I liked the location - the hotel is located exactly on Jaume1 metro station in the Gothic quarter. The hotel itself is OK, if you are not expecting anything special.
Single rooms may come without any window and therefore I don't recommend the hotel for single travelers. Rooms for 3 are nice and have large windows. Regarding the service, I phoned the reception and asked for a wake-up call in the morning. However, the person at the reception forgot to write it down, so I didn't get the call as promised.
Excellent location to Taskim square. Staff were very helpful. Would recommend this hotel if you need a comfortable and clean hotel.
Location was perfect for us. Metro station right outside the front door. Close to beach area, Gothic and El Born. Would definitely recommend it.
Wifi was hopeless. I had purchased a SIM card through Orange which was great all through Spain until the last few days. Having to fall back to using Wifi at this hotel was frustrating.
first, when i arrived, they gave us a room at top floor, small room, dirty and an iron bar with which i suppose to open a so called" window",which was a hole in the roof,i went down and i told ,the receptionist(an older man, very impolite),that i want the room they sent my the picture when i booked on the net,and anyway i want a 140$ a night room(this is what i paid(100 euro +city tax),the receptionist told me that he is busy and this is the only free room,ok i started using the f"word and i told him that me and my wife will sleep, down at the reception hall until next day, when i will call the spanish tourist board and i will complain and get my money back.in the next five minutes they found a better room at the first floor, and next morning they apologized and offered me and my wife free breakfast just to forget /i refused the free breakfast for two/so i can write this hoping that,booking.com will take this hotel off its list
Size, good beds, great breakfast, and a wonderful sun terrace, on the 5th floor.
check in was a hassle. Bad communication skills on the part of the staff.
very good location
For Wifi need to pay.
Absolutely convenient location and atmosphere, just next to Jaume Metro station, very easy and quick access to all major historic sights both by metro or simply on foot. You can just breathe in the atmosphere of the Old Gothic quarter, and short walk to La Rambla. Port also just few minutes on foot with all those leisure facilities. Hotel staff friendly and hepful.
Room we had was quite small and basic, as well as bathroom, but what you need is a good bed and these were fantastic! Light sleepers rather shut the balcony window before sleep because the streets around are very busy and noisy till late as well as early in the morning. Bath with shower ok, just toiletries rather poor, better get yours. Breakfast in the hotel across the street was quite expensive for the choice, better option is to go to nearby cafes and have nice panini or pastry and coffee. All in all, still highly recommended, location pays it all! :)
We had a very small room 3.floor facing the traffic very nozy.
Too small double room. Too much noise even with closed windows. Paid, slow WiFi. Breakfast is in another building. Old furniture and equipment. AC blows in smoky air. Mini-bar locked down. Issues with credit card payment. Cracks on walls. Bed quality bed.
Easy walk to the Ramblas and the beach. Metro right next to the hotel
Bathroom very small
Location was convenient
Room was so tiny, you could hear every noise from outside and inside.
Location is excellent .
The bed is soft, only 1 pillow and.smells like urine.you couldhear the noise from the street and building.receptionist has hard time explaining in english.
Staff very helpful. My husband enjoyed the good breakfasts. Hotel near to most visits of interest.
Location in the very center of city. The entrance to the underground train is just in front of the hotel door. Good for people who spend the whole day outside and come back just to spend a night.
Significant noise from the street during the night coming from drunk people passing by if you get room at lower levels. Rooms dark and old fashioned Very small bathroom - you must develop a system to move around inside it. Breakfast served in the other hotel (about 50m). Strange but real - younger staff speaks English worse than elder men in the reception.
Great location. Room at the front of the hotel.
Very small bathroom
The location. Good for getting around & the airport. Good bakery & local cafe just outside with the Jaume 1 metro stop at the front door.
Lack of touch phone in Hotel, needed to contact UK automated bank was unable to completed my call but still incurred 18 euros charge. No sensor on lift doors got hit quite hard on arm as doors closed. Hotel is in need of a refurbishment.
The proximity to the Barri Gotic, the port and marinas, the Cathedral and the market was excellent. There were many, many options for eating within 5 minutes of the Hotel. A Metro station was immediately below if you wanted quick movement around the City.
The rooms cannot keep out the noise of Barcelona in the very small hours. Even with double glazing the plaza outside was heard in every detail, as well as the noisy neighbours in the room next door, till around 2-3pm. The bed too was on the noisy side - any movement during sleep was a noisy one. However, cava and beer soon overcame the noise problem!
The location was fantastic. The metro station right at the front door and in the beautiful gothic quarter.
Sometimes woken at night by party goers. Some of the reception staff were useless.
Excellent location. Room is basic but large, clean and quite comfortable. I read from reviews that it could be noisy because it's in a very busy area, so I requested for a room in high floor. It has no window but it's quiet.
Internet connection is expensive. Safe deposit box is quite small and is chargeable. But it's a good hotel overall.
Location, location, location! The location was excellent and for the most part, the staff was very friendly. One in particular (sorry I cant remember bis name) was very helpful, not only with suggestions for Barcelona, but also for travels outside of town, into Costa Brava and elsewhere.
The hotel is situated in quite the 'happening' place and was quite loud (traffic, people outside yelling loudly throughout the night). I didnt get a wink of sleep while we were on a 1st floor room. We stayed there again a couple of weeks later and the 2nd floor room we were in was better. Also our first time through, three if us were crammed into a tiny little room; the 2nd visit and room had a lot more space and was much more comfortable.
the best location in Barcelona - 10 minuts to barcelonetta, 10 to Boqueria, 3 to La Seu , you do not need public transport, very good price for 3* hotel in Barcelona centrum
bathroom smells bad, no minibar or small fridge in the room , and finally two times we saw small mouse in our room ...
shower needs updating
Excellent location. Pleasant staff. Comfortable beds.
Room rather small but certainly adequate for sleeping. WiFi expensive.
Good location. Metro next door. Nice cool room with aircom. Good value for money
