The Casón del Tormes is in a tranquil area in the heart of Madrid, between Plaza de España and the Royal Palace. Its spacious rooms let in plenty of natural light.

The elegant Palacio San Martín is in a quiet pedestrian street in central Madrid. It is across from the beautiful Descalzas Reales Convent, a 5-minute walk from Puerta del Sol Square.

Perfect location, good heating system, big and good bed, a lot of grocerys right next to the hotel.
People in spain love to close the doors as strong and as loud as they can:)
For what it is.
Nice furnished & big suite; well situated, next to beautiful Gran Via.
When other guests went into their rooms I could hear each door...and also the cleaning ladies - very loud! when I told this one employee, her reaction was without any comprehension, absolutely arrogant...
Perfect location , the good price The friendly people in the reception wid and big room
I can hear the cleaning ladies while they clean other rooms in the morning plus i can hear people out sid during night time .
Perfect location, next to metro Plaza Espanol. Friendly staff. We didn't have breakfast here because we had to go to another location. Nice rooms, with small kitchen. You can borrow a cooker at the reception to make tea. Good wifi.
The beds were hard, my friend didn't mind but for me the beds were not comfortable.
The decor of the room is sober and kept in warm tones. The mattress is the most comfortable I've slept on for quite a while. Staff is very helpful and friendly
Water pressure too low (3rd floor only, so height shouldn't be a problem). Room distribution a bit awkward, probably owing to the fact that the hotel is in an old building and original walls had to be preserved
Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, excellent location
Clean, convenient apart-hotel, very good location, close to the metro and walking distance to Gran Via, a lot of grocery stores in the area including 2 Chinese restaurants; also very close to the tour office for our day tour to Avila and Segovia; very helpful English-speaking staff esp. the young man who we only saw on our last day; noise was not an issue with the windows closed; area is in a busy zone but we never felt unsafe esp with the police station nearby
The kitchen was not functional, we were only able to use the microwave, no coffee maker, no toaster
The room was big en very comfortable. Personal was helpfull. Location couldn't be better. Very clean.
2 min to the metro, eateries all around, 2 mini marts downstairs, quiet well decorated large room and toilet, central location etc. Staff were very helpful especially Ms Justyna who also go an additional mile to exceed customers' expectations. Wonderful experience indeed! Very highly recommended!
Breakfast is served at affiliate hotel 1 min walk away. A slight inconvenience.
The hotel is in the city center, near to many of the turistic attraction of the city. The rooms are very big and confortable. The structure has been recently restructured. Internet is perfectly working and is for free. Very close to the Metro station Plaza de Espana.
The breakfast is served in another building, 2 min far by walk. Small hall, no lounge.
The staff...Thank you all. And the location.
Housekeeping being late in doing the room. Employ more staff
Although the room had a very good kitchenette facility, the lack of any equipment (cups, saucers, kettle, bowls, cutlery) made it a little pointless. We were able to ask for cups and saucers and a kettle but overall we couldn't understand why this was not part of the set up.
Central location, easy access to Metro
Noise from the street, appalling WiFi speeds (my mobile on roaming was faster than the WiFi), strange smell in apartment, after cleaning on the first day they took away towels but did not replace them with fresh ones!
Good location, near subway, room was clean and large (but see my next comment about being giving a room with black water coming from the faucets)
I've stayed before and had an okay experience, but this time I arrived to a room with black water coming from the faucets. (Ran the water for awhile & it stayed dirty). They had no other rooms and were not apologetic or concerned, did not offer compensation. Basically couldn't use the plumbing and had to beg (at check out, on the phone with the manager, after several conversations with staff) for compensation for the 1st night in which I was given a room with no useable water. I was permitted to move rooms the next day, but when inquiring with the front desk, they instructed housekeeping just to follow their regular schedule and not to worry about it ("not a problem") -- so I didn't get a decent room (and the ability to shower) until about 4pm the day after my arrival!!!! I was told "housekeeping is on the 3rd floor right now, so won't get to your floor until later" -- really? After such an inconvenience the housekeeper can't make it a priority to get me into a room with running water? Also the room was very hot and stuffy (even in october) and the air conditioning is controlled by reception. (The thermostat in the room is misleading). I had to ask about 10 times to get them to turn the air on. Finally, when I payed, their credit card machine was broken, and the man was trying to hide the message from me that said "offline" and pretended like it was my credit card being declined. This experience was just awful. Staff was "nice" but extremely unprofessional. This is a poorly managed hotel. Bed was extremely hard. Wifi was good at times, but not useable at peak periods.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable beds and very close to Julia Travel and restaurants
No complaints at all
Room size, bathroom, fridge
Mattress was to hard for our liking
Cleanliness Location Staff Wi-Fi Comfort
No computers available at the hotel, the Hotel El Coloso is very outdated and barely functions.
Staff were extremely nice and helpful when we had any requests.
The rooms at the front of the hotel can be a bit noisy for light sleepers.
central location and very close to the metro station plaza de espana and a 10 minute walk to puerta del sol. room was larger than normal equipped with a kitchenette. very clean
CANT IMAGING I COULD LIVE IN A FAMALY ROOM WITH KITCHEN AT SUCH A LOW PRICE!!!
Location is good. Walkable distance (10-15 minutes) to the city centre. There is a supermarket nearby.
friendly staff, good price, nice location
Excellent location and transportation, the majority of famous places are within walking distances. Reception desk persons are kind and helpful. Very good price/value ratio. Quiet room with microwave, kitchenette and reasonably sized bathroom. Metro stations are on both ends of the street. Gran Via is only 100 m, Royal Palace is unly 500 m from the hotel. You can even walk to Puerta del Sol. We were satisfied and recommend this place. A Puerta del Sol akár gyalog is megközelíthető. A kis utca mindkét végén metró megálló, sokáig nyitva tartó kis boltok találhatók. A reptérről metróval az utca végéig el lehet jutni, onnan a szálló alig száz méterre van. Mindenkinek tudjuk ajánlani a helyet.
