Minimal seating and room furnishings, with low lighting except at
bedside. Finding the hotel was a challenge. In the middle of Agaete look
for signs to Urb. La Sueate and highway gc-231 (see Google map with this
listing). Drive about 2 to 3 km from edge of town. Look for yellow house
above road on left. Just before that is the Hotel Longueras sign on the
right and a narrow gravel/dirt road down into and across the valley.
The hotel is readily visible.
This is an interesting 118 year-old mansion, converted to a b & b
hotel. Large spacious bedroom room with 2 extra-large twin beds with en
suite bathroom, large closet with safe, and a few period furnishings.
Attractive courtyards and gardens. Pool and surrounds have a beautiful
view but the pool was closed for the season (February). Numerous sitting
rooms/lounge areas and library for guests to use, including good
free wi-fi. Very good self-serve breakfast with outdoor patio seating,
endless excellent hot coffee and hot milk, and omelettes upon request.
Dinner can be booked by 2 pm for same day with a fixed menu. If a
grocery store is needed, a new Spar is located on the way from town to
Puerto, in a new area on the right before the roundabout leading to the
Puerto. Good all-day restaurants are located there. A most interesting
and pleasant stay.
