The Ayre Gran Hotel Colón is a designer hotel in a peaceful setting, just under half a mile from Retiro Park. It includes stylish, air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen satellite TV.
Score from 2164 reviews Very good
A lavishly decorated hotel, every floor 'authored' by a different architect or designer, incluiding such luminaries as Jean Nouvel and Zaha Hadid. Just the elevator stopping on an unexpected floor is a thrill in itself. Nice restaurant on groundfloor (good quality and reasonably priced) and gorgeous bar on top floor. Big comfortable rooms that tend to the minimalistic, though not all floors are equal.
nice design, maybe not always very comfortable (for instance the bathrooms on the 1st floor are slippery), good breakfast.
the matrass was rock-hard - Spain hotel style as it used to be. Reception told me "sorry, all the mattrasses in the hotel are the same".
The rooms were interesting, different, clean and worth the experience.
Out of the way.
The design it's so creative and breakfast was good
I don't like the tv unit it's old and doesn't have much there
The room was poorly built. The bed was terrible. Design was useless really useless. The room service was a ripoff. The place needs serious maintenance. The staff were hopeless and clueless.
- Reasonable Price - Clean - Close to a metro station
- Food - Bathrooms not practical
Everything. The room we had was amazing, even on the 2nd floor. And the architecture of each floor and room was incredible.
Too small roms, not kattle for tea and coffee, showers walls made from glass without doors, sockets are limited.
awesome entourage, good beds, sleeping quality, absolute no disturbing noises in room, excellent treatment, very friendly personel, skybar is wunderful asset, I drank the best bloody mary I ever tasted ( bar on ground floor ), metrostation is 6 min. walking distant, even neighbourhood is affable One should go to a local pub and amaze. Looking for a hotel in Madrid , no better place to be then Silken Puerta America
helpful staff the design of the room
location was outside of the city operation manual for the rooms should be given to guests
Everything was excellent, bizarre, unique, stylish . . . .try it!
Only a single night stop over so will return another time to enjoy the facilities properly.
Nice design, nice staffs and service.
the style of the hotel was good
i didn't like the location
A real treat if you are into design.
A staff BROKE into my room without knocking the door to check the minibar. Neither the reception manager nor the guest relationship manager would like to say a true sorry. They told us that we could only write a letter to the community of Madrid or change a hotel. Never come back again!
The room was amazing, and very friendly staff, I also liked the airport shuttle service
The innovative design
Booking a room by Zaha Hadid is really worth it. Very nice bathroom. Good breakfast. Nice design. Close to the airport. If you stay just 1 night at the weekend and depart early you might not need to buy parking slot since you can park next to the hotel in the street for free. Figure it out.
Breakfast was amazing. Hallways, it's like a futuristic museum.
Service was NOT 5 star, absolutely reactive and incredibly slow. We stayed at the second floor and there was an hotel party on the first. There was no sound isolation and even though we called the front desk (many times) they offered a late solution the next day after we went to leave a formal complain.
Really surprised that the rooms looked exactly as pictured. It was an experience, not just a room to stay in. We enjoyed the view of the city that our room afforded; we woke up to a stunning sunrise as we left the drapes open the night before, loved the ability to set the lighting mood to day or night, loved the many little things that made it comfortable. We thought at first that it was too eclectic for our taste but the comfort it afforded made it all worth while.
Loved everything in the white room we stayed at.
Amazing design Staff was extremely professional and courteous
Location is far from the center and there's nothing to do or eat around it (take into account 15 euro cab into the city each way when staying there)
Neat, clean, friendly staff, 5 star experience, free shuttle to and from hotel to city center and airport, Comfortable rooms, great facilities.
Each floor has a different design. We had the Zaha Hadid room on th 1st floor. Totally recommend it.
We enjoyed everything
