When my husband got sick and we had to extend our stay and get medical assistance the hotel were excellent. They helped us contact the airline and got extra rooms and late checkout. Thanks hotel Wellington. Ps the pool was a great resource.
Incredibly friendly, helpful and efficient service. Superb breakfast. The Club Wellington was a pleasure, with wonderful views of Madrid. Fantastic value for money.
Staff were exceptionally friendly & helpfull. Facilities and position excellent. Breakfast and club lounge excellent
I am a frequent traveller and I can say that Wellington is among the best hotels Ive ever stayed at. It has a confort and luxury but without being pretentious. Lovely location, lovely rooms, lovely staff. Would recommend it wholeheartedly
- impeccable service (all staff from bookings, front desk, house-keeping to staff in lounge rooms and car park attendants) - peaceful location (away from the hustle and bustle) yet walkable into Sol / Gran Vía / central areas - incredible rooms (esp Club-level with lounge access)
- lack of English / US TV channels
Grand hotel but welcoming and unpretentious.
Location - can walk to all the main tourist places and very close to Retiro park. Room was very comfortable (senior suite). Breakfast has great choice and is a lively experience. Staff generally very helpful and pleasant (but there is always one!)
Late opening time of the pool (10am). Evening drinks around the pool area felt like a distraction to those serving in the restaurant and resulted in waiting too long to be served.
Great Location (very close to Retiro Park and downtown) Some of the reception staff were very helpful
One of the reception staff downgraded one of our rooms upon check-in without clearly mentioning this to us and even was arguing with us and then apologized as the end!! ( quite sneaky!!) V.Poor swimming pool area Limited time to access the Gym No complementary water or tea/coffee in the room!! Many staff don't know how to speak good English (quite unacceptable for a 5-Star hotel !!) Same food items everyday in the breakfast buffet without much trial to change (BORING!!) The Club Lounge in the 7th floor is not worth the extra money you pay (same limited food items everyday and VERY limited food items)
location -swimming pool +gym
no tea or coffee making facilities in bedroom
Location Roof top swimming pool The hotel itself Facilities
Poor service of some staff at the poolside bar/restaurant
First of all the staff, hotel, location, and service was phenomenal. I highly recommend this hotel! Thank you! However The internet was too slow. I wanted to get a little work done so I asked for faster internet service, which was premium, and it didn't change the speed. Maybe it was miscommunication but internet was horribly slow. Didn't effect my stay but a heads up for anyone needing to do business work.
Fantastic room, cleaned and maintained perfectly. Quiet and peaceful. Perfectly located close to the Retiro park and beautiful shops.
Bars and restaurants were closed, we should have been told. Watch out for all of the extras! Very expensive.
old-world charm with a cool rooftop pool in the middle of a beautiful neighborhood
too soft mattresses
Relaxed atmosphere with a lovely mixture of traditional and modern interior. Staff at desk lovely and all very helpful. Fabulous location and very good restaurants within walking distance. We spent many hours in the nearby park, which is very beautiful especially around the lakeside.
The attitude of one of the regular pool attendants who on a number of occasions was outrageously rude, gesturing that we were 'English' etc. It was so bad that at one time another guest staying there ordered our drinks and food for us. It became obvious that he did not like us simply because we were English. I did mention it briefly at the desk but no reaction. We had a young child with us so avoided a confrontation but this resulted in a bad experience of what needed to be a fun area for 'everyone'!
Decent hotel and good ambience for a family to hang out. The double bed room I booked was not spacious but comfortable for a week's stay. Evening walks are pleasant around this place.
Food was an issue for my family as the in house restaurant served few veg dishes for dinner. The breakfast was good enough though.
-breakfast excellent -Park Retiro just around the corner -friendly and helpful personal
-communication in English sometimes difficult -food in the pool restaurant was disappointing
Location and connecting rooms!
Room service food!
Wellington Club is a must. Great place.
The pool area was not very clean and a bit untidy.
The facilities are great; lovely pool and super spa. Good choice for breakfast with artisan bread. Excellent, central location by Retiro Park. Fantastic linen sheets.
A barely lukewarm welcome at 3am after a five hour flight delay. Some of the staff speak very basic English, but this may be churlish as my Spanish is non existent.
The staff is really friendly. The accommodations are confortable. There are nicer (renovated) rooms than others.
It would be good to know if you are getting a renovated room in advance, when you are booking.
Everything was exceptional. This is not the first time we have been at The Wellington and their quality and personal are superb
The Wellington Club- a super facility with friendly staff
Having to leave and check out!
Great location, nice facilities and beautiful interiors
Price for breakfast too expensive (25 euros). Mini bar bottles of water overpriced and staff couldn't offer anything else in terms of bottled water apart from room service which was also very pricy. I guess prices are in line with star rating. But staff could have recommended a nearby shop. Staff were ok but not overly friendly but it wasn't an issue.
Staff not friendly at all. They need to up their game pretty dramatically
Bathroom shower needs improvement water leaks on the floor and carpet flooring in rooms needs cleaning
