The staff were really friendly and accommodating to us with our dog. They were able to supply a lovely supper at very short notice. The village was vey picturesque and lively with lots of people out and about . Breakfast which we took outside was delicious and there is the option to eat inside with the dog in bad weather.
Anna, who runs hotel gets to know her guests and is very hospitable. We arrived earlier than expected and a splendid lunch was provided. All food cooked by Anna and assistant was excellent. She will even move evening meal time earlier for those who find Spanish timing difficult.
The noise of the clock on the huge and adjacent romanesque church is impressive - but it does stop striking at midnight
We liked the warm friendly welcome and throughout our stay. We liked the bar and meals which were well prepared and priced, wines too. We liked the rural style in small village with huge church. Just perfect
There was nothing we didn't like. The public car park was about 30 metres away but very safe
Outstanding: Both hotel and village; extraordinary friendly staff and excellent food (breakfast and dinner)
Anabel, the manager, and other staff were so welcoming and friendly. We arrived late but nothing was too much trouble; we were given a delicious meal after our long journey, although it was after 10.30pm! Lovely air conditioned rooms overlooking beautiful church and square. Delicious breakfast and parking close by. Very convenient location for stopover, 2 hrs south of Santander. Anabel speaks excellent English and booking through booking.com worked fine. Highly recommend to all.
I felt relaxed from the minute we arrived. Anna (belle) was an amazing host, despite having been busy with a wedding all day she made us her priority. The room was lovely with spectacular views. Anna cooked us a very bespoke meal (I don't eat meat and my husband prefers meat) which was delicious and very reasonably priced and served with excellent local wine (additive free and bottled especially for the hotel). she is an excellent cook. We were only passing through and stayed only one night - I wish it had been longer. We will be back when we can find the time. Please visit - you will not be disappointed. Thank you Anna
Absolutely nothing to dislike at all
The first thing I should mention is the food; it was wonderful. Every night they offered us something different and it was always perfect. If you get the chance to try the "carrillera" then do, if you love meat you won't regret it. The meals are great value for money and the portions are very generous. The staff were very attentive, helpful and very friendly. They worked really hard to keep us happy and they succeeded. We took our dog with us and they treated him really well, I think he was as happy as we were. I also have to mention the location; the village is small and very peaceful and it has a very impressive church. The "Canal of Castilla" is very close and can be walked as part of the "Camino de Santiago" route, it's an easy walk and very beautiful as there are many sunflower fields along the way. We will definitely go back there again as we loved it. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
A beautiful quiet historic village with an interesting church. Very pleasant English speaking staff. An excellent place to stay overnight on our way from Santander.
jWe received excellent treatment from all staff. Ana answered all of our questions amd made wonderful suggestions. We choose the place becasue we love being in the country, driving to various sites. We were very pleased to learn that the dinners were especially wonderful and alowed us to enjoy the lovely ambiance of the place....so much the Spain we love. Very friendly English speaking staff and a beautiful (and convenient) location for our single night stopover en route to Portugal. Very secure storage for our motorcycles. Thanks Annabel!
Superb location, right in front one of the nicest churches in Castilla y Leon. Good breakfast, helpful staff, friendly crowd gravitating around the hotel and annexed bar
The mattress kept shifting position as it wasn't anchored in any way to the bed slats, no TV in the room, no space to walk around the room once the luggage is open
