This is a very good hotel. Nice rooms and nice staff.

The breakfast could have had more things to choice from and be diffrent from day to day, not always the same things.

I stayed 1 night but the price was taken two times by credit card.

The location is fantastic-in the very center of the city, very close (150-200m) to the metro (station Callao) which makes your trip with luggage quite easy (from the airport you can take the metro, two changes are needed, but they are easy). Hotel is surrounded by shops, bars, cafeterias and so on. You are in the middle of the old part of Madrid, almost everything worth seeing is within walking distance.I would reccomend this hotel to everybody who is visiting madrid for the first time- very easy access and very easy visisting the city. Rooms are clean and the breakfast is really good, with "tortilla espanola" and fresh fruits.

The hotel is a bit old, but anyway- rooms are clean and how much time do you spend in the hotel? The staff could be much smiley, but they were polte.If the window is open, there is noise from the street (you are in one of the main streets).

Comfortable rooms,lots of space. Fantastic breakfast. Top location to reach everything. Recommend this Hotel highly.

The hotel staff's English is not very good to answer your questions and it will be very difficult for travellers to take the heavy bag downstairs to -1 floor since their receptionist is on the -1 floor.

Excellent location, in the middle of the Gran Vía, close to theatres and shopping, and only a few meters from the subway station. The room was spacious, very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great!

We only stayed for 1 night, we should've stayed longer!

Plenty of character in the hotel and its great position on the Grand Via. Breakfasts were good and the bed linen nice and fresh.

Placed very centrally with lots of lovely restaurants, boutiques, departmental stores and other shopping areas. Breakfast is more than we expected.as we thought it was a continental breakfast. All in all it is value for money.

Rex hotel is a bit old and needs a refurnishment. I suppose if that is done the price will also increased. The reception area is below ground level and so is the lift, hence the difficulty of taking your heavy luggage down and up as was in our case.

Good clean hotel very central to all attractions great value just wish the weather had been better was freezing.

Getting in and out without using the lift not able to use the stairs you could only use the stairs when going out using the emergency exit.

I liked everything about this hotel. Location is absolutely excellent - just in the city center, you can reach all main sightseeings by walk. Hotel is just few steps from underground station, if you need to take metro. Walkable distance to aeroport buss. Room was very clean; despite the fact that hotel is located on one of the main city streets which is very crowded, the room was very quiet, facing the inner yard of the building. Hotel staff is excellent, very helpful, polite, friendly.

Very very pleasant hotel for a long sping & summer weekend in Madrid. Hotel is located in Via Grande, big central avenue of Madrid and provides a convinient connection to 4 undeground lines (which makes it perfect if you travel across Madrid and Spain) together with 5 minute walk to Placa del Sol, 20 min walk to Museo del Prado, close to Attocha Railway station. Our room for 3 was really spacious, clean and had a big balcony providing a wonderful view over roofs of Madrid - that's the thing I love most about this hotel. Buffet breakfast with variety of morning hot & cold snacks was served each morning until 11-00. Such long open hours are great for me because I do not have to wake up at 7 am during my vacations. Hotel can be easily & cheap reached from the airport by underground (Callao metro station is just a few steps) or by bus (you have to walk 10-15 min) from Cibelles fountain - and it will cost you only 5 euro.

Only 2 things: 1. Reception is at -1 floor so you have to pull your luggage downstairs. If you travel with a man that's OK but for a girl it requires some efforts. 2. The room could rather cold during winter time to my mind because Madrid is notorious for cold winds during winder and hotel's windows are not super brand new to resist it.

There was a flight of stairs down to the reception. The elevator was too small and crowded at most times.

I liked the location - it was only five minutes from the theatres. I had a single room with en-suite; the room was also well spaced.

The reception is located at the basement and there is no elevator to get there from the entrance. So the clients have to go down 15 steps carrying their bags to do the check in.
