The style and decor
Felt the restaurant could be improved, although breakfast was very good
Great hotel, good value for money.Great breakfast and lovely evening meal. Convenient for old town.
The approach to the hotel from the top road was extremely steep. And a disused building at the upper side of the hotel gave that area a scruffy appearance.which is a shame because the hotel is lovely
Friendly and helpful staff and relaxing atmosphere. Food was excellent.
A little too far away from town necessitating a car to get to anything. Bar often not 'manned' so had to ask at reception to get a drink.
Staff, service and accommodation
It isn't a 10 mins walk to the old town.
very relaxed atmosphere ,hotel was spotless as was the room, the staff were very pleasant ,we had short walk to altea center in the evening, about 10 mins, which was pleasant and on our return we sat and had a drink on the terrace.in all we really liked the hotel i would say it was a place to relax .we are going back in september
The staff, the hotel, free parking, lovely breakfast. The location is a bit of a walk to the seaside (15 minutes) and to the city center (10 minutes) but we did not mind the walk after eating and drinking.
Not much really, except for the elevator which only goes to the first floor. If you stay on the second floor, it will be a struggle to carry a heavy suitcase up the steps.
Just a beautiful place! Gave us a feeling of calm luxury the whole week. The staff are present, service minded, smiling and nice. From the balcony we saw the sunset over the mountains of Ayetana. Just beautiful. Clean and nice swimming pool aria. Tasteful breakfast in the shadow on the terrace / in the garden. 4 minutes walk from the most beautiful town in Costa blanca: the old city of Altea. Hundreds of nice places to eat and drink, and the best Mochito we've ever tasted. We will recommend the Hotel to our friends and family in Oslo / Norway.
Everything outstanding good. Staff helpful and very nice. Clean room and good garden. Private swimming pool. Dinner was very good too.
Difficult to find, first time, but that was my fault and my Garmin !
Peaceful and tranquil. Mainly adults Spotless Ginger cat
We travelled with elderly friends - a bit of a long walk to get to the shops!
This hotel is ideally located for the ' old town ' and the beach / harbours and the new town shops. ( it is as described in the brochure ) A excellent place to stay and unwind.
Excellent location quiet peaceful.Pleasant walking distance to old Altea. Manageress very helpfull.A bit difficult to find. Sat Nav coulnt locate hotel but well sign posted from the town.Carnt wait to return.
Close to the town, but still very peaceful. Splendid breakfast. Lovely swimming pool in a beautiful location. Public rooms and bedrooms are a delight.
Graffiti covered ruined house alongside the hotel, distracts from the abeyance of this splendid hotel and it's location in the fields.
Hotel beautiful, room lovely, gratis minibar appreciated. Hotel ginger cat exceptional :) The whole place smelt of orange-blossom. Breakfast good and wide choice.
Towels very hard and scratchy. The little ramp going up to the road is very steep. A handrail would be useful.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and spacious.
It was quite difficult to find, and we could not walk into Altea because it was too far.
Absolutely fabulous ,so relaxing and very clean and comfortable ,food was very good at both breakfast and dinner ,will be back for sure .....
would have liked coffee making facilities in room ,but this is by far a minor issue compared to the plus side of this fine hotel ..
Lovely, peaceful setting and good views. Helpful and friendly staff
Great idea to provide towelling robes but I'm only a UK size 10 and mine didn't close over and as for my partner's! Well it provided a few laughs but was a bit disappointing that they weren't 'normal adult' size!
Great Spainish hotel ! Very welcoming and food was heavenly - want to go again when it's warmer and use the pool !
We enjoey being on the edge of the old town and the magnificent views from the bedrooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We loved the Spanish decor and the pool area was lovely-- would be excellent in the summer
The food was not really to our liking although breakfast was fine. The set menu was good value . Excellent soups !
A chilled out place in an outstanding beautiful location. The food was 1 st class & the staff so kind& helpful. Defo going back
It was such a lovely surprise. We enjoyed two excellent festive meals which included very good wines. it was a delightful experience and everyone was so friendly.
Bar area could be made a little more intimate.
The charming staff, especially senora who seemed to be everywhere and doing everything in such a friendly and professional manner. The hotel itself - a restored olive mill - with its restaurant full of character. Our bedroom which was roomy with a lovely view of the mountains and simply furnished. Dinner in the restaurant was very good and the wine list was great too. There is a menu de hoy (menu del dia) as well as the a la carte option. Different olive oils made locally at dinner each night An easy 10 minute walk to the heart of the old town and its church which you can see for miles around.
We stayed in mid December for 2 nights and I wouldn't walk the last 1/4 mile to the hotel from the old town at night without a torch - the road/country lane is unlit but still has a great deal of local traffic on it so you would need to take care. It didn't bother us particularly as it was a great excuse to stay and eat in the excellent restaurant on both nights!
Very nice place Very good staff Restaurant is ok but the dishes have not high quality. Better a pizza in some restaurant in the Altea dowtown. Good cleaning. WI-FI free in the rooms.
The shower needs repairing and so it leaked a lot. The heating of the water was not efficient. The lamp at the desk was missing the bulb The batteries of the air ventilator in the bathroom was discharged. The address is not on the Sat Nav: very tricky to find it.
Polite reception staff Lovely room
Breakfast. bread stale, no cereal bowls had to use coffee cups. no breakfast tea bags, muesli stale, just horrid. ruins what is a great hotel, needs improvement before we consider staying there again.
Dinner was served by hotel owner who was charming. The meal was delicious and the dining room was elegant. Bedroom was cosy and comfortable. Will stay again and would recommend place to friends.
Access to hotel by rough road
Location was ideal with lovely views. The restaurant was good value.
Lack of storage in bathroom - nowhere to put shower gel or shampoo in shower cubicle.
