It is across from Cathedral. Good value. In the middle of the city. within walking distance of everything.

    Parking was a premium

Excellent location by the cathedral. Nice marble bathrooms. Decent enough breakfast.

The public areas and the room furniture look quite tired.

Liked everything about this hotel, and it was really excellent value for money. Incidentally we are not a mature couple, but there is no category for a mother and daughter (of 67 and 36 years respectively).

    sneaky parking spot

They were refitting rooms and we had no hot water for shower, no apology. It was noisy during the day.

Great location, helpful staff who pointed us in the right direction for the hotel car park which nestled under the cathedral.

Nothing to quote, this hotel was exceptional value in such a quaint city.

What better location than the very heart of Avila right opposite the Cathedral. Beautifully located behind the City Walls this charming Hotel has a great feel of renaissance about it, a little "worn" but charming nonetheless. We had a great view of the Cathedral Plaza with a double bed and good sized bathroom with overhead shower and the other party with us had a triple room that was a great size, both clean and serviceable. Breakfast consisted of the basic buffet continental great croissants, fresh juice, cereals, yogurts, cold meats & cheese, breads, toast etc. It was a fine brekkie especially as it was included in the price. I would most certainly recommend this Hotel for its value for money and location. If like us you have a car then park it just outside the walls, its cheaper than paying daily Hotel charges and free!

The morning coffee was from machine rather than freshly poured, I suppose that was buffet type convenience..but a real shame when the Spanish do coffee so well. Also, Please note as with most Spanish Hotels no tea making facilities in the room so take you travel kettle if its convenient.

Location unbeatable & breakfast was excellent! Large bedrooms & massive fully tiled bathrooms - truly palatial! Would definitely recommend to friends(already have!) Cafeteria was being upgraded whilst we were there, which was a shame, but didn't stop us from sitting & watching the world go by with a nice cold beer in one of the many local bars & restaurants. A wonderful visit which we will remember for a long time.

Only criticism would be policy of hotel of not putting air conditioning on until June - we had a couple of quite warm nights in mid May. AC would have made it easier to sleep.

The exterior material of the construction in place (w/ the wind and rain) was creating a lote of noise. AC hard to control

Parador-like hotel with much character, located at the heart of town, right next to Cathedral and other key attractions.

Room was a bit cold despite putting heating on full. Street parking a bit challenging and further from hotel but this was expected in the old town of Avila.

Old historic building at the side of the Cathedral and historic wall

out of three rooms two were deadly cold. Extra very noisy radiator was supplied by hotel. Rooms lacked maintainance, old television, etc Bathroom colå

Excellent location in city centre if you do not arrive by car

hard to find nearby parking, the hotel furnishing and fitting is a bit run down

Right in the centre next to the Cathedral. Luxury break for us "mid" El Camino Levante route. Also huge rooms and totally welcoming of three large dogs and a small one! Lovely bathroom, quiet and perfect location. The restaurant was a bit old fashioned but they allowed us to take food to our room in a kind of do-it-yourself room service and it was perfect to chill out and do this and stay with the dogs.

The lift music!!! Four Seasons on a loop!!

    The breakfast was good.

The walls had ripped wallpaper, old moldy shower. The mattress was good.

The location. Our room had a view of the cathedral across the street and in the square opposite the entrance on the 1st floor is a very good restaurant. We chose this hotel for their acceptance of dogs and the location. The building is a large old palace and modernisation in the current climate is probably not viable. Having said that our room was absolutely fine and very comfortable; the bathroom was equally good. Breakfast was an extensive hot and cold buffet. We enjoyed our stay; the visit to the cathedral [3 euros] is a must - the use of multi hued stones in the walls and ceiling, the carvings everywhere made it a beautiful monument. The walls are spectacular; parking is not a problem and from the Las Cuartas Postas the view is very impressive.

the negative reviews from other travellers - yes, take them on board but go with an open mind and enjoy your stay

We got one of those three rooms with incredible view on the cathedral's face. The double-arched window is just fantastic. The room in general was charming.
