Nothing to dislike
A friendly &relaxed place to stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at Cortijo Amaya. The hosts were friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were delicious and the atmosphere was really relaxing. We definitely recommend this hotel for all types of people.
YOU REALLY SPOIL YOURSELF BY COMING HERE A small hotel where you get a warm welcome, nice hosts, clean room, very nice swimmingpool, breakfast was almost like home, lots to choose from a pot of coffee and an egg. The best place to relax .
Close to the beach, but far away from traffic noise. Lots of fun- possibility in the garden: table tennis, table football, tennis, swimming pool. The hosts make sure you need everything to feel comfortable. We spent great days there!
Beautiful , beautiful, beautiful! a peaceful corner of the world. Has everything that you need for a holiday : nice view, silence, nice people, nice and clean room, and nice hosts who really make you feel home ! We slept so nice!
The people were very friendly and they were very enthusiastic.
The location was not in the compound and there was a lot of noisy hounds.
excellent breakfast, it felt like i was at home, fine garden and very good swimming pool, very nice people!
You can hear people talking in the lounge down stairs and I amplifies up the stairs. The noise carried on each night till gone midnight.
super breakfast, nice friendly helpful couple in charge. Quiet location.
Separate bathroom (although still private) was a bit awkward and noisy in the night.
Cleanliness and the building.
Being kept awake as people talked loudly in the lobby, until 1pm, as it travels up the stairs into the rooms making it hard to sleep.
Nice and friendly reception. Nice view from the location. Dark and quiet at night.
Perfect location with comfortable bed, good breakfast and Wi-Fi!
The guesthouse is in an Andalucian style farmhouse located on a hilltop behind Torrox Costa with spectacular views. There is a tennis court, seasonal swimming pool, cosy lounge room with a log fire and a sunny breakfast room. Breakfast was lovely and included cereal, fresh bread and a selection of cheese and ham or bacon and eggs cooked to order. There are some great cafes and restaurant on the beach promenade which is a short walk away and there are more dining options if you have a car.
A fantastic and restfull place on walking distace from the beach with the hosts that could not be better. A place to recommend and certainly visit again. Try it! You will be supriesed!!
Real rustic Spanish hotel - friendly staff - has huge potential
Sadly the beautiful swimming pool was dirty and not usable - the day we left the pool was emptied even though the weather all week had been in the late twenty degrees. There was a lovely terrace but it was not swept and kept clear and tidy. Room was very Spanish and basic but as the walls were painted dark blue with only the doorway on to the balcony for light made the room very gloomy. There was an amount of repair needed as damp had blown the plaster in our room and on the balcony. Breakfast was very basic too - rolls, conserves and fruit. This hotel has such potential it was a shame because with some attention our review would have been a lot better. In particular the pool.
very sympathetic end helpful staff, loose atmosphere, traditional decor
the staff was very nice and friendly. Parking on- premises was great and easy, About a 20 minute walk downtown. Pool clean and very quiet. The room was clean The reseptionarea had a change- books- shelf. Leave a book behind, pick one:)
when you drive to the hotel you drive throgh a kind off "dusty" area. No light at nights, looks kind of "strange", but when you arrive, the hotel is ok. the sunchairs by the pool were really nasty, old madresses etc. but clean pool. not possible to buy anything to eat at the hotel after breakfast, not even icecream. about 10 minutes walk to closest store.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and the location was quiet. We liked the pool, which was a pleasure to swim in after a hot day down at the Costa.
The only negative thing was a lack of hot water on our first day. There was a problem with the hotel boiler which was repaired on our second day.
