It was all good
Stayed here yesterday with our two small dogs, all of us were made extremely welcome. It's a very attractive eclectic building with Moorish influences. Surrounded by a small but attractive garden, in the lovely little town of Parcent.
Family owned and run, we'd heard the food was good so thought we would visit and stay over. Arrived late afternoon, parked in the hotel car park and were shown to our very comfortable and well appointed room and bathroom. Our evening meal was excellent, we went for the degustation menu. Our host made sure we understood the menu which was in Spanish. He explained it very well. So we started with oven baked almonds, then went on to a lovely variety of home cooked tapas, followed by lamb cooked with pine nuts and spinach, then fresh fruit salad and ice-cream, delicious. Most of the food is locally sourced. An additional bonus, was the owners own wine, made from his own locally grown grapes, we spotted a bottle and asked if we could try it, a lovely bottle of red, then a sweet Sautern to go with dessert, outstanding in quality, be sure to ask to try if you're dining there.
After a most comfortable night, we enjoyed a light breakfast.
The owner was front of house and his wife did the most outstanding cooking. They were charming, friendly and helpful to the fullest extent.
