location is good, just in front of metro station Urgell, close to bars in L´Eixample and close to centre but walk.
- hostel operating by old couple who do not understand single word in English - old and poor furniture and facilities - wifi is good but they turned it of around mindnight...
It was a nice appartment with in a very good location. The hosts were very kind and welcomming.
The hosts didn't speak english. They only spoke fast spanish and if it weren't for my friend who could speak some spanish the check-in would have taken much longer. It already took quite long, about an hour as they were trying to explain everything.
They are very friendly
English does't work.
This place is owned by this sweet old couple. They dont speak english at all but are animated enough to explain all needed things. Location is great, you get right next to the hotel with the airport bus and there is metro entrance 5 meters from the main door. The room we had was ok size with 2 night tables, one dresser with enough closet space, smaller area with a table and two chairs with 180° view out and tiny balconies on both sides of this small room where you could go to get some air. Only one shared bathroom but seemed to be enough for this small hotel, it was clean enough as well as the shower. There was never any shortage of toilet paper or such and there was even shampoo and such ready in the shower. Showers water temperature seems to fluctuate at some points but not that horribly often. Matresses are rather hard but that was fine by us. If you want very well maintained hotel room with any luxory this is not for you but if you are looking for convenient location, ok clean room to sleep in, to keep your luggage in, that is quiet (not a party hostel/hotel) in acceptable price then you should deffinately consider this one.
-bit difficult to find but if you have the adress you will find the correct door, there is numbers above the door, then you have to press a buzzer that says Pention and say something about hotel booking and they will let you in -water temperature fluctuated at some points when showering -garbage truck comes every night at 23.00 and makes bit of noise on the street under the balcony -there was old telephone ringing quite some times at certain points before 0.00 -bit of noise from the street when cars go by even when doors closed between small room and the bedroom, i slept earplugs on which was enough
It is close to the city centre.
HIGHLY NON RECOMMANDABLE. The pension has only 1 star, but they charge you for much more they offer you! The staff is represented by 2 elders who dont speak ENGLISH, ONLY Spanish!!!! The whole pension is old and smells like an old closet. The rooms are small, with old and dirty furniture. The bed linen is full of stains and they dont clean the rooms daily!!! The bathroom is very dirty. They dont have a common kitchen. You cant sleep well because of the noise outside.
Hostel was very nice, in good localization, clean and with helpful staff. Next to hostel there is big market, subway and bus to airport. The rooms were very pretty, nice design and clean.
there was no kitchen
The location – very close to the metro station (literally 'stone's throw'!), and within easy reach to Plaza Catalunya, and even Plaza Espanya.
My credit card had got charged €45 three days before our arrival – that's not something I had expected. Internet charged at €1/day now turns out to be free for all. The elderly Spanish couple running the place are very nosey and far too talkative; not to mention neither of them can speak a word of English. Apparently, there was a kitchenette - we never found it! Room door totally insecure – one could literally hit the door a bit harder and surely it'd give in. Room veery loud, both day and night. To summarise – we stayed there twice: the first and the last time (at the same time, that is!!).
The location is excellent, especially for those who are visiting Barcelona for the first time. It is about a 5 minute walk from plaza Catalunya and it situated on the main gran via road.
The lady who runs the hostel can only speak Spanish and they lost our booking. But they were extremely patient with us and resolved the issue.
Location, the staff, the room
location Value for money
Needed English speaking staff 2 door keys would have been better Could not locate communal kitchen
the price is reasonable and the hotel is located in a convenient place
the personnel there can't speak English nor French
Shared bathroom is clean, the location is quite and safe.
In this hotel don't have 24 hours reception, they only speak Spanish, but the lady was very nice and patient .
I like the stuff they are nice old couple trying to do their best for the pension.
-The wifi didnt have signal in my room. - First couple of days it was problem with the hot water. - It was loud during some nights - some sounds from the others apartments. - Last days the bathroom was so clean
Nice, clean room, very friendly staff.
The Polish lady on reception when I checked in was really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and sufficiently spacious for a single. The fan provided made up for the slightly stuffy atmosphere. Great outside communal terrace.
We booked certain room for two peuple, purely, pleasantly
if your room соme to the road-is noisy, but if you walked much on foot across Barcelona - you will fall asleep instantly
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The place is dirty, has no atmosphere, it's poorly lit (no light in the showers, only in the bathroom, and that's supposed to be enough), the female dorm is right above the street and it's super noisy. Also, it's not that close to anything interesting, you have to walk for 15-20 minutes to get to the center.
Our room was just next to the road, so it was very difficult to sleep at night because of the noise due to traffic.
This hostel is not one flat but minimut 3. I stayed in one flat next to the corner in small single room, which was great, because, there was only few people there. Staff was very helpufull and nice. Wifi connection was good and free. Good if you wannt to go for disco in L´Eixample
- you get wat you pay, so do not expect much
the stuff was extremely (!) friendly, helpful, smiley, so big <3! They reacted to my problem -previous to my stay - with the booking pretty fast! Everything was clean and tidy. The service was really OKAY for the price I paid. Do not look for any other place to sleep, if you are going to travel by plane early in the morning - i got to the airport in 30 mins, the Aerobus stop is less than 3 minutes by walk. Recommended!
the homepage booking system was down or something, so I had to write another email after staying without reply for 3 days. after that, the one i was chatting with about the difficulties, used capitals and tried to make me send my credit card details on facebook... not very much digitally topeducated idea...
location.. the owner was frendly
be ready to pay extra for everything: internet, towels, kichen, luggage room.. girls on reception took 2 euro extra for first night when I came without booking, they knew I have no place to go because it was 11 p.m. so I accept any price.. second night they wanted to do this again, but I booked a bed via booking.com and saved 2 euro.. At first day there was no electricity, so I had to charge my phone and camera in nearest cafe.. conditions in dormitory are terrible! there was no even ventilator when it was +35 and +27 at night..there was just impossible to sleep.. and off course there was no any air condition. it was my worst experience and I would not recommend you to stay at Trauko's home
The personnel was really friendly to us. Thanks for giving guidance on what to visit and where to eat:) 50 m to the nearest metro station 5-7 min walk to the Placa Catalunya
Nice staff, great location near the center of Barcelona
Shower room is not so clean, dark..
Really friendly hosts; I had a 51 pound bag because I'm studying abroad that semester, and they carried all 5 of my family's bags to the apartment which was in another building upstairs to our room while we were out sight-seeing. We also overslept past check-out time and they politely waited for us and were extremely friendly even though we made them wait a while.
A bit noisy with the cars rushing past till really late into the night. It got too hot if we closed the windows but if we opened them it was really loud and hard to sleep. But it was still comfortable.
