“We only needed a hotel for an overnight stay prior to return to UK after Cruise holday. The location was ideal both for sightseeing, dining and nearness to airport. and docks. Breakfast was excellent and accommodation more than adequate fro our stay”

An excellent location. Cleanliness of bed rooms. Very noisy outside at night (clearly beyhond the control of the hotel) *No kettle *No fridge *No internet access without payment *No use of safe without additional payment * we would expect to find these in any moderate hotel elsewhere in the world these days

The main reason of chosing Hotel Suizo was it's location. And the location is clearly great - metro station is right next door, 3 mins to Cathedral squere, and other main sight-seeing objects are really close by. The rest about the hotel for my opinion qualifies for 2 stars rating.

Friendly Helpfull staff... Everyone. Room on the second floor overlooking the square (no noise to speak of) excelent location. No Refrigerator in room. The bathroom was bordering on being shabby. Tub / shower water leaks out and onto floor... Has caused damage to the floor in the bed room. Corp. Management needs to less of a draw and put up needed money for capitol improvements and maintenance.

The location at the Plaça del ángel, right in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, equal walking distance to Carrer Montcada and the Ramblas, is the obvious attraction. The hotel has some vestiges of its century-old history, too, although it's been renovated many times during that period, and it now has a look of comfort/budget, rather than luxury. Liked the large bed (not terribly good mattress) and large tub; fixtures and lighting worked well; and I found the complaints about the street noise exaggerated, although my room did not face Ferrán, which may have been noisier. Nonetheless, there were civil disturbances along Laietana during my stay, and neither kept me up. I was pleased that I asked for a large bed (not two twins tied together--a typical Spainish hotel sleight), and they gave me a good-size matrimonio. Again, the interior, while not seedy, doesn't shout elegance, either, except at the front desk and the bar/lounge area. In that respect, it compares unfavorably to the otherwise comparable Raco del Pi, which has done much more to install a spa feel. The bar soap supplied (sporadically) by the staff was not very large nor high quality, and I found it expedient to obtain a bar at a drugstore. The elevator was a little cramped and went out of service twice during my week; not a big deal, the Suizo only has 4 floors.

Excellent location (subway station right in front of the hotel, Pl. Catalunya is at only 700 m away, beach at only 2 subway stations, Rambla at 3 walking minutes, etc) & the reception staff was very helpful and nice. No internet, no mini-bar, very small room, strange smell coming from the a/c, poor breakfast. Also if you need to ask the hotel manager something, you better not...

You can't beat the location-right in front of the cathedral and the Jaume I metro. No amenities and no Internet was a bummer but I would stay there again for a good rate because of the location. No Internet and some surly staff.

The hotel Suiso is in a great location. I booked the Hotel for my elderly grandparents who were visiting myself and my girlfriend in Barcelona for the weekend. The problems began to start when my girlfriend called the hotel to ask a few questions (in Spanish as she is a native speaker), when they asked for the name of the person who made the booking my girlfriend said my name to which they replied we have no booking. We had the conformation in front of us and so were trying to explain this to the person on the phone when he began to shout at her rather rudely. Eventually we were able to explain after another phone call that the booking was in my name and the guest name was in my grandparents. This took some time though because the people on the other end were keen not to let her speak. On the day of my grandparents arrival the worst thing happened when they arrived at the hotel after a long flight we got to the check in desk where a grumpy rude man barked at us for our paperwork, let me add that this was not the same man on the phone a few days previous. When he read the print out of our reservation he said there are no guests under this name and pushed the paper work in our faces and walked off. Again my girlfriend explained to him in Spanish that I made the booking and these were the guests this took some time as he got very aggressive and ruder, when my girlfriend asked to make a complaint he laughed and said complain if you like but i am the director. To say we were disgusted is an understatement had my grandparents not been so old 80 and 82 respectively I would have removed them from the hotel immediately and looked for somewhere else to stay.

Location is indeed excellent. The rooms are nice looking and clean. The breakfast is not so great, but that's to be expected from a 3-star hotel. The hotel is plain standard and exactly what is to be expected from a hotel with this rating. We enjoyed our stay and had no problems.. The staff lacked touristic knowledge..

“Its location just off La Ramblas and the design inside - it was very modern - because of its location in the heart of the old town of Barcelona must of the buildings are tall and narrow and old - this hotel inside deal not feel like that - they have done a great job of creating a modern convenient hotel in an old building” Vanessa, Stevenage |
