I don't even know how to describe my experience at Sant Jordi; everything was absolutely AMAZING. It's really well located, I almost didn't take any public transportation or taxi, which allowed me to know the city really well, since I was walking the whole time. Plus, when you arrive, the staff gives you very useful maps that helps finding yourself through everywhere, with a lot of tips of good places do eat, shop, etc. I fell in love with the decoration, all of the facilities, but mostly the very friendly atmosphere they created. I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT, you just make friends whithout any effort, mostly because of the social activities they have every night, and the free pub crawl (WHICH IS THE BEST). I was traveling alone for the first time, so Sant Jordi was all I needed. I would definitely recommend to all of you that look for a place to party and meet new people. Also, if you want to sleep, rooms are very quite, since the common area is located in the lowest floor. Make sure to participate of the events they organize and you won't be sorry, it's impossible not having fun at Sant Jordi. Looking foward to going back!
I wish they could have female dorms, but that wasn't a problem for me, actually it was really fun experience, but I guess girls could feel more confortable without guys hanging in there room, or at least they could add some curtains in the beds to give a little more privacy. But again, none of these matters: Sant Jordi still the best place to be in Barcelona <3
Sant Jordi is the best decision you can make when you come to Barcelona. Everything is perfect from staff to location to free hair products. It's a place where you look forward to coming home to after sightseeing (or partying til 6am) because everyone who chooses sant jordi is likeminded and awesome. The staff are super friendly and helpful and love to party. Awesome facilities and super cool vibe and each floor is an educational tour of rock and roll. Their motto really is true - sant jordi is more than a hostel, it's a life experience :)
Everything. Staff, events during the week, people that I met there. Each Bed has a plug and a light, amazing structure! It was a really great time there!
the activities hold by the hostel
room is too crowded
Staff here are super friendly and they have pub crawl every night and the club won¨t be the same which is really cool!! and David who is the party boy is really funny and made great sangria!! love all the staff who helped me.Great hostel all in all
just took one time warm shower and after that is cold..
Staff were so helpful.
I absolutely loved the environment of everyone in the hostel and how welcoming everyone was! The food that they served was absolutely incredible and the staff were amazing. So helpful in giving tips on the best places to go and just being super friendly! I have stayed in hostels all around the world and by far this one has been my favorite. Such a good place to stay, and SO SO clean as well! AMAZING!
One of the coolest hostels I've ever been, especially considering price and location. 10mins walking from Plaça Catalunia, really nice and comfy common rooms, clean bathrooms and socket, light and locker for each bed. Every night they organize a different pub crawl that starts in the hostel and continue outside with also the guests from the other hostels of the chain. I had the chance to talk with probably all the guys of the staff at the reception and they were always veeeeery nice even though a bit slow sometimes :]
Showering was a bit uncomfortable sometimes due to no place to leave your clothes and staff inside. The wifi was a bit slow sometimes and they had a problem once so it didn't work for about 12hours
Location. Kitchen. Clean room
When i was making reservation, apprently i saw that allow children. But i heard that this is not a hotel it is hostel. Twice!!
staff were friendly, hostel was clean, they had a full kitchen you could cook, location was good
it's a chain, so it doesn't have the meeting other people atmosphere, the staff are doing their job and they are friendly, but it's not like a smaller local hostel, it just lacks the atmosphere and not very easy to meet people
Friend got a gnarly spider bite
San Jordi Rock Palace has a great atmosphear and you can tell that they put an effort towards bringing travelers together in a way that forces you to have to communicate with one another. They have events almost everyday in which you have the opportunity to meet fellow travelers. If you're traveling by yourself you'll never feel alone, be ready to meet fun/friendly travelers from all over the word. I 100% recommend this hostel, you'll always feel welcomed to the point where you'll never want to leave Barcelona. Trust me when I say you'll probably end up staying a few more nights that originally planned. Fellow travelers and I have a suspicion that they must put something in the air or food that makes you not want to leave this place, that exaggeration is on point to how great San Jordi Rock Palace truly is.
A few things I didn't like about San Jordi Rock Palace, but that weren't deal breakers were for example a few issues I had with laundry/elevator/staff. One of my biggest issues that I'll address first was that the "customer service" and mannerism in this hostel was surprisingly unpleasant. Front desk staff, always seemed to be very busy behind their computers. They'd also start speak in another language to their co-works in front of you as you'd be speaking to them, which I found really rude. I expect to smiled at and at least get eye contact in order to let me know I'm being acknowledged. That being said, a lot of the staff members were very helpful and considerate but at a stand point of standards the service was not excellent. Laundry was really expensive, it was 8 euros to wash and dry clothes. The dryer didn't even dry my clothing correctly, it was definitely not worth the price. Another issue I had was with the elevator, they only have one and it would take forever. I would get so impatient waiting that I'd walk up and down the stairs everyday from the 4th level. All that aside no palace is ever perfect and always has room to improve.
very friendly atmosphere, nice and clean beds and facilities, friendly staff, perfect location.
nothing major, they can improve the speed of the internet though
I loved that there was always fun stuff to do. So far my favourite stay at a hostel , it was like staying at a hotel. Super clean, really nice and just an overall great experience !
The wifi wasn't very good
The staff is incredibly helpful and very friendly as well. The hostel seems brand new, all the beds, sheets, pillows, everything. Plus, they have a big locker that locks with a magnetic card (the same used on the door), so you dont have to worry where to put your things. Kitchen is perfect, very neat, big and spacious. But besides the instalation, the hostel is so much fun. There are a lot of common areas so you can enjoy some time at the hostel, meeting the other guests or just relaxing with your friends. The interaction with other people is very estimulated, with dinner parties and pub crawls that actually start in the hostel, since everybody begins to drink there and then leave to bars and clubs. To stay here is the best choice you could possibly make.
everything! nice and friendly staff cozy sharing area
location... it was little bit of walk from metro station
Facilities, clean shower rooms and WCs, staff, location..basically everything!
My snoring neighbour in the room!!
Not too far from the city center even by foot and easy to reach by train from the airport. Good lockers that open with the key card.
Restless atmoshphere. This seemed the kind of place where the staff and people who are not staying in your room will drop by in your room all the time. The kind of place where people connect a lot and have fun together, so if you like to mingle with people maybe you'll like it. For me it was a bit much.
This place is a great spot to stay in Barcelona! Close enough to the center of town but just far enough away from the tourist area to really enjoy the escence of Barcelona! Excellent and helpful staff, great social events and very clean hostel! Thanks guys!
Great hostel! The staff more than help you in anyway possible. Downstairs in the communal area everyone has a great time and gets involved socially! Pub crawl also great fun A super hostel
you get what you paid for..
It is a really clean and cheap hostel
Because it is so big it is really impersonal. They have a system which turns out the lights in all room around midnight, turning them off before is not possible. This combined with the fact that the windows are opened at a specific time in the morning felt like sleeping in a boarding school. Furthermore there were people snoring extremely loud in the room we were sleeping in. Of course this can happen in any hostel, but the people staying here were really selfish and rude.
Stylish hostel good location and very safe. Maps were excellent and provided for free. Lots of suggestions for activities and pretty clean.
The whole experience was a bit too corporate there was a sign on the wall saying it was a way of life not just a hostel which seemed a bit too much! No flexibility because of company policies and staff seemed to enjoy the power over guests at times. Beds weren't terribly comfortable and being a bit of a party hostel people coming in throughout the wee hours were a bit disturbing.
Staff are lovely, make you feel very welcome! The facilities are good and the pub crawl every night is great fun :)
Always something to do here, staff were very friendly and helpful. Many facilities to use.
Bathroom was not very clean.
