Hotel S’Aguarda is situated up on a hill in Cadaqués, with wonderful sea views. It has a small seasonal rooftop pool, a free Wi-Fi area and free private parking.
Score from 373 reviews Good
Set in the heart of Cadaqués, L'Hostalet de Cadaques provides a great base to explore this charming town and the surrounding landscape of the Costa Brava.
Score from 296 reviews Very good
Loverly country side and area
The view of Cadaques and the sea. It was quiet (end of season). The breakfast was awesome. The staff was minimal, but adequate. Don't expect to be pampered or fussed over.
The room was extremely dated in decor and comfort.
location, pool, privet beach
very poor rooms, not clean, not well maintained esp. the bathroom.
Location was great for spectacular views.
Food was average at best. Ordered a strawberry tiramisu and received a chocolate one which was completely frozen. Sent it nack and it had been in microwave - plate scalding but dessert still frozen! Waiters were good but kitchen seemed in chaos. Manager gave us a free bottle of wine when we complained but we were disappointed as we'd paid €525 for 2 nights. But view is fab! Refurb is starting in October.
Geographically challenging but otherwise excellent hotel with superb views, location and beach access. Breakfast features best yogurt I've had for a long, long time. Staff charming and helpful. Spacious room and bathroom were well furnished and equipped. Stiff door lock meant that when going out you had to slam loudly or ease plastic "do not disturb" sign between latch and door jamb for quiet closure. Don't miss marvellous drawings of Cadaqués by Eliseo Meifren in lobby and main stairwell.
Run out Noisy No WiFi Sink did not flow easily Bathtub dirty Access to disabled/pram difficult Can borrow towels for beach Happy to change room
Run out Noisy cause of the lift and thin walls and ceiling No WiFi on first floor Sink did not flow easily Bathtub dirty Access to disabled/pram difficult
The views, atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff and very comfortable rooms.
Lots of steps to be aware of to get to the beach or town
Location excellent. Good size room adjacent to beach. Lounge area beside pool also well locatedp
Little personal contact from staff. Waiters never greeted you. Usually had to lay your own breakfast table. No sign of anyone in charge and while hotel seemed to run efficiently it lacked even a little personal touch. Outside area somewhat bare and could be improved with more planting and a little investment.
good restaurant with helpful staff
No lifts to first floor Long walk from the town Difficult initially to drive to
Fantastic location, I like the tiers going down to the sea. The view from the room balcony was very picturesque.
We went to this hotel in July 2013 and really enjoyed it so much that we returned, Last year the food was very good and we ate there for lunch and dinner, This year was a different story, The food was mediocre and no set menu. One day we could not have lunch as there was no staff. On the bright side we just walked into town and enjoyed the local restaurants and spent our money there.
Views from restaurant and staff fantastic
Room walls soundproofing non exist ant
Location is gorgeous, rooms are spacious, our sea view balcony was large and private. Very quiet even tho there were several families with young kids.
Hotel seems neglected and understaffed. Indoor and outdoor furnishings are basic and frumpy. Lights on the stairway to the village were never on. Toiletries consisted of 4 packets of foul smelling shower gel. Breakfast food was good but service chaotic.
The architecture is stunning and the site is extraordinary. Both of these set the scene for a visual extravaganza. It is one on its own!
The location is excellent,truly amazing.
The hotel is to be knocked down this winter, and a new 5 star hotel will be rebuilt. It is therefore not at its best now .
The view was amazingly spectacular whether from the room or the main lobby. More than we expected. Even if the room was a little drab, still comfortable and really secondary to the whole atmosphere at the hotel.
I think the rooms could use updating. Looks like the bathrooms were renovated recently but furnishings are drab. And as an old building you do have to be prepared not to have a lift or anyone to assist you with heavy luggage.
The solarium and the access to the beach.
To make 15 minutes of queue waiting for a free table for breakfast. When the hotel is complete the capacity of the breakfast room is insufficient for all the guests. The assortment of the continental breakfast is scarce and runs out frequently, so you have to wait for the replacement of bread, jam, pastries, etc.
Too many steps to get to the village
View over the sea easy walk into centre of village
Difficult access for baggage I.e lift does not go to all levels
the view, the location, the surroundings
The furniture is old and dated, the bed hurt my back, no minibar (full or empty), moving for the hotel to the rooms is very fastidious and long, the corridors a noisy and rooms are not isolated from all the noise.
Beautiful room with probably the best view. It appeared to have the best view/location ratio of any comparably priced hotel we saw.
Bar opening times
Very good food, simple se lection but tasty. Outstanding views.
Location was great overlooking the bay and the village. Great for wlaking into town for dinner and a nice walk back to digext. Staff were very helpful.
Room was somewhat small. Understand the yare going to do large renovation in Sept - that will be great. Dog barked somewhere near for two solid hours at night. - hard to sleep
