There are restraints nearby where you can eat delicious Pinchos, so it was quite easy to get to. It was incredibly quiet from night to morning. Yes, there was no noise at all. I never once felt like I was in an unsafe place.
Next time I'll try taking the bus.

San Sebastian is really a great city for views: you have 2 mountains accessible on foot with great views on the bay (concha), the city and the ocean. There is also nice architecture (Art Nouveau), a great basque history/art museum (San Telmo) and a maritime museum with an aquarium.
And there is a great beach for surfing (Zurriola). So on the boulevards you can see side by side a surfer with surfboard and a very smartly dressed couple walking toward the Kuursaal.

Parks and beaches are beautiful.
Parks and beaches are beautiful. Food at some bars and restaurants is phenomenally good! I didn’t have time to visit museums, but I expect they are up to the quality of other aspects of public life. And people on the street and in the bars seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot. (Although everyone seems to love a holiday weekend.)

The city is pretty and clean.
The city is pretty and clean. The food is excellent and varied leaning heavily to sea food. It is easy enough to walk around, there is taxi service for some of the attractions not downtown e.g. the stadium. Let me say, however, it is not as inexpensive as other places in Spain. Food can be pricey, especially some of the sampling meals in the restaurants. My Spanish is pretty okay, but, believe me Basque is not at all similar, fortunately, most menus, etc. are written in Spanish, French and English as well. The people are friendly and will work with you.

Beautiful city with amazing beaches, charming architecture, tons of amazing spots for pintxos, and a laid-back vibe. Public buses worked fine and there were taxis readily available during the day, but it's small enough to walk almost anywhere.

Loved San Sebastian and will return.
Loved San Sebastian and will return. Apartment was really well placed for the beach - pity we didn't see there was beach chairs till we were packing to leave. Very spacious and airy and good for drying clothes in the little courtyard - could have done with having some info leaflets about SS. We took a boat to the island and the atmosphere there was amazing - I would definitely recommend!
Everything! This is the most amazing hotel , a stunning grand historic beauty. After 4 days exploring the town , we can assure you that it has the best location in San Sebastion. We had a truly beautiful room with a gorgeous balcony looking out over the most picturesque panorama of the whole beach, the promenade and spectacular landmarks.. This hotel was the highlight of a 3 week trip in Spain. The bar is fabulous with a picture postcard view of the passing parade. The marble bathroom was huge with every amenity.
New modern hotel in historic area close to the beach. Excellent location with countless excellent tapas bars and restaurants steps away from Hotel Atari. As this is San Sebastian, the food scene is the (Michelin) star of the show. Although adjacent to the busy Basílica de Santa Maria del Coro, the excellent sound insulation provided by the glass balcony doors kept the noise outside. The staff were warm and welcoming with a glass of wine offered on arrival. The breakfast choice was first rate.
Very smooth check in even though we were a bit early. Previously had a room at the rear, this time we had street view which was nice too. A bit more noise, but that is to be expected in Spain, & it was all part of the atmosphere, seeing people at the pavement tables beneath. Location is excellent, its an easy 10-15 minute walk to the bus station. ( bus to Bilbao airport is €17 ), and 7 mins or so to the fabulous old town pinxto bars. Hope to be back sometime soon!
The apartment was great. Wonderful layout, thoughtfully appointed and worked great for our family of four. Comfy beds! Lots of room. Only time during two weeks in Spain that we were all able to actually unpack our clothes! Nice kitchen set up - great for a family with food allergies that had to cook several meals.
The owner was great. It was so fantastic to deal with a real person. Her responses were quick and she was so thoughtful about advice in the city!!
Great location 10 mins walk from the bus station, the beach and old town.
Loved making use of the gym most mornings kept very clean and a nice little air con unit.
Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choice.
Staff at the hotel were really friendly and gave us a map and a list of recommendations on arrival.
Room was nice but a little bit impractical. Good hairdryer and nice touch having an iron and ironing board available in room.
We quickly found out after booking tickets to San Sebastian that it was not a cheap city at all for hotels. Pension Ondarra offers excellent value and quality, plus I much prefer to be in this neighborhood where more locals live, but only a 10 minute walk or so to the old town. The check in and access was all really easy, the room was spacious and clean, plus a little terrace to relax on... Would definitely recommend!
The location of this hotel is great if you're driving, not to mention on site parking. The staff is very helpful with making dinner arrangements and providing general information about the city. The bar/restaurant is a hit with locals as well as guests. It is an easy walk to Gros and about 15 minutes to San Sebastian center.
Our room was quite small but the location is great - basically it is in the Old town.
The small/narrow balcony is the good addition.
The parking is near by though it is expensive even with some discount that that provided by
the hotel (it is around 20 euro per day) but any parking in San Sebastian is expensive.
Very nice, clean and modern. Breakfast was really good. It was a minute walk to the beach and them you could walk to the old town. The walk back is uphill. Not arduous but good to be aware if you suffer from health issues. Overall a nice hotel with parking. Good bedrooms and good staff. Would recommend 👌
We have stayed at this hotel once before and liked the room and services and personnel. We did not have the hotel breakfast but could see it was plentiful. Hotel is one street from the famous beach in San Sebastian-wonderful and close to the old town about 5 mins walking.
Nicely decorated hotel and rooms, spacious room with a comfortable bed and a good shower.
Very friendly staff.
Excellent parking garage, where you can park your car and go directly to your room with the elevator. Not all hotels in San Sebastián offer a parking garage.
Staff were excellent and extremely helpful with local knowledge and where to eat. Hotel room was comfortable and clean. Parking a few minutes walk away and the location was excellent next to Old Town but across the bridge.
Safe and secure, great location. Oscar in reception was very helpful. San Sebastián is a great spot and the hotel is on the border between old town and new town and only minutes from the beach. Great security.
Location was central. 20 mins walk to the train station and shops and restaurants and a bit further to the old town. Hotel should have had a 3 star rating. Modern but jazzy.
Beautiful hotel, very friendly staff, great location. Their coffee and breakfast was delicious. Best shower in our 5 week trip to Spain. Can’t wait to come back.
excellent choice for San Sebastián trip. very cute and small property but quaint and in great condition. excellent stuff. best place in Spain we stayed so far
the hotel is perfectly located, right on the beach and in the old section of San Sebastián. it’s also a beautiful, modern property that’s a delight to stay in
The location was perfect. Close to the beach, close to the old town. Around the hotel are mnay bakery, restaurants. It was a really great place to stay.
