It was the end of a long pilgrimage for me - and it was wonderful to stay so close to the cathedral, yet it was quiet and modern room with a great shower - breakfast was included and I felt it was excellent value for money with very helpful and friendly staff. It is also located 5mins walk to the airport bus stop - this hotel receives all the ticks for me.

The room was clean and the breakfast very good. The room was a little small and located by a big road that became noisy in the morning.

Very good hotel, centrally located, walking distance to the old city and cathedral, clean and comfortable rooms, fairly good breakfast. There is an elevator which is a virtue, wifi in rooms.

We liked everything about the Hotel, great hospitality, the receptionist was fluent in English, great location near the old part of town and the railway station. The bedroom and bathroom was very clean and the breakfast buffet was generous in quanity and choice. Overall we though it was really good value for money.

Very basic but central room cleaning excellent.breakfast for price paid good. Staff very friendly. Would have booked superior room if I had known before hand size and location of standard rooms. Standard rooms very small ,with window half blocked by brick outside wall, also room allocated was on first floor as requested did not have lift access, which caused a little problem as travelling with person with walking difficulties.didnt make any complaint as stay was very brief.also very strong smell in bar and reception area of use of liquid used in fumigating cock roachers.

The location and access to the cathedral and pedestrian city center was the best thing about this hotel. The rooms are big enough and we were on the back courtyard, so the room was quiet. Nothing fancy here, but a decent European buffet breakfast. We were out and about in the city, so the hotel served our purposes.

The hotel was well placed for us to easily walk to all places of interest in the old part of Santiago. The staff were very helpful giving us information we needed. We had a room on the street side of the hotel and it was extremely noisy at night.

This hotel has a 1 star rating, but in fact it has 2 star facilities, Staff very friendly, excellent location and value for money, breakfast included in price was a bonus and varied choice of items. I would certainly recommend this hotel and intend to stay here again on my return.

We liked the central location, close to the Cathedral, to the Mercado de Abastos and to public transportation. We liked the cleanliness throughout the hotel, the friendly but professional treatment from the personnel. The bed was very comfortable. We liked the simple but fresh breakfast, especially the coffee. And on the morning when we were leaving, while we waited for the taxi, the night desk lady (24 hour front desk personnel) made us fresh coffee and brought us some croissants as a quick breakfast. We found that the noise from other guests carried right through the walls and floor.

Both my husband and I really enjoyed out stay at your hotel. We were tired after doing the Camino and we found the hotel had peace and quietness while at the same time it was situated in the heart of the city. The price was right and very good value for a city hotel.

This is my third time to stay at Hotel Avenida and I hope to do so again. The reception staff are helpful and informative, and speak excellent English, the rooms are clean and pleasant, with very efficient showers (always welcome after that last long day walking into Santiago!), and the location is convenient for both the ancient and modern parts of Santiago. rooms at the front can be a bit noisy

Good location There was a problem with opening the door to my room. I had to ask for help several times, the staff responded by using wd40 and force to open the door. They did not seem to realise how distressing it was not to be able to get into my own room. The breakfast was poor.

“After walking the Camino de Santiago this hotel has an absolutely fantastic location (being next to the Cathedral) and is such a wonderful/meaningful building (being a former monastery and still I think used as a seminary during the winter months). The atmosphere was perfect and the staff excellent!” Ray, Poole |
