Lovely hotel and just near the metro station. Shops near by. Rooms are great, bathrooms are impressive. Staff are helpful. We didn't have breakfast there but there are shops across the road as well as a supermarket should you need to pick up anything.
TV channels aren't great and there are no facilities to play DVDs or even rent off box office. Also they provide a kettle but no tea and coffee or cups and saucers so if bring your own Roof top is nice and prices reasonable but pool is the size of a pond
the towels look a old and worn. the room smelled a little funny (humidity)
We found the hotel was amazing, especially the views. The location is good for the metro which will take you to Catalanya. The shower is lovely. The staff for always so polite and couldn't be more helpful. Having the luggage store there was great!
Although the location is alright, it is ages from the airport and is something we wish we looked into more. The bed was not comfortable and we found we got really poorly from the air con meaning we hardly slept. This then prevented us seeing as much as we wanted to. The black out blinds are electric and you can hear people above, next door and below using them....again this is something out of their control but is an added annoyance when you are struggling to sleep.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, crisp White bedding, good views from room, great roof top terrace.
Expensive menus, dark corridors, shower water everywhere while showering, room service finishes at 11pm, expensive drinks.
Staff always happy to help Clean, tidy rooms Cleaners outstanding Amazed to find a English plug built into the safe very handy Modern rooms amazing views
Bed a little uncomfy but personal review
We first visited the Diagonal 6 years ago. We love its style, enjoy the sumptuous breakfasts a,d count on the energetic and efficient staff. We will be back. Barcelona and the Diagonal are a great combination. I can't think of a better way to end a great day than with a cocktail on the rooftop of the Diagonal!
Our stay was too short. We will correct that on our next visit.
1. Broadband service in the room was very poor almost non-existent, could not check my emails. 2. There are aluminium protruding strips outside the bedroom windows, which when rained on created a lot of noise, so I could not sleep. 3. The electronic blinds make so much noise, that when the rooms next door, above and below use them I can them which is very irritating. 4. A huge queue to check out in the morning. 5. I arrived on a motorcycle and was talked to like I was a courier not a guest.
Great location, lovely staff, perfect hotel, really modern, beautiful views
Accueil personnel extra
Pool bar on roof, with all day sun. Quality of breakfast Comfort of rooms Secure parking
Wifi was poor.
Facilities and standard of hotel excellent also reception staff good.
Poor attitude and service by restaurant staff.
- Design - Komfort - rooftop terrace - accessability for wheelchair
- Loud roller blind - small pool
the staff is very friendly and competent /// we were positively surprised that some of the employees had a good command of German /// the hotel is very modern & fancy /// the location is very well reachable by public transportation /// products of daily life can be bought just across the street at a great shopping mal which currently gets refurbished
at least our two rooms need to get refurbished soon, as traces of wear are clearly noticeable, though the rooms were still very comfortable and modern /// the splash protection on the bath tub is not well designed, resulting in a wet land after every shower /// the free wireless internet is very slow and you have to re-login to the system very often /// the TV device and offered programs are not at a standard you would expect
2minute walk to glories metro station on the red line. 4 stops to Catalunya which is the most central station. Great views from high level rooms. Very clean and excellent room facilities. Yes the corridors are dark but it's a maximum of 15metres from the lift to your door and it adds to the comfortable feel of the hotel.
If you are booking based on having a swimming pool, don't. It is very small but this wasn't a requirement for us.
Everiting, and after I was complaining about the small room they give me very expensive and great room, was great.
Small rooms for 156 Euro for one nigth
The best thing about this hotel is the value for money of the room+breakfast.
The worst thing is the behaviour of the staff, who were completely oblivious to show enough awareness to realise that their interlocutors are actual people. They act like automatons, with behavioural codes closer to the American than to the Mediterranean world. Their answers are not logical, but rather attempt to match protocols. When checking in, the man behind the desk told me that a warning screen popped up forcing me to pay upfront before even seeing my room. It was the first time in my life that this had happened to me. Beside me, a girl was waiting for her companion because she was not allowed to enter the room before he arrived to the hotel with his card to pay. I asked for explanations about why I had to pay before entering the room, to which the man behind the desk answered, "I am a worker and I have to do this." The breakfast restaurant is so packed with chairs and tables that is physically impossible to move from one point to another without colliding against other people's chairs and tables. A lady had to stand up for me to sit down. Overall, the staff of the Silken Hotel are giving out a very impersonal and detached atmosphere, probably used to have it always full despite their behaviour. The risk of this is that these situations degenerate into death from success.
Very modern hotel. Right next to the Torres Agbar building. A different type of night view from our room but the blinds kept the colored lights out if they got too much. Over the road from shopping plaza. Most things reached by a short walk or tram trip.
Neede a longer stay to get to know how all the modern gadgets worked!
Room, location - the best. Near the stop of Bus Touristic, Metrostation, Stop of Tram4, Shops.
Location, staff, breakfast
Bathroom, bed totality uncomfortable, incredible slow internet, slow lift
Hotel room was clean, the location was good, close to the metro. Staff very friendly.
The shower/tub had glass doors, that was not private from the bed. WIFI did not work. Very dark halls
Easy information delivery, friendliness.
The lifts! Aaarrghhhh!
The location is really good.
The private party on the roof.
The location of the hotel was really convenient. The staff was polite, although not every staff person was fluent in english. The breakfast was fine.
There was a bit noisy at night (one could hear the sound of running elevator). The towels and bedding were clean, although with some holes...
Hotel near to the metro station and a tram bus stop. It is a good location to visit the city.
Nothing relevant. The swimming pool is very small.
