This hotel is set 325 ft from Santa María del Mar Beach and a 20-minute walk from Cádiz Old Town. The Monte Puertatierra provides free Wi-Fi in all areas.
Score from 929 reviews Very good
Hotel La Catedral is set in Cádiz’s charming Old Town, right next to Cádiz Cathedral. Its rooftop terrace has a small outdoor pool with jets and amazing views of the cathedral and the Atlantic Ocean.
Score from 602 reviews Very good
Just 100 yards from Playa de la Victoria Beach, this modern designer hotel offers spacious rooms with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen satellite TV. The historic center of Cadiz is a 15 minute walk away.
Score from 446 reviews Good
A charming hotel that is ideally located in the heart of the historic old town of Cadiz, which enraptures the traveler with its warm mix of Andalucian, colonial and classical styles.
Score from 477 reviews Excellent
Massive room, bathroom and beds. Central location, excellent staff. But, if arriving by car make sure it is small. Hotel car park is underground by means of a lift. Not for the claustrophobic
Friendly and helpful staff. Central location. Decent breakfast.
Nothing in particular but it needs a bit of an update to maintain its 4* rating as really it is only 3*. Rooms are a bit dated.
big room, good location, pool on the roof
simple breakfast, breakfast tables dirty, no drinking water in the room/have to buy
Staff very polite, quick and helpful
Children were aloud into the spa, age limit ignored
Large rooms in the old part of the hotel, great breakfast, just in the edge of the old city and very close to all locations
View is not nice since the hotel is very close to the commercial port, the view from the roof swimming pool is quite ugly
The firm beds, the unbeatable location and the rooftop pool with spectacular views of Cadiz.
Decor was a little corporate and the pillows were old and hard.
Location was central and easy walk to anywhere in old Cadiz. Staff pleasant, helpful. Parking available but not easy to find. Cadiz was lovely.
The pool was a disappointment, pictures made it look both much larger than it was and more inviting. In reality it was not much more than a plunge pool, with a questionable view of tops of buildings. No ambience in bar / food area. Although even if there was we would only have used it briefly.
Pool, wifi, staff very helpful
Long walk to beach
Very expensive hotel. Not very good deals. Parking far from hotel, no Bell boys...you need to carry luggage yourself...a 4****not really. Very beautiful spa...only to look at but very very noisy and the receptionist couldnt care less....when i complained about people making noise...if you go to a spa you want to relax....not having groups of people splashing and shouting....
Not much to like except for the lobby
We had two connecting rooms--one smelled like smoke and the staff was not responsive to this at all. The hotel offers parking for 18 euros but to access it you have to try to squeeze into a narrow car elevator from a tiny little side street. The whole experience was just traumatic and spoiled our ability to relax and enjoy our trip. Glad we only stayed one night!
Location was good. Walking distance to various shops.
Hotel room was close to lift. Every time the lift was in use evening/night we could hear it/woke up due to noise. Also, thin walls with noisy neighbours woke us up at 3am.
Perfectly situated Firendly staff Comfortable rooms Small, but nice pool Great roof terrace
A bit too expensive for what you get Extremely small and narrow entrance to the parking.
The hotel is very well located to walk through the city centre and visit the main points on it.
It feels as if the facilities have been recently renovated however it still gives the sense of an old place, having said that the stay was still enjoyable. The big cons are related to the booking process, it estipulates on the website that American Express is accepted when thats not the case and on specific rates you are asked to pay upfront the booking amount despite the fact that the booking process advises that will be paid on the hotel; you really need to go to the back end of the small print to find this out which makes it a bad surprise when you are being chased for payments.
Location and the fact there was a pool.
The shower was in very poor condition. There was black mould on the door and the door did not close properly, with the result that when you took a shower the whole bathroom floor flooded. The colour if the walls in the room was very dark and made the room very dark and dull. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable.
The pool was a bonus
Room was very dated and a bit dark and gloomy
An attractive and unusual hotel in an interesting and authentic city - not spoiled by the tourism industry, but either good restaurants and great beaches. The rooms were comfortable with good aircon and breakfast was very good - particularly enjoyed hot food made to order and the fresh orange machine! The underground spa is well worth a visit. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.
Just two things: 1) I simply can't understand why there are no umbrellas or other shade installed on the roof terrace. The pool and sun-beds are there but it becomes unusable in the heat of the midday. It would really add value 2) Parking is difficult and public car parks are expensive
Big spacious family room, great location in the old town. Nice rooftop pool with nice views.
Gymnasium equipment was old and mostly inoperative. External pool poor and overcrowded. Remember 4 star in Spain is not 4 star equivalent in England but none the less price is fair. All is available but any extras mean pay extra - previous review did warn me of that.
Good breakfasts and pleasant tables in patio. Staff helpful in getting a good rate on rental car. Pool on roof top is small but cooling after a morning of sightseeing and offers great views of city.
No shade at all on rooftop by pool.
Good location, great breakfast and good size room
we were offered an upgrade to a suite which we accepted, however the suite over looked the indoor courtyard and was noisy from the people dining in the courtyard otherwise a great room very however very poor wifi access
The location is great.
The cleaning of the room could improve.
Fresh fruit salad provided in room upon arrival, which we ate, but the plate and cutlery was left in the room for 3 days. Wifi connection not good 1 small lift to rooms
Great location, lovely rooftop pool, modern hotel with traditional touches.
More luxury as per other four star hotels
Room coffee poor, no carpets. Dining area grim
Perfect location, great roof top with a nice pool. If you go to Cádiz, stay in one of these old city center hotels.
Very difficult to enter the hotel garage car elevator. Take your time...
