Excellent location, comfortness and value of money
Tiny dark room but then the price was very reasonable for a capital city-I would say it is accurate to say I got what I paid for.
The Location was perfect great connection from airport with Metro stop literally around the corner. All the main attractions of the city are within walking distance of the hotel.
Best location . clean hotel.
Location, nearness of eateries and public transport, excellent wifi.
No air , noisy parties til 3 am, smell
Breakfast ,staff, location
clean, good security, between 3 different metro lines and by bus stops. got quiet room away from street
Get on and off bus stop right across street.Walked to all the main plazas.
Our room was depressing. Very tiny, no view, no room to put anything in the bathroom. We could hear absolutely everything in surrounding rooms - every alarm clock, every toilet flush, every shower. Super crowded for three people, but we were only there two nights, so we made it work.
We loved the area and were able to walk nearly everywhere we wanted to go. Plenty of restaurants, close to the Metro station, etc. The hotel breakfast was very nice.
The lobby is in the basement. Even though there's an elevator to go down to the lobby, we has to move our heavy suitcases down several small stairs. We spent our last night in Spain here before we fly out, our suitcases are packed by then. This is an old hotel that hasn't got any renovation recently. The photo is much nicer than the room. I was honestly surprised if I'm in the right hotel. We got a single bed that's patched together and it's not very comfortable.
The location is good. I think this is what we paid for.
On a major street so it can be noisy.
Great breakfast and good proximity to sites
good location, breakfast, kind staff
Uncomfortable old elevator. Too late checking time of 2pm.
Fantastic location, in close proximity to shopping center and other important landmarks. Most of the receptionists were fantastic and helpful.
Breakfast workers was dirty and cleaning there was not professional.. Pillow too big
Room was okay Bed was good Good area..
Air conditioning in room was terrible, ended up having to leave window open all night. Claustrophobic feeling in hotel due to design and layout. Lifts are tiny and you have to wait for ages.
Real good central location. Free breakfast was decent.
El personal muy agradable
The staff was most helpful and always pleasant, the buffet breakfast was included in the price and was sumptuous. I couldn't ask for a better experience.
Hotel Rex is strategically located in Madrid that anywhere you go (be it Museo del Prado, Palacio Real, Plaza Mayor or the shopping malls) it could be reach easily by foot or by using the Metro!
You can hear noises on the other room.
Lovely location.Restaurants, shopping area bus and metro are all walking distance.Staff are friendly.
Entrance to reception is not good.
Terrible Staff, terrible room (blood stains on bed sheet), room is nothing like it has been advertised, we changed our room and when someone was smoking it came through the vent, the shower kept getting blocked, supplies weren't topped up consistently. This ruined our stay in Madrid and we could not wait to leave. The windows left in a draft, the heating didn't work, they said there is no room service but we should call when we need something? That didn't make sense. When I checked the phone it could not be connected. Hardly any power points. It is better you stay in a hostel rather than here.
It would have been nice to have more control of the room heating/aircon but it wasn't unsatissfactory.
The reception and restaurant staff were very helpful and pleasant when approached with questions or requests. The room was very clean and spacious enough.
breakfast wasn't something to die for :) lift was broken
Cleaning service employees were very loud in the hallway at a very early time
