Location & friendly staff.
Stunning garden terrace and entrance yet the rooms in the modern section were warm, comfortable and clean. Super hotel
Reception area and staff.
Approach to hotel was seedy/dirty. Problems with shower/air con were reported and fixed but should not have happened. Air con problem kept us awake all night.
The San Gil's traditional Sevillian exterior and beautiful tiled entrance and reception/bar area opens out onto a modern, peaceful courtyard which is surrounded by many of the rooms. We, however, were in a room in a different part of the building, a new 'annex' which appears to have been built recently. While a little difficult to find first time (lots of corridors and a different lift), it was smart and spacious room, with plenty of space for an additional bed for our daughter, and very quiet. Some reviewers have said the hotel is noisy, but this was not our experience. La Macarena is a fascinating district, away from the touristy parts of the city but with plenty of bars and restaurants which are busy with locals and students (though San Gil is on a quiet street). It's a great base and we recommend using it to walk across and around the city.
Wifi, though free, was only available in the main part of the hotel and not in the bedrooms (or not in the furthest ones).
The room was a delight to stay in and it also had a fridge. Walk in to the town is only 20 minutes. Tour bus stops around the corner ( Highly recommended )
Hot part of breakfast was cold.
Location; price; breakfast
a bit too noisy : you can hear everything in other rooms
Facilities, Cleanliness People, breakfast !
Poor Internet Conection
Beautiful classic Sevillian courtyard hotel with lovely rooftop pool. Superb staff great breakfast (sadly extra) great location. Loved it
Bedroom miles away from reception and easy to get lost!!
Great authentic quarter Macarena. Perfect location if you want to see more then the traditional city center. And yet the city center is still only 30 minutes away to the cathedral.
You find yourself in the middle of Macarena quarters. Very authentic and yet modern confortable rooms in the hotel..
the pool the shaded courtyard room with a bath
nice hotel with a patio no noise during the night very high service level
Friendly staff at front desk. Nice pool and solarium. A bit far from centre but nice and lively area, less touristic. Lots of nice tapas restaurants nearby. Good price
The breakfast was disappointing. One day, they had run out of jam at 10 am and the staff wasn't helpful. The quality of the juices ( straight out if a carton,of low quality), the bread, the ham etc.. The hotel looks like it needs a bit of attention. The safe was broken and they couldn't be bothered to replace it.
Small hotel in a quiet residential area about 10 minutes from the city centre but with lots of bars and restaurants less than 5 minutes walk away. The staff were really nice and very helpful. The hotel was clean. Really appreciated the courtyard and the pool area, especially when it was over 30°. Good choice at breakfast.
The coffee at breakfast.
Everything but the location.
The location is situated in a colorful district with lots of winding streets etc. and a very important church dedicated to the Weeping Virgin. but this is very far away from the main attractions of the city and we have to take a twenty minute bus ride to get even close to where we want to go -- the Cathedral, the Alcazar, the bullring, etc. Too bad!
Hotel location. Beautiful city very relaxing weekend will go back again.
- Nice neighbourhood. Not so manny tourists and nice bars. - Nice swimmingpool on the roof. - Big and clean rooms.
- Avoid the restaurant.
excellent room, very helpful staff, very clean. Having an underground car park
would benefit from tea and coffee making facilities in the room
the garden the pool area
while I felt safe there ,I would not walk home at night on my own from the centre of the city
Reception staff were excellent. Underground carpark with staff to park and recover car was excellent. Good size bedroom.
Bar and restaurant area not very inviting. Dining chairs are very uncomfortable patio chairs. Breakfast selection was poor compared to other 4 star hotels. Bathrooms very dated
Location, the big ground floor courtyard and the rooftop pool area.
No wifi in rooms (you need to go to reception) and the rooms in the new part of the hotel are small and very functional (although the bathrooms are nice).
The hotel was beautiful and the staff were so helpful and friendly.
We didn't get the best room, it was ground floor right next to the restaurant area so we could never have the windows or curtains open due to noise/privacy.
Room was small in the new block which resembled an office block and the view from the window was more like looking down on a lift shaft. The walls were paper thin and you could hear everything from other rooms and I mean everything. I did request a room in the old hotel and breakfast, but on arrival I was told no breakfast booked and a room in the new block. Nice hotel for an overnight stay but the area was down trodden. I also was told I would pay for the hotel on arrival but the money went out of my account before I arrived. So very sorry but it was awful.
Location is excellent and the old building is stunning. Outdoor Pool excellent for a built up city but no poolside cafe or bar.
The plumbing system noise in the new building is the noisiest and most annoying I have ever experienced. At times it seemed like everyone was either going to the toilet or showering from all sides. The internet access was extremely poor and therefore I would not recommend the hotel for business use where this facility is essential
room gloomy into lightwell
