This is a brand new hotel in Cadiz’ historical city centre, right by the best shopping centres and historical areas. The bus and train station is 5 minutes away and the airport is 40 km away. The hotel has a variety of services, including buffet breakfast, buffet dinner or à la carte dinner. “Aquaplaya”, a superb and exclusive urban spa is available, with its numerous services and treatments(Mondays Closed). Our customers can also enjoy our outdoor swimming pool (only in summer).

Hotel information

The lobby of Hotel Spa Senator Cádiz is a cosy Andalusian patio, typical of the historical quarter of Tacita de Plata. All of the different parts of the hotel are accessed through the patio. There is a restaurant and a bar on site.

We also have several function rooms, perfectly equipped for business meetings or presentations, with a variety of coffee breaks and business menus. We also have the only urban Spa in the town (at a charge), for you to relax in unbeatable surroundings. We have many relaxing and beauty treatments for you to enjoy. The Spa has an Indo-roman pool, a jacuzzi, fruit pool, rounded stone pool, a foot bath, steam room, large relaxing pool…..(Mondays Closed)

At the top of the hotel there is an outdoor pool (only open during the summer) with magnificent views of the old quarter of Cadiz.

Food & beverage

Our restaurant offers a meticulous service and fine cuisine for our guests. Breakfast (from 07.30 to 10.30 and 08:00 to 11:00 at weekends) has a wide selection of produce and live cooking. For lunch (between 13.30 and 16:00) and evening meal (between 20:00 and 23:00) we have a buffet with live cooking or an à la carte menu (depending on the season).

Our Bar-Cafeteria Gadir (open between 08:00 and 24:00) offers a wide selection of products as well as a full list of beers and cocktails.

Room information

The hotel offers 91 rooms for 182 persons.
The rooms are spacious and perfectly equipped with two 1.35x2 m beds or two 1.05x2 m beds or one 1.80x2 m bed. There are also interconnecting rooms for families. All rooms are equipped with all common facilities.Bathrobe upon request.

It was in the centre of the old town & the spa facilities were really nice.

the noise levels in the hotels were very high & it was hard to sleep when there were people around downstairs.

The room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was surprisingly large, and there was more than adequate storage space for clothing. Staff is accomodating, contrary to other reviews I had read. Proximity of hotel to Palacio des Congresos, restaurants and shops can't be beat. Hotel is fairly green, with lights that automatically shut off and requests to use towels, etc. multiple times.

Minor cosmetic blemishes (such as hand rail in elevator being repaired with duct tape).

Did not like attitude of person serving breakfast,also coffee was cold and awful every morning.I did attempt to cancel breakfast booking,but met with the most arrogant man I have ever metrudest/most arrogant man i have ever met.

We enjoyed the spa facilities and the hotel location was very good.

The staffing of the hotel was not very good, there were too few staff trying to do everything and not really achieving anything, the same staff were manning the dining room, cafe/bar area at the same time and tables were full of breakfast items so when you came down to breakfast there were free tables but with all dirty crockery on them and not newly laid out for new people.

Location good. Courtyard very nice. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The pool, though great to have in a city hotel, was unfortunately dirty with very visible scum floating in a corner of the pool on the day we were there. There were no towels provided at the pool. The beds were a bit on the hard side, enough to give you a sore hips when lying sideways overnight.

For a four star hotel it was a bit shabby in places. For example the lift had tape on the doors, and the rail was held up with temporary supports.

Parking expensive, €16 per night, and only for small cars. When booking with Booking.com, we booked 3 nights and got either free breakfast or one use of the spa. We got neither because this was a 2007 offer, and the information had not been changed on the booking pages for 2008. I rang booking.com but as yet I have had no response.

It was convenient for the sites.

The towels were not changed even when they were wet. Not clear on the cooked breakfast situation. The lack of parking and the expense of the parking is obviously an issue which you cannot change.
