The architecture of the hotel is very attractive, in contrast with its surroundings and still in perfect balance. Its use of materials and decor is striking and inspiring (cement, wood, plastic, glass, plants). The restaurant (evening meal and breakfast) and its staff are excellent professionals. Good (exterior) parking facilities.

The beds are a minus, too hard, not the luxury experience you expect. The bathroom surprisingly little in comparison to the spacious shower.

Spacious room, modern architecture and a glorious rooftop terrace. Villabuena is in a great area of the La Rioja region, surrounded with charming villages, lovely countryside and plenty to see.

We specifically asked and paid for a room with a view but our room looked straight into a rock face. The little outdoor area was directly beside the exhaust of the neighbouring air-conditioning and uninviting. The staff however were charming, gave us a good bottle of wine in recompense, but could not change our room as they were fully occupied. The restuarant held high hopes on our part and aspirations on theirs, but the meal was good, if small by Western standards and devoid of vegetables. Out starter of fresh tuna was stunning and generous nevertheless.

Off the beaten path, but easy to get, Hotel Viura was a breath of fresh air after a long day of traveling. Staff was just as amazing as the hotel. And the restaurant was unbelievable. We will definitely be back.

The beds were very comfortable. It was so quiet and we loved hearing the church bells. The breakfast was excellent. The front outdoor area was so quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed the wine shop. The location was perfect for touring the wine country. Having a workout area.

Service was very hit or miss when sitting out front in the early evening and wait staff was not always friendly. The lack of restaurants nearby. The signage for the hotel coming in from both ways should be better! Getting there at night is a real challenge. Common areas need to be given a bit more attention in there upkeep.

we loved the querky style of the hotel. also staff were very helpful. car parking on site which we wanted as we had a lot of valuable gear on board. food absolutely delicious.

we did not like the way the door to the bathroom didn't come to the floor and was not tight at the sides. ok for us as we are a mature couple but not so good for a young couple as you can hear everything that happens in the bathroom.

The hotel is a piece of art, and zet very comfortable and practic. Their areas for leisure are perfect for art lovers and you can't be bored! It verz strategically located for visiting the vineries and old fortresed towns. They also have a small vinery, with great vines, many visitors and great atmosphere. We have spent 3 amazing days in Viura, discovering and getting to know many new things!

The telephone signal was very poor, and the wifi signal wasn't strong in our part of the hotel.

What an amazing hotel!! Such interesting, exciting modern design, rooms were very large, comfortable, and the restaurant was wonderful. All in a tiny village in the Rioja wine region, which has some of the most dramatic beautiful vistas you will ever see. Staff could not have been nicer. We especially liked our waiter!!

    Not a thing!

A special place in a small Rioja village. The hotel ist beautiful - a jewel in a place you would not expect such bold architecture. A good alternative if you don't want to spent the money on the "Hotel Marques De Riscal" which is in a village near by, approx. 5-10 minutes by car. This Hotel is just as special with spacious rooms and fabulous atmosphere.

Food was good but overpriced. The bodega next to the hotel had friendly staff, wine selection not very spectecular though.

This was our favourite of the 4 places we stayed in La Rioja. Central, great facilities, beautiful design, and great food. Also, a fair bit cheaper than some other spots like Laguardia, plus the staff, particularly the dining staff, are really great.

Great value (we spent as much on one disappointing night at Marques de Riscal as on 3 at Viura, and the latter was better all round), very helpful staff with excellent outing and winery suggestions, stunning look of interior and exterior, excellent food in the restaurant.

The full restaurant menu was only available on the Saturday night (our stay was Sat-Tues) and there was no lighter menu in the bar.
