room breakfast for 3€ (buffet)
towels were not included (you can get them from the staff members for 4€) location is close to the old town; however, we did not really feel comfortable on our way home at night since the area seems to be a bit dark
Proximity to downtown Good fare Great breakfast
No towel Kitchen without plates, forks and other stuff useful in a kitchen
Wifi worked well.
Not so nice area, bad bed, room smelt mould.
La residencia was clean and felt new. The location was good. The staff was helpfull.
It was a bit silly that there was only wifi in the hallway and not in the rooms. The greatest disadvantage though was that there was no ventilation. When the window was closed there was no air, we kept the window open all day and didn't close it until just before sleeping and even so we woke up in the middle of the night because there was no oxygene. When we tried to sleep with open window, we couldn't because of the noices in the street.
Very helpful staff, good location near city centre, excellent kitchen facilities. Possible to use washing and drying machine and gym as well. Good breakfast for 3 euro.
I loved the place. Great kitchen with two fridges, clean, not far from the old town.
The only problem is the somewhat seedy neighbourhood and the noise at night coming from he street.
very close to old city and main attractions
neighborhood (their main doors is locked even in middle of the day)
the staff is very kind
the room is too small. the breakfast is not very good. the road looks dangerous.
Clean, modern, looked good, had wifi and access to a computer, kitchen in room, lots of communal space, secure place to leave a bike
breakfast was busy and a little limited but no other problems
The common rooms
Breakfast was terrible - made out of the cheapest ingredients you can find. Honestly, I would rather they were not serving breakfast while you are on holiday There was no room service- we stayed there 3 nights and for 50 euros a night it is reasonable to expect some better standards.
Very good value although a student residence rooms were good size with facilities for light cooking.Secure parking good.150m from bars & restaurants
Immediate neighbourhood not the best but no problems
the building and our room were recently renovated; not very spacious but it’s normal with this price; close to Abando train station and to the historical centre (both old and modern parts); overall very good value for price
wifi connection only in common spaces (corridor or learning room); the neighbourhood is rather low profile, especially on evenings and nights (however we didn’t have any particular safety problem and it’s just on the boundary of this neighbourhood so it will take you 45 seconds to get to a calmer space)
the cheapest solution during the bbk festival, 5 minutes walk away of the old city. Cheap but poor breakfast, cost only 3euros. very friendly staff, 24hours
no wifi internet connection at the room. the neighborhood is really safe, we were walking from the bus station to the hotel around 3 o clock in the night every night
