This cozy hostel is situated in one of the most important streets leading to the Puerta de Toledo. All rooms at the Hostal Rofer have a private bathroom. The Rofer's setting offers easy access to La Latina neighborhood. The Plaza Mayor and El Rastro are within easy walking distance. The area is famous for its traditional tapas bars and restaurants. Although room was small and basic and there is no communal area, the hotel is clean and well located and the staff are very helpful. We booked a standard double which barely had space to walk around the bed but there was air conditioning, and plasma tv with selection of channels and it had it's own bathroom.

Extremely clean and well serviced. Close to main tourist centre of Madrid and in good walking distance of metro. Staff were very helpful and curtious although they did not speak english which was a small difficulty. Good security, wireless internet was great Room was quite small although sufficient for what we required. This is not a complaint

The room seemed to be recentely reformed. The hostal is a walking distance from the Bars at La Latina and Plaza Mayor and only 100m far from a metro station which can take you everywhere. The water was never hot in the mornings. The family at other room where very noise and I could rear everythnig. Staff only speak spanish. There is no breakfast.

It's a walk distance from all the sights and between two metro stations. Very clean rooms, good windows protect from the street noise, rather safe neighbouhood. A lot of fruit shops nearby. There is also a food store across the road and a cafe, though I never ate there.A TV and airconditioner in the room, quiet place. Unfortunately, the hostal staff don't speak any English. There is no kettle in the room.

Clean modern shower room. Extremely small room with no where to put anything. So small that the double bed was pushed up to the wall so you could only get in and out of one side. Could here everything in adjoining rooms due to thin walls. Not even a glass for water when cleaning teeth. Loud music from flats/ apartments above.

Hotel is in center, room was small but compact and had aircondition, which is essential in the summer in Spain. Thin walls, you can hear other guests speaking and doing noise. If you are lucky and other guests are decent, you have a very pleasant stay.. Hotel personell is generaly not speaking english, which can, but must not be a problem. All you need is "Hola" and "OK".

Perfect location (turistic bus stop is just behind the streets corner, metro is just in 3 min by foot, cafes, city sightseeing and etc). Value for maney! Only 7 or 9 rooms. Continental breakfast (american - as Spanish say) you can get in the nearest caffes for 2-3Eur. Trainstation Attocha in 10 min by taxi (apx 8Euro). Nice stuff - very frendly even if they don't know english 8) Free WiFi-int available. We could hear everything in the nerest rooms (girls be little bit quite ;) Room was too smal, (not a problem to me). No parking (be ready to spend time to find a plase just for downloading suitcases).

The quality / price hotel is good, there's the minimum comfort if you do not spend too much time at hotel. The hotel is 10 minutes from a Metro station. They have a deposit on the day of check-out. They provide you directly a map of the city. We hear all noise in the hotel (trust your earplugs to sleep). The staff does not speak English

We were just there a couple of nights at the end of our Spain vacation. The hotel has a good location, handy for the Metro and not too far for walking to various Madrid sights. Room and facilities seemed very clean. There's an elevator, and the place seemed very secure. Tiny bathroom! But in some of the other rooms the bathrooms are roomier.

The location of Hostal Rofer is perfect. The city center is a walk of 15 minutes and everything is nearby. The room was clean and that's the most important. The walls are made from paper it seems. Very disturbing noise during the night; you can hear your neighbours plugging in their phone and hear them snore.
