Further reinforced my conviction that a significant number of hotels simply ignore the special request box. Is the hotel trade the only one where you don't get what you ask for but they end up taking your money anyway? If you went into a shop, asked for something that they didn't have, you would simply walk away, here you don't get what you want but they take your money regardless. I asked for a ground floor room and a Double Bed. I got neither but they took my €430 anyway and you're stuck up in the mountains with no option but to just lump it. The lady said they only have "4 or 5" Double Beds, if that's the case there's not much point having a "Bed Preference" Drop Down box is there because out of 100 or so rooms the chances of you getting one must be pretty slim. I also asked for a ground floor room (much better outdoor space) but they gave us a middle floor room without any discussion or explanation. When i asked why i couldn't have a Ground Floor room they seemed surprised and said i could have one...which is what i'd asked for in the first place...but they obviously had completely ignored the "special request" box otherwise they's surely have given me one to start with and avoided me having to complain? Very poor management in my opinion. Very friendly and efficient otherwise but i'm afraid the die had been cast by then. If someone is paying over €110 a night is it too much to ask for a bit of customer service.... AND despite what it says on the booking.com website they DON'T take AMEX, so if you turn up with just that card, you're in trouble. Too much to ask to amend this?...apparently so.
Stayed here before, great location but i'm afraid due to complete disregard of "Special Requests" (is clicking a Double Bed in the drop down box really that special?) i won't be staying again. Please see "What i didn't like" for further dissatisfied ranting.
