Hoposa Uyal    

The location of the hotel was very good, our room was clean and in good repair, although quite noisy & small.

The reception staff were less than friendly while the rest of the staff just didn't seem interested. The food was very average, with an almost regimented table lay out in the dining room. Overall an unpleasant & unwelcoming experience.

Rooms were very comfortable, choice and quality of breakfast and dinner were excellent.

The staff were very friendly, fantastic location and the rooms were great. The hotel also has its own bikes to rent which was very convenient!

The sunshine and the food!

The room was too cold ,we had no help when we complained. Did not like the 2 sitting times and the lounge area was uninviting - more like an airport waiting room.

Superb holiday hotel. Room good but position poor

Not just this hotel, all hotels. Single rooms are always in the worst position in the hotel. We normally pay over half the price of a double but always get inferior treatment. Overlooking bins, above kitchen, looking at a wall.

We enjoyed being across the street from the beautiful beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the breakfast every morning. There was a variety of food to please everyone's taste. The room had free internet which was great. We never had problems finding a place to park that was close to the hotel. We also liked that it was a nice walk to the town center and there were all kinds of restaurants in the vicinity.

I didn't like the view from our room. It was located in the back of the first floor and the terrace was shared with two other rooms. There was really nothing to look at. Next time, I will make sure I book a room with an ocean view because the hotel is situated in a perfect location.

Liked the fact that it was an old substantial building with Character. Good location, quiet but within easy reach of the shops/ restaurants etc Very good selection of fresh food and very attentive staff. Lovely outlook on to the beach. Liked the use of a safe within the room-free of charge

The bathroom in room 350 did have a bit of a smell at times

The Uyal was away from the main resort bustle but an easy, flat stroll to the centre of things when we wanted the shops and restaurants etc. Local bus stops to Alcudia and Pollense Old Town were 100 meters from Uyal and cost 3Euros single, for 2 people. Our room was tastefully decorated and immaculate. We had a fabulous view from our front facing balcony. Breakfasts were particularly good and it was no inconvenience to eat breakfast early, on our departure day.

We were half board and while I would have no complaints about the food (variety and ingredients), I think there is room for improvement in the quality of cooking. Reception and dining staff were helpful with the exception of one female on reception who, when I asked if she could make a local call to our transfer company for me, said "no, you make it yourself". It may have been a language issue but it came across as very rude indeed.

Great location with easy parking. Quiet yet close to Port de Pollense town. Good spread at breakfast. Comfortable and spacious room - especially as we got a free upgrade

On the last night the weather was poor and there was a loud crashing noise from somewhere outside. Maybe the guttering? The hotel staff were uninterested when I told them and were in no mood to offer any discount.

The staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to be helpful. Excellent hotel for family.

Good location, far enough away from main bar area so nice and quiet, but still very accessible. Nice rooms, lovely view if you requested a seaview. Not fine dining, but good wholesome food and choice.

My booking made on 23 july wasfor a sea view room and requested a double bed room . Instead we were given a twin bedded room without a sea view .The sea view was rectified but not the double bed. Not sure who made the mistake BOOKINGS . COM. OR THE HOTEL. I would like to hear from bookings.com. G. richards.08/10/12

The recent refurbishment is very nice, especially the rooms in the older part of the building. Our room was a very good standard. Staff pleasant and friendly and keen to help. Great location over the road from a fantastic beach Great views of the bay

The food was adequate but only just up to four star standards. Pool area is poor for a four star hotel, but a great beach just across the road compensates. Bar area lacks atmosphere.

Great location, plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. Fabulous views across bay,and beautiful sunrises. Great beach just across the road with clear water for swimming.

Food,friendliness and amenities

Unable to give full report as my wife was in hospital the whole duration so was unable to fully take advantage of the hotel amenities.

Good position,sea front,quiet,good breakfast

Booked months in advance,requested high floor,paid extra for sea view room.Got very very small room on lowest floor with sea view obstructed by trees.Complained and got very poor response from reception staff. Storage space in room so poor couldnt fully unpack. Kept complaining and eventually got moved to somewhat better room just 1 floor up. Believe priority given to package holiday customers and diy visitors like us get worst of what is available. Definitely over-rated and overpriced @151e/night b&b.

Quiet and very relaxing. No noisy children or teenageers (we prefer to leave ours at home these days, so we really don't want anybody else's) Great location, although the"partial sea-view" room was stretching the description a little, with the room being almost at the rear of the building and the view of the sea, when leaning out over the balcony, was obscured by a palm tree, its difficult see how this could have been priced higher. Non the less it was a very pleasant stay. We are fortunate enough to have an apartment in Santa Ponsa in the south west of the island and take breaks in places like Pollensa during our visits to the island, just to get away for a few days. Having stayed at several other hotel in Pt. Pollensa over the years, the Uyal was excellent.

Excellent service-nothing was a problem for the hotel staff, fantastic food, really comfortable room with great sea view. I loved the beach opposite the hotel! At our last dinner we have been treated with complimentary glass of champagne...lovely supprise!

Swimming pool-actually deckchairs being occupied(reserved) by towels with no sign of the people use them......unfortunately no reaction from the hotel staff (every day due all our stay there) so there is no chance to spend a bit of time at the swimming pool! Shame!

Location is excellent. Beach is in front of hotel. Stuff is friendly.

Tiny rooms.

the staff were great the location was great first season as 4* but it struggles to pull that rating off.

the food was at best 3* the evening meals were uneventful. Would do B&B only in future

Absolutely fantastic location right opposite the beach. Our room was decorated nicely, had a huge bed, nice furniture and a bath/shower. Lovely balcony overlooking the beach/sea. Kept very clean and bed made daily.Although rooms modernly decorated, the hotel itself keeps it's spanish character.

The air conditioning in our room was not powerful enough. Whilst it did provide a gentle cool air, felt at night it needed to be cooler and more powerful despite it being on the most pwerful and coldest setting. This was however not enough to cause too much uncomfort.
