Score from 553 reviews Good
Very friendly staff, clean and tidy rooms, fantastic pools and easy access to both Malaga and Torremilinos, and the beach.
We stayed in the older part of the hotel, which although clean, desperately needs a facelift inside and out. Also, the food provided was very plain, and lots of fried foods. It obviously caters to the typical English and American tourist, but a bit of variety and local foods for those of us with tastebuds would be nice.
I liked being transfered to the new hotel block.
We booked the hotel half board but we were put into the apartment block at the rear. This building needs renovation the rooms are old , the beds are hard, we were on the top floor end room a long walk for two elderly people. We complained and were relocated to the new hotel building, a far superior room good layout very comfortable.. We would not return if we were to be put into the old building, im am sure you must be aware of this situation without being told by guests.
Friendly staff, very clean hotel
For a big hotel, it didnt look there would be much room around pool area for sunbeds
The over all the Hotel was very good, also has free parking which is a big plus.
No complimentary Wi-Fi, they should at least make this available in the reception/lounge areas, to not provide guests with this facility is ridiculous in this day and age.
Staff trying the best under pressurised and understaffed circumstances
room very shabby and very very expensive for what it was poorly laid out noisey and depressing tuneless music piped- a hotel whose heyday was the 1970's
,Great location, have stayed in this location for three years but better hotel.
Rooms were tired, not well set out, small considering a family room, couldn't imagine using it as advertised, situated a long way from reception. Grounds very nice, but not much space to put Sun beds in season.
- huge breakfast buffet, including champagne - great location - beautiful pools - modern and clean facilities
- staff was somewhat cold and impersonal (the hotel is huge so there were lots of guests to attend to) - the guests were mainly old French typical tourists on a "club-med-style-landed-cruise", addressing everyone in French, not knowing what paella is and never leaving the hotel grounds (true to the cliché indeed) - probably intended to cater to the tastes of the above, the food served at the hotel buffet was ok, but quite vanilla-international-style, very few local foods. which is a shame since the local food (fresh sea fish, local dessert specialties, etc) was great, and better prepared than at the hotel, in all the chiringuitos on the beach nearby the hotel.
Nothing really! Would not recommend to anyone.
The food was of a very poor quality - horrible! I have never seen rooms in a four star hotel installed with liquid soap like in a public toilet. Hotel management is cutting on expenses in every way...with no shame!
Excellent Pool and kids facilities
Pay extra for wifi Small room and balcony. Did not feel like a 4 star hotel
We were accommodated in the Apartment Block although we Booked Hotel and to Change to Hotel we were asked to pay more money - very disappointed after all the years we have been going to your Hotel
The pool area and pool bar were lovely overall very clean and kept up to standards facilities good
We didnt get a room in the hotel but the appartments part the balcony was tiny the hair dryer was broken no music during the day at the pool
perfect location short transfer time from airport, close to beach and walking distance to everything. the lagoon style pool was beautiful entertainment every night was enjoyable, mostly in spanish (but we were in spain). great selection of food every day always something for us even though we,re quite simple eaters. would be brilliant for kids.
the rooms were nice enough and clean BUT the walls must be paper thin, i was woken on different occasions by doors slamming babies crying and just people talking. Beds were very uncomfortable too we actual pulled out the sofa beds to sleep on. Its a pity really as out of all the hotels on the torremolinos strip i still say its the best.
Meals included. Live entertainment provided during evening meals. Besides this there were no positive features whatsoever. The photos look good on the website but the reality is completely the opposite. Rooms are old, dirty and noisy and service is non-existent. There was always a queue to talk to someone at reception, and nobody ever answers the phone if you try calling them. You have been warned!
Too many people, too busy, too noisy, no service, nobody answering phones, limited car parking, no minibar, no room service, no beds for couples (only 2 single beds pushed together), dirty room, very dated interior, room was exceptionally noisy and was woken continuously throughout the night by the lift beeping and people walking by, kids shouting etc. Worst experience in Europe.
The swimming pools are marvellous
The breakfast, not enough staff to cater for so many people, so the did not have time to replenish, thus breakfast poorly.
Good swimming pools
Crowds of people everywhere. Always que at reception!
buffet breakfast, lunch, dinner
many people in hotel area - many people around swimingpools, lazy staff, lonq lines in front of reception, little staff, hotel needs concierge/guest departmant for answering questions of clients, too busy and unhelpful staff, oldfashion rooms - out-of-date, poor conneciton of wifi, insufficient number of sunbeds and sunumrellas, many many people everywhere, cold sea, not good destination for children
Room to small for 2 adults and one child, rollaway bed at end of double bed not leaving enough room to move
You pay for the safe in the room, the closest and towels when u swim in their pools.. all per day basis.. very very short staffed and inefficient. Conditions of hotel dont deserve star rating but maybe its obvious Europe standards.
very clean good facilities
as a mature couple we felt it not suitable for us as its mainly family orientated. rooms very small but clean shower not great
i liked the atmosphere, location and the food was great.
i have to say reception is a bit of a nightmare. when you check in its so slow and then if you require assistance the staff are either too busy looking after the check in or just ignore you for a while, not enough staff at desk in my opinion
I would recommend Sol Principe for families with young children. The pool was great - and a nice "kiddie" area.
great view of beach and sea
limited restaurant options
