Hotel Urdanibia  

Location - we were en route to France and wanted to be near border but outside San Sebastian to avoid morning traffic. Free parking.

We found the hotel very comfortable although there was some traffic noise with the window open. The staff were excellent very friendly with an excellent command of English. The breakfast buffet was very good indeed..

The restaurant did not open till 2030 and we like to eat earlier than that.

We stayed at this hotel last year when visiting San Sebastian. Last year our room was fine. We slept well and were not disturbed by noise. This year we were assiged a room that was VERY NOISY. My bed son was given a very uncomfortable (extra) for which we were charged 27 euros per night. When we checked in we were also told that we would have to pay 27 euros extra per dog per night. We have two dogs. We chose this hotel because it said in the description that animals were permitted. The description said we might have to pay extra for the dogs but it didn't specify how much.We found an extra 54 euros, per night, fpr the dogs excessive and told the hotel staff that. Luckily, after discussion with the management, they dropped the charges. However, when we booked the hotel, we thought we would get a bottle of Cavas and a cake. We booked a special offer on Internet. When I asked about these things, the hotel staff said they didn't know what I was referring to, that sometimes these offers were made, but thatn they didn't know anything about them and, sinece they had dropped the costs for the dogs, I should leave well alone!

On checking out the receptionist could not speak english and it took 30 minutes to check out!!!! The hotel was on an unamed road and therefore difficult to find from the address. The bar food was overpriced and no tea or coffe making facilities in the room

We like the Hotel because of the convenient position near the motorway also with easy access to Hodarribia where we have a favourite restaurant.We have been staying at the Tryp Hotel over 20 years on our journey from England to Nerja where we have a holiday home. It is always very clean and the staff are always very helpfull.

A good hotel. Would return.

Breakfast

Lack of air in the room as I was unable to keep windows open due to traffic noise.

Check in was easy, staff were friendly and helpful and the food in the bar was good. The room was clean and comfortable.

The entrance to the hotel needs to be better signposted as we missed it first time because the Satnav told us we had arrived when we were at the roundabout!

Acces facile Parking Calme Discrétion

Hotel un peu vieux, à rajeunir. Vieux téléviseur fonctionnant que sur 2 chaines Pas de coffre Pas de frigo/bar Restauration trés moyenne Mauvais rapport prix / confort

La chambre était spacieuse et bien équipée: sèche-cheveu, brosse à dent, serviette, gel douche... Le lit était confortable. L'hôtel en lui-même est très beau avec une architecture et un style particulier. Le fait d'avoir un parking gratuit en Espagne était aussi très appréciable. On a aimé sa proximité avec les plages françaises (5-10 min d'Hendaye). Enfin, on l'a choisi car à cette période, tout est complet ou alors au- dessus de notre budget; Il y avait une promo sur la chambre double (68€ au lieu de 120€) donc ça valait le coup !

Les tarifs des petits-déjeuners hors de prix (10,50€ par personne)... On a pris l'option brasserie française. Notre chambre était orientée vers la route rapide donc on entendait un peu la circulation malgré le double vitrage. Compte tenu du standing de l'hôtel, la salle de bain aurait méritée d'être plus propre. Enfin, dernier petit bémol mais qui n'a pas forcément d'importance, les personnes de la réception ne parlaient pas français et ne le comprenaient pas (le lendemain matin, on est tombé sur une personne qui elle parlait français).

La habitación muy completa, amplia y confortable. Baño amplio con todas las comodidades. Cafetería en la planta baja para desayunar, almorzar o cenar.

La tv. Un poco antigua, rota y además sin TDT, pero vamos... es una pega minúscula, el resto muy bien. Quizás también la localización, a las afueras de Irún, frente a la autovía, aunque el ruido de los coches no llegaba a molestar porque está muy bien insonorizada la habitación.
