The rooms were very comfortable, swimming pool clean and quiet Very nice and relaxing patio
Difficult to park if you do not take parking option
Hotel was fine for 2 nights stay, location was out of way of the Santa Cruz area but bus stop near by. Breakfast was poor. Hotel itself was small with a pool that entertained the children when it got too hot to go sight seeing. Our bedroom was on the growing floor but faced the indoor courtyard so lacked light and views. Would probably choose a hotel near the Santa Cruz area closer to all the activities.
Poor breakfast Out of the way of the way
Best Value Pool Extremely Clean Excellent Luxury rooms Great location
Good hotel in a fantastic location, 10-15 min walk to the old town centre.
ROOFTOP POOL AND LOUNGING AREA, SIZE OF ROOM, COURTYARD, BREAKFAST, STAFF, RELAXED FEELING.
LACK OF PARKING NEARBY. LACK OF ENGLISH TV CHANNELS, NOT A NECESSITY BUT NICE TO HAVE A CHOICE. THIS IS A VERY MINOR POINT.
They don't speak English
Rooms were large, with lovely bathrooms. Lobby area with beautiful old tiles made a great entrance. Rooftop pool is an excellent place to cool off from the heat too. Very clean. Lovely courtyard - rooms facing courtyard particularly nice.
Sound insulation poor so could hear noise from reception staff and cafeteria. Wifi reception very patchy
Beautiful sevillano style hotel. Lovely room, helpful staff and great location. There is even a pool on the top floor. Couldn't be better !
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, clean and tidied each day.
The evening menu for the hotel restaurant wasn't great. When the hotel was busy the pool area didn't have sufficient space.
Given a room in the new part of the hotel. Small, airless, soulless, windowless. Could have been staying anywhere - did not see any of the unique elements pictured in the hotel's advert in our room! Was disappointed, I'd been looking forward to the large, airy rooms I'd see online. Swimming pool was tiny and packed full of children!
- The pool was the only nice thing at this hotel.
- We had to wait a long time at the reception to check in, because nobody was there. - The staff didn't speak good English - The second night of our stay there was a cockroach in the bathroom. When we informed the staff the next day about it, they didn't apologize but put the blame on us. They just said that we shouldn't open the window, although it was the chambermaid who opened it. - The price for the laundry service is a rip-off. - Clothes which were washed by the hotel staff were damaged afterwards. - The breakfast was poor for the price of 15 euros. - It's not a non-smoking hotel! People smoked e.g. at the pool and in the restaurant. - The hotel is not located in the city center and far away from the train station. Our stay at this hotel in Sevilla was a big disappointment! Vel eit anna hotell om du har moglegheita, svømmebassenget aleine klarar ikkje å gje det hotellet her fire stjerner. Her burde det vore gjort ei ny undersøking!

The staff was terrible, except for the guy that helped us with our luggage and explained to us how to keep the room cool. I have never experienced such unfriendly staff at the reception as at San Gil. They were not helpful at all, they were not at all interested if we had complaints (for example about the air conditioning that did not work well), they were not willing to accomodate us at all until we insisted that they do so. We had 6 rooms/suites for our group of 16. We will NEVER go back there. And we will tell everybody to book somewhere else.
Reception area is lovely, with old tiles and a great view to the inner courtyard. One of our rooms overlooked the courtyard, and we had the best view of a Flamenco evening hosted there. Other room had balcony to the street and was also nice. Both had great bathrooms too. All in all very comfortable, and there is a nice pool on the roof with sunbathing area.
Rooms poorly sound insulated so noise from the reception staff and even the coffee machines in the adjacent cafeteria was an issue. The free wifi has very poor coverage so often out of use in the rooms.
Flexibility of staff. Patio on main and 4th floors are great. Rooms are well furnished and very comfortable for weary travelers.
Missed the green space on main patio yet still is very nice. It would be great if meal program for breakfast was more economical.
Had a cockroach in the room that really put me off
Rooftop pool and terrace is lovely and a real sun trap with views across the local neighbourhood. The interior courtyard is also very pretty and in traditional style. The surrounding area has some great tapas bars and restaurants.
Our bedroom was very functional and the window faced onto an interior corridor. No character or charm, although it was clean and practical. For some people, the location may be offputting as it is a fair walk to the centre of Sevilla (30 mins). However, the walk is really lovely through lots of narrow, winding streets.
Excellent staff, very well located!
This hotel is located in the Macarena area of Sevilla and is quite convenient for many places of interest. Very modern rooms are situated around a courtyard that provides a convenient place to relax. The courtyard is the venue for a really authentic flamenco evening offered on some evenings. A roof top pool is also available. We took the half board offer which included substantial breakfast and an evening meal based around interesting and well presented tapas and were happy with the value.
Signage for some of the rooms is confusing. The range of tapas available in the evening for the half board option was limited but OK for a few nights.
Location a bit out of central area but not too long a walk and makes you see more of the city, right next to Alameda de Hercules which was very good for eating and bars. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was good size clean and most importantly cool. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and tasty. Swimming pool very nice.
The location is a bit out if you don't like to walk, 20 mins to half hour walk from cathedral area and the narrow streets didn't have much breeze.
Convenient location in the Macarena neighborhood right near the city wall, with a nice 20 minute walk to the Cathedral, the Alcazar and 15 minutes from some great tapas bars. Interesting neighborhood. Immaculate room and very comfortable beds with the extra bed we had requested ready when we arrived. The staff was helpful and friendly and the hotel is lovely with the tile work and pleasant courtyard.
I would never recommend trying to drive to this hotel, especially if you are an American not used to the narrow roads. It was harrowing getting in and out. We had "reserved parking" through this site but we still could not manage to park. Once we were at the hotel and the car was parked, our stay was perfect.
I love the courtyard/garden, definitely a Spanish hotel which we like, the breakfast very good and the general atmosphere is very easygoing and pleasant. The star very helpful.
It would be a good idea to leave a large bottle of water for people to have on arrival. We were parched with the thirst when we arrived as the day was very hot, and even though there was small bottles of chilled water in the fridge, a large free bottle would be a nice gesture.
For us a great location, roof top pool is a god send. Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely decor and very quiet.
