Excellent position. Friendly enough staff (though the wait staff could smile a little) and very able and attentive front desk. We enjoyed our stay at the Rialto. Its greatest attribute is its proximity to La Rambla and the ease of access to numerous restaurents and cafes. When in Barcelona again we would probably stay here a second time.
The bedroom was clean and well aired but the bathroom facility was in need of maintenance, as too many of the corridors in the hotel. It does need better lifts (elevators) - very slow and not enough. The breakfast provided was adequate but not great.
Staff were very nice, value was very cheap, excellent location. Lovely hotel!
Central location, handy for Rambla and markets and the port. Not far from bus station
hotel staff polite but not very friendly. Room (527) was a family room. Batthroom showerhead cracked, bath was rusty but we did have plenty of hot water. Family room with very rickety circular wooden staircase to mezzanine level. Totally unsafe and would not have met HSE standards of Uk and not suitable for young child. Dangerous!!! Problem with lift but they did call engineer to resolve issue fairly quickly. Wifi access only in public areas so unable to connect to internet from bedroom.
Could not have picked a better location - almost everything was within easy walking distance. Had a room overlooking the main street so had a few worries regarding noise but this wasn't an issue.
Only grumble was the comfort of the bed which we personally found on the hard side.
Perfect location! In the heart of the Gothic Quarter, just off Las Ramblas and in-between 2 tube stops!
Very friendyl and knowledgable staff
location, it's right off the Ramplas, right near a metro stop, and walking distance from so many of the sights to see in Barcelona. I have been there many times and just love it.
there is nothing I can say bad about the hotel.
The location was great, lots going on in the street and nearby area. Loads to see and do. Hotel was clean, modern facilities, great power shower and comfy bed. We had a family room, even though there were only two of us. Staff pleasant and helpful.
One of the lifts was out of order during our stay, so we got plenty of exercise going up and down 3 flights of stairs during our stay.
Position was in easy reach of everything in the Gothic quarter, the sights, shops, and restaurants. Good selection of food for breakfast.
Shabby rooms, with tired furniture. Breakfast, WiFi, and even the key to the hotel safe were extras.
The location was perfect! Only 200 m from La Ramblas street. The room was quite small, but big enough to move inside this. I liked wooden floor and balcony with the view of street. Interior was a little bit tired, but authentic. I liked breakfasts. I had cup of good coffee and crispy croissant, natural juices and sandwich with chorizo, but the choice was much wider. Good value for that money.
location,location,location and staff
The choice of food for breakfast The comfort of the room The location of the Hotel
very close to main street in Barcelona. very easy check in and great food
smallish room but worth the money
unpleasant smell in the room uncomfortable beds no refrigerator/mini bar in the room old furniture would definitely expect more from 3* hotel!!
Good location. Friendly and helpful staff.
No free wifi. Need to pay for key to safe. Door to balcony is not lockable.
the location the staff the breakfast buffet
the wallpaper was loose in several places bad tvsignal - lacked hooks or closet space
A lot of noise from the street at night. Very dismal underground bar and inefficient service. No space for any toiletries in the bathroom which is not convenient especially for female visitors who have many of these. Very meagre supply of shower gel and no face tissues. No safety hand rail in the shower. Quality of breakfast rolls, croissants, marmalade, etc. very poor. No drawers for clothing. The maze of corridors makes it very confusing to find and exit rooms. No assistance with suitcases particularly with regard to the above(the receptionist came himself to help). Barcelona in spite if this was a beautiful city and we enjoyed our stay.
location was fantastic. rooms were a good size nicely decorated and clean. hotel staff were very helpful with this hotel everything was on the doorstep. i would recommend the Rialto.
The bathroom set up
Towels are flimsy and old; air con very noisy; the overnight male staff provided excellent service, but most others did not; breakfast was very ordinary and really crowded; bills were wrongly compiled and had to be debated upon and proved that we had already paid in advance of our arrival.
Location, food , cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful building.
No hairdryer in the room or extractor fan in bathroom.
The location of this hotel is perfect. Room is small but ok. Our room was clean.
the view of our room was terrible.
Tea and coffee facilites in room
Location, location, location. We just happened to be there during the La Merce festival and couldn't be in a better spot.
Although I speak fluent Spanish and had a "Buenas tardes" returned by one of the guys at the desk, the other guy, the one who handled my check-in started speaking in what I later learned is Catalan. I couldn't understand anything he said and though I spoke Spanish to him he insisted in speaking Catalan back to me. Then he switched to a very poor English that was almost as unintelligible. This was done in a very offensive and disrespectful attitude. My only bad experience in Barcelona was in the hotel I chose to stay in. Never again.
the central location of the hotel
some of the staff was not very helpful answering questions, not smiling
Noisy air conditioning Basic toiletries The labyrinth of hallways with closed doors at night
