Location , ambiance, decor and food.
We expect a hotel of this calibre to show us to our room and not just give us a key. Front reception not very friendly.
location & hotel ambience - beautiful hotel
on one night - unacceptable noise levels(hammering) due to tidying up in the aftermath of hotel conference at 1am! Not at those prices!
The location the interior design and the breakfast
You can not fix your self a cup of coffee or tea in the room, there is no coffee machine nor an electric pot.
When you want to feel like a king or a queen in a palace, with all the luxury and comfort, you have to choose for Alfonso XIII !
Nothing! (The hotel has a rule: 'Life is a collection of experiences, let us be your guide' And they are the best guide you can wish.)
This hotel is something of an institution in Seville and is probably worth a trip to see even if you're not staying here. It's expensive but you get what you pay for. Immaculate facilities; quality service; a wonderful alfresco courtyard for drinks/dining. The bar is a marvel and the restaurant compares with the best Seville can offer.
The hotel could make it a bit easier for drivers to find the main entrance. You do have to cross a small part of the pedestrian zone to enter the drive-way. Don't get funneled into the underground public car-park as we did!
Central location, large comfortable room, attentive staff, impressive building and lovely alfresco bar!
There was nothing to dislike about our stay. It was amazing!
This hotel is literally a crown jewel and deserves all its five star ratings. They have maintained its historic beauty while updating it with modern conveniences. Worth the spurge.
Paying for wifi - it should be free for all guests.
location bar terrace
room bed pillow guest services
First impressions were good but things started to unfold during our 3 day stay. Desk staff polite when told of problems but achieved little.
A chipped bath, shutter to terrace broken which fell on head. Handles on drawers fallen off. Breakfast staff, of which too few, could not cope with large numbers. Chaos
Lack of spa facilities &Gym. Bathtub curtains not clean and need to be changed to glass barrier.breakfast silverwear not suitable and needs upgrade.
everything! the building architecture and furnishings are stunning and historical, yet we enjoyed entirely modern amenities; restaurants and bars were great; location perfect
driving to the hotel was challenging since a part of the old city
Nice hotel with a very efficient and attentive staff. Excellent location to explore Seville from. We ate in two of the restaurants for dinner and enjoyed the food.
Lack of free wifi.
Beautiful room, very quiet and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Splendid pool area. Terrific location. The staff at breakfast were extremely helpful and friendly. The refurb has been done very nicely - everything works perfectly.
We found the reception staff a little cool and distant, not helped by the high desk behind which they hide. There is a new outside restaurant area near the pool which has reduced the amount of space for sun loungers.
The pool area The wonderful historic building The location to sites of Seville The rooms The reaction rooms
Facilities, location, service and an excellent buffet breakfast
1. Architecture of the palace, 2. Excellent buffet breakfast, 3. Nice staff.
1. 350€/night gets you a lot more comfort and modern facilities in New York, London or Hong Kong. 2. The window handle fell off on my foot... 3. No pillow menu
This is a lovely 5 star hotel. A beautiful building, great staff, amazing huge comfy beds, wonderful pool area and one of the best cocktail bars I have ever been in (proper 1930s art deco with the soundtrack to match). A real treat. There is free wifi, but it's not advertised and you have the chargeable option pre-ticked when you go to get on it.
At the rates they charge I would expect breakfast to be included. €24 is pretty steep when you consider that you can get a great Andalusian breakfast at many cafes nearby for about €6. Some of the other guests would do well to remember that money doesn't mean ill-mannered. There's no cause to be rude, dismissive and self-entitled (to both staff and guests) just because it's a 5 star hotel.
Everything about it
The cost....but worth it
Can't fault hotel , best bed , pillows so comfortable, very relaxed but still class act
Did not have long enough
Very luxurious with excellent facilities and a perfect location between the river and the cathedral
Staff, bars, restaurants, changed land and stayed extra night , lovely hotel
The rooms are huge. The beds are comfortable. The courtyard restaurant is beautiful. The hotel is a perfect blend of modern and historic, Andalusian and luxury.
The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and no staff members offered any directions to guests. They claim to be an English and Spanish language hotel but very few of the staff speaks English and those that do speak it marginally at best. When asked about tours, the concierge only offered one large group option; at a luxury hotel you expect multiple options including a private car and tour guide. I felt unsafe walking in the area around the hotel at night. The water pressure in the shower was less than ideal.
Great location . Beautiful building. Great pool bar, main restaurant . Ena by Carles Alleban ... amazing food and ambience. Thursday nights on the terrace with a great looking impeccably turned out local crowd.
Plastic curtains in a 5 star hotel? A bath towel with a big rip in it! A toilet that didn't flush easily. Surprisingly disappointing breakfast where the hot food was concerned. Green beans, peas, fried rice? Scrambled eggs swimming in milk! Get a decent coffee making machine. Otherwise a good selection.
Absolute 5-star luxury heaven!
design hotel tropical garden pool breakfast buffet table is good
a la carte food, little offer, slowly restaurant service, long wating for food
