Clean, good location and nice atmosphere !
everything was good.
I was expecting to find a bit younger travelers.
The hostel is next to Urgell metro station & also next to everything on foot. The facilities are perfect & the staff is very cool. The room was comfortable, warm, with a great view and clean. There was a problem with the water(only cold) for some hours but immediately after we referred it to the reception,it was fixed.I highly recommend it to any young who wants to visit Barcelona.
Clean, safe, friendly, close to points of interest
Some guests are noisy
Wonderful location,wonderful youth hostel.
Remind you,it is maybe not suit for an old man like me living with those kids.
Good place and good stuff
The bed is not comfortable
Everthing was very good, cheap food and drinks, very modern and clean, helpful staff, close to Plaza Cataluna, much tours, happenings and events, and of course the fantastic jazuzzi pool arean on the roof.
Pretty uncomfy bed and pillows, the water flow in the shower was unacceptable, you had to shower for an hour and it was impossible to get a good temperature, either icecold, or boiling hot, worst shower I'v ever seen. The waterflow in the taps on the other hand was not at all like this! The room floors got very slipper if they got wet from the showers, one girl could have died slipping.
Good location, sumptuous breakfast, comfortable beds, sufficient locker space.
Beware of people in shared dorms - one of my friends lost 400 EUR to theft!
the facilities are quite advanced. u can use the card even for ur locker and elevator. very friendly and helpful stuff, behaving esp. professionally after my accident
I was accidentally locked in the bathroom for at least one hour because of the broken lock. was desperate and exhaused trying to open it in the room of no one, but they only returned one night's payment as compensation, not as promised. besides, the room is too small and there's not even a chair to sit on. u could only squat after a tiring day if u have the upper bunk.
I felt very safe here. This was my first experience traveling alone and the security here was very tight, even in a 10 bed mixed dorm. There was so much oportunity to meet other travelers and the hostel aranges nights out so you can meet people easily. I would recomend this hostel to anyone as it is easy to find/get to and the roof top is an added bonus. For the price per night it is exctremely good value for money. I can't knock it. It cateres more towards young traveling people however it is a friendly place so everyone should feel comfortable
Staff speak English and are understanding. Great location on Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes
Price for single room I think is on the higher side given that I had to stay for more than one week to find accommodation.
Location is near to the metro. Their beds are nice and have plugs for each bed individually.
The kitchen was very dirty. I needed to ask for 3 staff members to get a simple information.
Staff excellent. 5 min walk from La Rambla. Very clean, good atmosphere.
People up coming into dorm middle of nite, talking, showering using toilet. Shower and toilet in form so if you are near very noisy.
The staff, facilities, and all-round vibe was great - highly recommended!
extremely noisy, unfriendly personnel, worms on floor
Safe and friendly staff, fairly clean and value for money!
Rooms too big :S
The hostel itself is modern looking, colorful, new and clean. It has a character. Facilities were good. A lot of common areas to chill and meet others. There were many pc's, free wifi, bar/cafe, "home cinema", pool, table tennis, kitchen, roof terrace with a jacuzi (which looks better in the picture and has operating hours, but still) events planned every night, discount for some nightclubs entrance fee, people responsible for advising you on guides and touristy choices, helping with the maps, PRs organizing night out, great magnetic card system used to get in the hostel/elevator/room and even a personal storage. So you don't have to worry about safety. Also I really liked that you get more privacy in the sleeping area as all beds have curtains.
I had a really bad experience at night. Everybody in the hostel was drinking and partying. Which is not a problem at all as long as it happens in common areas. But some people got so drunk they fell asleep in someone else's beds which is rude in my opinion. Others were making a lot of noise in the sleeping area. I mean it's nice to meet new people and have fun. But good manners and respecting other people in a room is important too.
Staff was very friendly and pleasant
The hostel was a bit noisy at times. The facilities overall were not as expected.
Nice room with private toilet and shower. Key card system worked great. Lockers at downstairs were useful.
It was cheap and very well off for transport links and still walkable to some really interesting areas of the city. I highly recommend the "free" walking tour that you get a free guide from reception to where the tour meets. It was a great way to see what was available just a short walk from the hostel on the way to a very interesting tour of the Gothic Quarter and surrounding points of interest. The WiFi worked well despite my grumble about the login (see what I didn't like) and I liked that for twenty cents per page you could print out stuff - invaluable for boarding passes for airlines where you can only check in 24 hours before your flight.
Top bunk can be difficult to clamber into if you are short as the ladder only has a rail on the left at the top so I basically had to climb then leap onto my face. Also the top bunk gets ALL the aircon so you freeze during the night if you don't switch it off. The place was maybe trying a bit too hard to be party central but a little disorganised for example the "karaoke" was Googling YouTube videos of songs with the lyrics and was shut down by the neighbours calling the police due to the noise after about five minutes. I'm sorry but this was marked as a twice a week activity I don't understand how they didn't have the volume levels right so that the police didn't get called. I really didn't like having to give a social network name or an email address to sign into the WiFi, I don't like giving that sort of information without a tick box to opt out of unwanted correspondence. The shower. Oh god the shower. Every review I read complained about the shower and with good reason. It literally gives you five second blasts of water that is really difficult to get to a tolerable temperature. Also the bathroom lights go out on a similar timer so you kind of have to wave your arm about if you don't want to do your business in the dark. Hope that isn't TMI. I think as a couple in our early 30's this place maybe wasn't right for us, it made me feel a bit old and lame but I had wanted to try something a little different having never stayed somewhere like that before and knowing Barcelona was kind f a party city. Realised quickly that is not my thing.
- good breakfast - great location - helpful staff
- air condition not possible to be manually set up / turned off - bedclothes could be cleaned better (were not dirty but of not first quality)
the location is really good since it is located in the middle of the city and 5 mins away from public transport.
no new bed and pillow covers given at the entry, and the showers don't work properly.
- Have own plug and small table in every bed to do our own things. - great location. - have computers in common room.
The location is excellent - and this is the only asset if you travel with children. The staff is very friendly and helpful - and the place is great for young folks without a family.
The rooms are really tiny - for children it is hard to even move within the room. Claustrophobic if you have active children. Quietness and good sleep are not a priority. You may welcome a day without sleeping at all - not a good start for a day.
