Located in the historic quarter of the charming town, this 16th-century Palace has been beautifully renovated and stands within pretty gardens – enjoy meals in the fabulous restaurant.
Score from 303 reviews Very good
Only a 4 minute walk from Ávila Cathedral, Hotel Las Leyendas is in the historic quarter. It is a charming and sympathetically converted manor house that dates back to the 16th century.

the reception girl went out of her way to be helpful but the other staff were not quite as willing
the restaurant staff were poor. the products available did not cater for vegetarians and we had to wait for over an hour for our food which was a simple rissotto
We stayed one night in Palacio de los Velada in November 2014. This hotel occupies the palace built in XV-XVI century and situated in historical center of Avila, just fifty meters from the Cathedral. All historical places such as Cathedral, Basilica San Vicente, Romanesque Churches of San Tome the Old and San Pedro are in walking distance from the hotel, just in the neighborhood. Hotel has two wonderful patios, first one is housing the restaurant and second the breakfast hall. All staff was speaking fluent English, very polite and very helpful. Room was excellent, with very comfortable furniture and equipped with TV set, air conditioner, refrigerator with mini bar. Bath room and toilet were equipped with the bathtub and bidet. There was real home atmosphere in this hotel. Choice of food in the restaurant was plentiful and food itself delicious. So, my conclusion is, if I will come to Avila once again then I definitely will stay in Palacio de los Velada. We felt there as at our own home. Thanks to all personnel for that.
Located right on the Cathedral plaza the location was perfect. Parking was only two blocks into the walled city which made it easy to find and navigate. The room was large and spacious though we were on a side wing with no view and considerable street noise. The bed was softer than we prefer but that is a matter of taste.
The Courtyard has been roofed over with glass and that has created a lovely dining and drinking area as shown in all the pictures but it was hot, humid and stuffy and needed ventilation.
The hotel was excellent, everything in this beautiful city is within easy walking distance and a delight for lovers of Spain and its heritage. After a day in town it was nice to relax in the atrium with a book and people watch. We were given a room on the top floor at the far end of the corridor which was quiet but only having a skylight had no view, but never the less the room was first class.
Very good quality, and cheap
Service (not very friendly)
This is a grand hotel that used to be the palace of a the Velada family. The central courtyard is wonderful. The location could not be better, next to the cathedral. It even has its own parking garage below ground.
Nothing, everything was great.
Location and architecture of hotel.
Beautiful hotel right in the centre of town. Close to bars and restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. Comfortable. Great breakfast.
We stayed Saturday night and the noise from the street went on till 4 am
Excellent Location just within the walls. Broad selection of Breakfast. It felt quite corporate and professional but was also able to cater for the individual guests.
Our room was close to cleaning and laundry cupboards so was rather noisy at times. Also quite a bit of early and late noise from kitchens/lift. I wasn't aware that it was part of a small group of hotels until we arrived (thought it was an individual operation).
The breakfast was good but was too expensive.
Splendid building igreat location adjacent to Avila cathedral and with handy underground parking. Comfortable bedrooms. Beautiful courtyard bar/restaurant. Great breakfast buffet - only place we stayed in Spain with a cheaper continental breakfast option.
Fairly impersonal - but large busy hotel so not surprising.
I think that this is a fabulous hotel for ambiance, quality food fare, pricing and location.
The neighbors in the ajoining room, I believe, spoke in normal volumes, but it was as if they were in our room standing by our bed. At one point we even turned on our T.V. for ambient noise to block out their conversations. We could hardly fault them. We did call down to the front desk to report it.
Fab location for restaurants, bars and visiting the city.
The building is beautiful, the rooms are very nice, well decorated/furnished hallways. Bathrooms are well appointed. Location is superb. Breakfast was ok.
The people in the reception area are arrogant and all personnel in general are not focused on giving their best attention to their CLIENTS. They think that staying inside the walls of Avila and the palace itself should be enough and travelers should be thankful to stay there. They should remember all this luxury is possible because we pay for it. Period.
everything. Excellent dinner in the restaurant. Lcalization is just perfect
The restaurant i recommendable. The room was charming. The staff was friendly and accommodating and still very professional. We enjoyed ourselves very much and preferred getting our food and drinks at the hotel.
Excellent hotel. Location is ideal. Clean and well appointed room. Gorgeous historic lobby/atrium area, perfect to enjoy a snack or coffee. Charming historic hotel, Highly Recommend!
El café incluido en el desayuno Mediocre,
Wonderful location inside walled city near the cathedral. Tremendous value at the rate we paid for our online booking. Parking in the hotel basement at an additional charge.
Beautiful public areas and a first class restaurant with lovely staff and excellent food.
Good staff ,great location within city walls.Parking not good offsite but we could of unloaded bags in front of hotel instead of doing Brit thing of obeying traffic signs.Wonderfull old building brought tastefully up to date.
Amazing building, great town
Noise rom other room
Perfect location. Good level of comfort.
The staff was impersonal and often close to unhelpful - e.g. over a non-smoking room that stank of smoke: "Try an air-spray" ( I eventually did get a clean-smelling room) - though not actually rude. One young man was charming and in fact kindly lent me his umbrella!, but I had a strong impression that what they liked and wanted were tour groups/ conferees, not solo travellers. The architecture of what was probably a fine palace has been completely ruined- many such conversions in Spain have been beautifully done - the decor was pretentious and stylistically inappropriate, and it was disappointing to have no view but a plastic roof.
location (+accommodation in old medieval palace); room decoration and comfort; easy parking
