Conveniently located just off of Gran Via and 650 ft from Santo Domingo Metro station, Sterling offers simple accommodations in central Madrid.

El Madroño features an attractive private garden and large rooms with kitchenettes and free Wi-Fi. It is in the fashionable Salamanca area of Madrid.

The hotel is well located, two blocks from Plaza Espana subway station and near the Royal Palace and the Debod Temple. It is a few minutes walking from San Miguel Market, Plaza Mayor and from the commercial centre. The staff is very attentive and strives to serve you well. I was there two times when I visit Madrid, one in the beginning of the vacations and the other one in the last day in Spain. I stayed in two different categories of apartments, one with a big balcony in the roof and other a little smaller, but both were very good. The Breakfast buffet is also a good choice, with fruits, juices, many kind of breads and snacks, yogurts and other good options. If I go back to Madrid some day, I really intend to stay there again.
The hotel charged my credit card in usd before I arrived, which costs an unnecessary commission. When I asked about it upon arrival two different staff told me I was wrong. I had to speak to a manager to get it resolved. I don't know who's making money off this but it is a problem at hotels in Spain.
Staff was so helpful and polite. Kitchinette is very useful.
Slow wifi in my room.
Apartment style hotel with the services of a real hotel, quiet street, good location
Noise from corridor (depends on your neighbors I guess), slow wifi when lots of devices connected
Very clean and comfortable, 5 minutes to the nearest metro station, convenient location.
The hotel/staff/location/service are absolutely great - and have not only satisfied but even surprised. Very clean, well-equiped and cozy.
The only bothering problem was a kindergarden in front of the hotel (probably there are also rooms with windows to the opposite side). During the kindergarden opening hours I sometimes forgot that I like kids )) And a hotel should have scales of course - nowadays the ailines' fines for overweight are too high. Anyway would recommend this hotel to anyone with no hesitations
Spacious rooms, good location.
Terrible staff! All went fine for the first two days. The next day, our AC broke and it was hot as hell. When we complained, the suggestion from the lady at the reception (short hair, don't remember her name), rudely suggested that we open the windows and sleep!!! Tired as we were, we even tried doing that, but it was too noisy and suffocating. After threatening to complain to her manager and even the police, she called the maintenance guy and got it fixed. The next morning, we described our experience to other people at the reception, who said that we should have booked directly with them and not with booking.com, that they don't get paid after a lot of delay form booking.com!! You only realize how good a place is based on how their service is when things aren't smooth I guess. Never going here again for sure!
very clean and cozy room. large room though not high cost.
Great location, just few steps from Plaza de Espagna. Good sound insulation, big and very clean room. The staff is very friendly. Free and fast WiFi internet connection.
Proximity to city, landmarks and restaurants. Met expectations.
Nothing in particular we didn't like.
Everything! Beautiful room with superb facilities; great location; genuinely friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay there again.
Can't think of any negatives.
Location is absolutely excellent, 5 minutes walk from the palacio real. Superbly clean and professional and all for £70 a night.....really great quality. There was nothing we didn't like
Room 410, 8-13 May: Quiet; good bed; spacious room; ample storage; excellent bath/shower. Quiet depends on your neighbour, we found, but mostly very quiet (which is the most important thing for me). Would stay there again, unless we decided on a different part of town.
This was a nice hotel - this is nit picking: Never had breakfast there. A few doors away is a nice cafe where two can have breakfast for €9. Hotel is a bit far from the main galleries, but right near the Palace. Air conditioning a bit tricky to get right. Too cold on top of the duvet, too hot under the duvet.
Early check in was very good. The receptionists were helpful.
The staff in the resturant for breakfast was not friendly.
Location very good, within a few minutes of the Gran Via and the Metro. Good sized room, comfortable bed and excellent shower.
good location: city center and royal palace are all within a 5 minute walk; also there's two metro stations nearby very big and comfortable room and bed checkout is late (noon) and breakfast until 11
Good breakfast deal on. Comfortable room with ability to make snacks if required.
Everything was excellent.
We couldn't stay in Madrid for longer.
Location was good. Close to grand via and to the metro
When I booked it as Suites I expected that there would be some other facilities. There was a stove and a microwave but not a single cup spoon or plate in the room.
Location and noise
Nice clean hotel with a good breakfast. Location is good, just away from the busy streets but all in walking distance.
Strange to have a kitchen but nothing in it. Not important for us because we did not wanted to use it.
Staff were excellent. Had great local knowledge and made us feel very welcome. The room was spacious and of a high standard for a 3 star hotel.
The area isn't central for tourists (3 stops from Old Madrid)
Poor breakfast (as a vegetarian there was very little choose).
The location was good and there was a nice staff.
the room was too dark and there were not dishes when we arrived.
