the hotel is amazing, surprising design, located close to metro, good breakfasts and friendly staff
Nice restaurant, decent bar. Quirky rooms. Really liked that they had international TV channels in different languages.
The location, it felt like a trek from the rest of the city, by a motorway and though the metro is only about 5 mins away, the walk at night for a single woman isn't great. I always got back relatively early as they do have a bar which is nice in the evening. Internet was pretty slow.
Rooms and people
Location - bit soleless
The breakfast buffet was really good, extensive and good quality.
The hotel continues on the basis of the spectacular interior design by well-known designers. It is although tired and not well maintained ...
food was good but a little bit over priced. The hotel was very clean Personal was really helpful
The SPA facilities were really bad. Showers only had cold water. The swimming pool looks really ugly and the hammam was not great
Huge bed, a little hard but ok
Weak Wifi, hotel has no charme
-Great value for money -Got upgraded to a junior suite as there were not so many deluxe rooms to choose from - very good service :)! - Really cool and designed rooms, floors and sky bar - nice if you want to stay in a different and unique kind of hotel -Free airport transfer
- Not walking distance to the city, but there was free shuttle service from the hotel and metro stations close by.
The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The design on the 2nd floor was not too edgy and essentially pleasant. The massive discount I got on the room - anything more would have been a complete disappointment.
Room service sushi was worse than what you buy at the supermarket. Not enough power points near the bed. Cannot change tv channels into version original like on most hotel tvs. Location is fine if you're in town for business, but not so much for a first time visit to Madrid as a tourist. Service was mediocre - inoffensive but not five star. Star ratings are based on facilities, but normally service and comfort should live up to these five stars too. Little annoyances like lack of powerpoints and ONLY news channels in english is irritating, when with a normal tv menu, like in most other hotels - you can change regular spanish channels into version original. I spent a lot of time in my room over 2 nights as I was resting, and this drove me mad b/c the 2 star place i normally go to (right in the centre of madrid) has 2 power points by the bedside table, a normal tv service which offers all of its functions, modern design, clean etc and 1/16th of the original advertised rate of this room. I enjoyed my stay, it was comfortable but I would not pay anymore than I did and my rate was heavily reduced.
The room had a very modern design with even some domotica features. Every floor has its unique design and you get to choose when you check in. Hotel was close to the highway and has a large underground parking. Restaurant was also very good.
Drinks were seriously overpriced. Parking is quite expensive.
I have stayed at the Silken Puerta America twice and each time have enjoyed the really exciting interior design on each floor.
I think the common spaces are rundown and uninviting.
Great value for the quality of the hotel....best I've stayed at in Madrid. The rooms are amazingly styled. It's worth visiting every floor just to see the hallway designs, the pool and gym on the roof are a great bonus. Will stay again.
Not in the city center, but metro stop is 2min. Walk.
Design and comfort, restaurant
The street is a bit ugly
restaurant was average in quality high in price
A lavishly decorated hotel, every floor 'authored' by a different architect or designer, incluiding such luminaries as Jean Nouvel and Zaha Hadid. Just the elevator stopping on an unexpected floor is a thrill in itself. Nice restaurant on groundfloor (good quality and reasonably priced) and gorgeous bar on top floor. Big comfortable rooms that tend to the minimalistic, though not all floors are equal.
Located, and the style/architecture of the hotel was so beautiful & lovely .. helpful staff .. & I would liek at this moment To thank and appreciate Mr. Rafa, who works in the restaurant of this hotel in Ground floor for his nice welcoming and helping .. I will stay at next time in this hotel because my experience was fantastic and lovely ... I will look forward to my next trip ..'! ^^
Nothing to say ..'!
Brilliant hotel with good bar and restaurant. Undergroung parking and hotel location: good connection to city and airport. All floors were different from different architect. Marvellous idea and I really liked my Japanese room
Gym was only a small room
nice design, maybe not always very comfortable (for instance the bathrooms on the 1st floor are slippery), good breakfast.
the matrass was rock-hard - Spain hotel style as it used to be. Reception told me "sorry, all the mattrasses in the hotel are the same".
Funky, colorful, designer floors, new age, great rooftop bar. Staff are superb, helpful and they speak english!
Uncomfortable since it is designer rooms, bathtub in the middle of the room, you sleep with your feet to the wall and head in the middle. Dirty! They dont clean well at all! To get ice delivered to the room they charge 4 euros!
The rooms were interesting, different, clean and worth the experience.
Out of the way.
The design it's so creative and breakfast was good
I don't like the tv unit it's old and doesn't have much there
- each floor is very unique; spend the time to go to each floor to see the different layouts by various designers - friendly staff and helpful in recommending transportation, tourist attractions, and restaurants - free airport shuttle to the airport; you appreciate this when you have to travel with luggage on the cobblestone roads - metro station very close by; 5 minutes walk with connections to all areas of the city - stayed at the junior suite; very spacious, clean, comfortable, big bedroom private from the living room - stayed on the 5th floor; business area with only 3 suites on the floor; very private and safe - 13th floor includes an exclusive bar; very nice and posh - complimentary arrival gifts was a great gesture and very welcoming
- location is not right downtown in the city centre; a 15 minute metro ride with one transfer; not a big problem at all - 5th floor was a bit too dark - had only one key so we had to turn off the lights and AC everytime we left the room - mini-bar prices were very high
